Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Yes, I agree with you they just time pass by giving invalid reasons,Pls let me know what is the outcome after second service if the issue is fixed or not.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
It should increase post 1st service. One more quick question, do you get any screeching noise from rear disc when it's applied gently or hard. I'm having issues with my new rtr Apache 160 4v.can u plz confirm.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
The screeching noise in my bike occurs mostly when I press the brakes a little hard. By hard I don't mean like pressing them suddenly on 60 kmph, but yes at speed of about 35-40 kmph they do make noise when pressed. My bike is about 3 months old and this issue popped up after my bike had run 700+ kms. But I have read that many customers are experiencing the same problem with new 160 4v. So it should be solved.Originally posted by naylak27 View PostYes, I agree with you they just time pass by giving invalid reasons,Pls let me know what is the outcome after second service if the issue is fixed or not.

Re: Rear disc noise from the brand new rtr 160 4v (dual disk) when applied break
Update : I had my bike's second servicing today. The service Center Guy opened my rear disc brakes and took out the brake pads. First he cleaned them with air pressure, then he rubbed them with sand paper for a while and then again he cleaned them with the air pressure, inserted them back and tested for any screeching sounds. The sound was no longer there.Originally posted by Siby.dj View PostPlease do let us know the cause if you find it
He told me that a lot of dirt had accumulated in my rear disc brake pads and that was the reason for the screeching sounds.
Right now no screeching sound is there but in case it comes up again, I will further update.

Re: Rear disc noise from the brand new rtr 160 4v (dual disk) when applied break
That's right but am pretty sure that the brake noise will arise soon !! As TVS is using rotor disc in brakes for their bikes , this is a normal issue ,I believe they aren't good when compared to Dbybre or NISSIN which is used by other bikes...Originally posted by Akshaymishra94 View PostUpdate : I had my bike's second servicing today. So If the noise is minimal try living it with !!!! However changing to a new brake pads will help once the stock worns out .

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
First servicing is done. It cost me 946/-
They mentioned things like chain lubrication, clutch settings, battery charging along with air filter and engine oil.
I am from Thane, Maharashtra.
Do let me know what other service centres charge and what all they include in that service.

It seems overpriced and I hope clutch settings/ battery charging is unnecessary during the first service !!!Originally posted by krushnat90 View PostFirst servicing is done. It cost me 946/-

Can you please upload the bill ? It would be easier to determine where they have charged you extra.Originally posted by krushnat90 View PostFirst servicing is done. It cost me 946/-

Rs.970/- charged for my first service. In includes:
1) Change of Engine Oil.
2) Chain Lub (Charged for 200 ML)
3) Some filter.
4) Consumables

I had the break pads replaced by the TVS service center on my rear disc and for two days, I have not heard of any screeching noise from rear bike. But later I am again getting the screeching noise from the rear disc and sometimes sound is just increasing and its audible very clear in the busy traffic even with helmet , I think whenever the break pads holds the rotor and creates noise, it also marking the scratches on the rotor.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostThat's right but am pretty sure that the brake noise will arise soon !! Not sure why the sound appears very soon after cleaning the break pads/replacement of break pads in good number of bikes, I have been checking with different bikes of dual disc variant and none of them says they had issue with rear disc making noise and even couple of my friends own models (160 4V and 200 model) and they never had an issue.

Yeah, replacing the TVS brakepads won't solve this issue, I hope so !!
It gonna need some major changes .
And as ever the brake is applied the rotor disc gets stopped by the brake pads and everybody's DISC will get deteriorate .
Each and every part in our motorcycle has its own lifetime as in our case [emoji2] we can't say when people die/born ,so it happens.
We should be responsible and act accordingly.
P.S : Don't always apply stress braking ,(Try to use engine braking and apply gentle pressure on your brakes!!)
I'd seen my friend's R15 disc brake just broken off and another one FZ guy's disc is wobbling !! We can't expect anything even it's from India or from Japan [emoji16].

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Successfully covered 12345 Kms ,I'm gonna switch to MOTUL FS and post the review.
Have completed all free services with TVS TRU4 FS OIL .
As of now I have noticed:
1) It's comparably less thicker than MOTUL,shell etc and lasts around 4000-5000 kms (Though top-up is required)
2) Gearshifts are smoothy only during the initial 2000 KMS.
3)This is true !!! Oil level decreases during touring/long distance rides.Last edited by Aswinlogi; 05-22-2019, 09:06 AM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
I think they overcharged you. It costs me Rs 420 for the first service at 600KMS. They changed the Engine oil only. I told them to tune the carb and they did. Now I am getting decent mileage of 49KMPL in highway at 60 to 80KM speed. Fueled in Essar bunk.Originally posted by krushnat90 View PostFirst servicing is done. It cost me 946/-
