Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
I need to know the pin layout of the 160 4v TCI.
You'll have to remove the seat first, then the right side silver color panel and you'll see the TCI. Then you have to disconnect the connector to view the pins.
Someone please check and post the pics here.
Thanks in advance.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
I need to know when carburettor tuning can be done ?
My bikes gives me uneven mileage. Sometimes its 45 kmpl and at other time it goes down to 30 kmpl. I asked Service Center Guy to tune the carburettor for better mileage. But he told me that carb tuning is done only after the bike has covered a distance of 5-6k kms. Is this true ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Factory tuned carbs are great. If you ride at optimal level of rpm and shift perfectly without riding hard you'll get 40+ mileage all time.
Edit : don't change carb tune unless you really need to

Rear disc noise from the brand new rtr 160 4v (dual disk) when applied break
I have purchased Apache rtr 160 4v dual disc a month back, after completion of 30 KMs on odometer I stared getting screeching noisse from the rear disc even if its applied gently or hardly. Visited service center 5 times all the time they clean the disk and break pads and the issue resume after 6 - 8 KM ride. By the way I get response from the service its beaucse of dust, but I do not think the dust could create such kind of noise all the time when the rear break is applied. Can someone suggest what could be the issue.

Can you hear the noise with a helmet on too? Dust and small pebbles are the major cause of such noise. Make sure to blast air in between your disk and the pads.Originally posted by naylak27 View PostI have purchased Apache rtr 160 4v dual disc a month back, after completion of 30 KMs on odometer I stared getting screeching noisse from the rear disc even if its applied gently or hardly. Try another service center. I think they will need to open the unit to find out the issue and most service center guys are good for nothingOriginally posted by naylak27 View PostThanks for your response. Yeah, I can hear that sound with helmet too and in the traffic as well. Its very audible. It comes all the way when applying break.

I am having the same problem too and I have also received the same response. These people try to avoid work as much as possible by giving lame excuses. I have my bike's second servicing in two days and this time I will make them open the rear disc brake and have it checked completely.Originally posted by naylak27 View PostI have purchased Apache rtr 160 4v dual disc a month back, after completion of 30 KMs on odometer I stared getting screeching noisse from the rear disc even if its applied gently or hardly.
