Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
So? That doesn't mean people can properly service fi bikes. I've a friend of mine who went to showroom for Svc, the mechanic said sir I'll clean the carb for better mileage. Lmao the bike was FI and he didn't even knew it. Once he knew it was FI he said sir we won't be able to service it hereOriginally posted by dhivakar17 View PostFrom 2020, all two wheelers have to move to EFI (BS VI norms) !!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
My 1604v clocked 5000kms, now when i accelerate bike wont go above 4000rpm, bike shows missing and power loss after that, below 4000rpm bike is normal and there are no abnormal sounds from engine
What can be the cause for this problem ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Go to the SVC immediately and get the AFR corrected, though this seems more like an electrical issue. Then go by checking the spark plug, connectors, CDI/TCI unit and so on.Originally posted by Warwolf View PostMy 1604v clocked 5000kms, now when i accelerate bike wont go above 4000rpm, bike shows missing and power loss after that, below 4000rpm bike is normal and there are no abnormal sounds from engine

Check for any blockage in the air filter area. Remove the seat and insepect if anything is blocking incoming air. Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
As you've mentioned that the power loss after 4K should be due to the inadequate supply of air & petrol mixture.Originally posted by Warwolf View PostMy 1604v clocked 5000kms, now when i accelerate bike wont go above 4000rpm, bike shows missing and power loss after that, below 4000rpm bike is normal and there are no abnormal sounds from engine

Get your carb serviced !!!!
Also check and top-up the engine oil . Because during , long drives the oil level gets decrease sometimes.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
One more thing to check is the rubber tube connecting air filter to carb. Many 160 4v owners have reported this tube coming loose and this could also cause such symptoms.sigpicOm Yamahaya Namaha...praise the lord!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Newbie here.
Going to take delivery for abs+carb tomorrow. It would be great if someone help me with following points:
- what speeds i should ride with until my first service
- what speeds i should maintain if I want to get 40+ mileage. I travel mostly in city with less than average Mumbai traffic.
Thanks

1. Run in instructions will be there in the user manual which will tell you under what speeds and RPM to ride in.Originally posted by krushnat90 View PostNewbie here.

2. I've found that maintaining a steady 40-60 gives you atleast 45kmpl of mileage. Maybe you could try that as well.[My Motorcycles]

The first service due is at 500 Kms /one month whichever comes first. Ride gradually at RPM's 3-4K .
* Don't stress the engine by going on very lower/higher revs.
*Try using kick start in mornings.
** Regarding mileage :
you can check it after your first service , however you can expect around 40-50 .
As you've mentioned that the traffic is not high , you should be getting 40+ KMPL .
NOWADAYS I'M GETTING VERY GOOD MILEAGE FIGURES . FILLED 200 Rs. Petrol yesterday and rode 120+ Kms for 2.5 L ~
Take care,
Cheers.
