Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Yeah, got the 160V carb abs version on 11.03.2019..Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostAnyone has bought the bike with ABS ? Kindly share your experiences !!
As per the dealer, i was one of the first to get the ABS version in 160V carb.
ABS does make a difference in case of need of sudden breaking and i have experienced the same on a few occasions.
But to be honest, i have not been riding my bike as per its capacity till now, as my first service was awaited. Got it serviced yesterday at odo 690.
I am sure i will get to get advantage of ABS more often now

Got my bike serviced yesterday (first service) at odd reading 690.Originally posted by hariharan618 View PostWhat engine oil do you use? Newbie here. 300kms on odo. Awaiting first service. So asking. Yet to know more about engine oils.
He gave me the option of using any Engine oil of my choice. But i stuck with the company recommended TVS Tru4 1.2 l (As given in bike's user manual).
And ya, total cost of service amounted to INR 725/- (engine oil + filter).

Yes. I booked it in 15th March and got it delivered on 20th. It's been 14 days I guess, 350 kms on odo, bike's awesome. Brakes are brisk. Even at very slow speeds of 40-50 I can actually crush the brakes fully and bike is stable. Awaiting my first service. Will stick with tvs try 4 oil itself for the first couple services. Let me seeOriginally posted by Aswinlogi View PostAnyone has bought the bike with ABS ? Kindly share your experiences !!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Hello Guys,
I am planning to book apache 160 4v FI ABS 2019 Version to get updated spec. Its gonna cost me around 1.21 L on road.
Can you guys advise going with FI ABS is good choice over Carb ABS?
What will be benefited paying extra 7-8 k for FI?
Is it a good decision to skip FZ v3 and Honda Hornet 160 R Abs in comparison with TVS apache 160 4V?
Appreciate your feedback which will help me finalizing my decision.

FI is a better choice but carb isn't bad either. But FI is costlier than carb . FI parts are also not cheaper ones.. It's upto youLast edited by Aswinlogi; 04-03-2019, 11:19 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Hello,
A Bajaj Pulsar 150 ug4.5 owner, DIY head here.
Looking to pick a 160 4v fuel injected + ABS variant for daily run of 150-200 kms and two trips a month of 1500kms.
Any pointers of what I should be looking at ?
Also the abs+fi isn't available here, anyone can help me a little to get the pricing idea ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
I suggest you get the carb variant as most of the Service center guys itself are not experienced to deal with FI. Even in the showroom itself, they recommend getting CARB. Also, are you going on a daily run for 150 - 200 KMS?Originally posted by MidnightEvil Parth View PostHello,

Talking about this, I am accustomed to cleaning fuel injectors, what else apart from this is needed ?Originally posted by hariharan618 View PostI suggest you get the carb variant as most of the Service center guys itself are not experienced to deal with FI. Also, I am pretty much unhappy with carbed bikes since my daily run is from an altitude of 400m to 2100m, so can't get the state of tune perfect, no matter what.
Yes, my daily run is 150-200kms.
