Hi xbhpians, though this is my first post here I have been following your posts for quite a few months and all your experience sharing had been very informative for me.
@Renny: You said that TVS has sorted out almost all problem of RTR 180 in its new lot apart from vibrations. Are you sure about it?Adrenaline and petrol can be a lethal combination

That even TVS cannot confirm!!Originally posted by Royzone View Post@Renny: You said that TVS has sorted out almost all problem of RTR 180 in its new lot apart from vibrations. Are you sure about it?
They are about to launch revamped/refreshed versions of the RTR in September. Expect them to be an improvement over the current lot.

But problems like one way clutch, TCI, crankshaft, hiccups etc shows itself after a few months only. So how are we supposed to know whether they have rectified it or not before say December. I am planning to buy a bike this Dussehra and only thing keeping me away from RTR 180 are these niggling issues.Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostThat even TVS cannot confirm!!

The best you can do is purchase the bike that is most recently manufactured and rest is your luck (which doesnot hits most of the times.).Originally posted by Royzone View PostBut problems like one way clutch, TCI, crankshaft, hiccups etc shows itself after a few months only. There were hardly 2-3 cases reported in the thread relating to the one way clutch prob and all were taken care under warranty and after that the owners are having no probs.Originally posted by Royzone View PostBut problems like one way clutch, TCI, crankshaft, hiccups etc shows itself after a few months only. So go ahead and buy the bike, and till diwali/Dussehra TVS will be out with that new "improved" RTRThe Magician"

But there had been numerous cases of hiccups reported and you don't want that from a flagship bike.Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostThere were hardly 2-3 cases reported in the thread relating to the one way clutch prob and all were taken care under warranty and after that the owners are having no probs.

Moreover AFAIK the improvement will be the addition of ABS.Adrenaline and petrol can be a lethal combination

Yes faulty TCis are the culprits for the one-way clutch failure.Originally posted by jay_apachian View PostWent to the svc centre today and told him about the one way clutch problem . but he said its the problem of the Tci and he will replace it...but should i also get a replacement for the oneway clutch as it might have been damaged because of the faulty Tci? please guide me
And you need to replace the clutch too as the damage might have been already done.Stress on them to replace it.
