Thanks. Alloy means the rim? Change is due to the thick drum in the rim?
Anyway, any idea about the cost?

    3. Drain period/oil performance period is much longer than the AX7.
    4. AX7 is a highly refined mineral oil (go through the engine oil thread) while the M5100 is an ester based semi-synthetic oil and hence the increased cost.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll get the AX7 this time as some people have said that the 5100 isn't available anymore. Also, I don't have to worry about counterfeits with Shell as it can be bought in Shell pumps directly.

It is that the Motul 5100 10W40 grade is not available. 15W50 grade is there and is of much demand.

Go ahead with the Advance AX7. You won't regret the purchase. Just remember to replace it every 2,000 kms if you want peak oil performance from the AX7.

Replace the oil filter too. Costs around 35 INR.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Oops yes I meant the rim... If you could notice the centre part of the rim is different for disc and drum. Cost.......svc might help in that

But why If we would care of mileage there are plethora of options in 100/125cc segment. And if you just want to share that can be done without poll too

I agree, if mileage was a factor at the time of purchase, then the 180 would never have figured in the equation. having said that, mileage is an aspect that cannot be ignored also UNLESS, its way below the standard figure the 180 is known to return.Guess its a simple funda - Rip the bike< will be the mileage & vice versa. unless there is some issue with the bike itself this concept should hold true.

errrrrrrrr lots of confusion !!! huh!

Though everybody say's mileage aint a factor but for most of the user's Mileage does matter a bit, but my main aim was to know whats the Average one should expect from her beast, I was satisfied with 30-35 figure to but it returns me 40+ sometime around 50 but when we have some serious issue in bike then it might be possible to get as low as 30 so there are few member including me who is getting more then sufficient average so the best we can share with rest of all to get whats best, everybody wants to use there bike as on it's best...

When someone ask about Mileage then its not always a money factor but factors like Mileage according to performance should justify itself.. I hope one will not go for 180 cc if its return 25/litre that too having top end of 130 but one surely will go for ZMA or ZMR looking at its Top End, engine Power & Performance... We can compare it with Latest Mobile everybody accept relatively low battery hours of Bigger screen cell phone with lot more features but no one will accept same battery hours in 3 inch screen.

Thats what we lack here, why so much stress on mileage than performance and reliability. If we think of mileage before getting any bike, sorry to say, but we will never jump to any higher cc performance bikes

You yourself answered the query. You mentioned that your rtr mileage varies between 30-50kmpl, so would have been others, unless as you mentioned, something wrong with carb. Every riders knows how he ride, and that decides the mileage. I ride a little harsh so I can't expect 50kmpl from mine, same way if you ride in a sedate way, you can expect 50kmpl.

Thats what I said, if one is getting a 180cc bike which is meant for performance one should not worry about mileage, and if he does, he made a wrong decision of getting it. BTW lets not compare it with any other brand

P.S : I upgraded from a mileage giving 125cc, and honestly from the day I bought my RTR i have not checked its mileage, all I know it gives 35-40kmpl(tank full method) and that enough for me. I already knew I can not expect 70kmpl like my old bike, so why bother!!

Yeah looks true on paper but no one will buy a Apache with 20 average better go with CBR & R15 then

Mileage is another factor Like power & torque of any bike surely mileage is no concern for me either & not for most of the user but its a factor like Engine Power & Torque when you talk about "X" bike its important factor for sure...

As Said no one will buy Apache having Mileage of 20-25 but ZMA or ZMR or to say CBR 250... if RTR or anyother 180cc Consuming Petrol like 250 cc Bike then its Surely some mistake by Bike Manufacturer or company unless or untill there are other significiant like performance, top end & mid end toruqe also the bike's Chasis....

Anyways Mileage Poll was raised just for a Friendly concern about RTR, for others to get Idea about Mileage of Apache...

Waise OT: Prateek - Don't you will love if your RTR gives same 50 mileage as mine ? or may be better then that??

Go through there thread, you will come to know what mileage they are getting. And its more than 20

Ever heard "serious" sbk owners discussing mileage of there litre class, they have the power & torque factor. So it is a factor for smaller ccs that too with a large segment of users and that needs to change, honestly or else our country will stuck in time and people will have to ride a 150/160/180/200/225 cc for all the years to come.

Again comparison??? BTW these two bikes give more than 25kmpl. I haven't seen any RTR giving 25kmpl unless the rider has done some stupid modification or his engine is screwed up.

You already answered that 30-50kmpl, and depends on riding style

No way, I am happy what I am getting, I already made up my mind while buying that 30is the least that I can expect then why to have expectations and mileage of my bike is not the factor for my love towards my RTR

                      • 35-40 km/l(max) is the "ideal" mileage one can expect if the RTR is ridden in "rip" mode, my friend had the 1st gen 160,the bike was used extensively for touring&commuting in "rip" mode, end number of tuning, carb cleaning, chain lubing, offerings given at various temples in mumbai failed to increase the mileage of the bike which was stuck at 37,but he was least bothered as he was in love with its performance.
Shaby, i seriously envy you man, because of the mileage you are getting,50 km/l is a superb figure.i get a decent return which is in between the 40-44 range with sedate riding.

                              • sincere apologies for the back to back posts, looking at the way the petrol prices are in a hurry to give competiton to Sachin"s 100 centuries mileage could definetly play an important role in the near future.
OT : if the UPA govt decides to NOT increase the price of diesel then 1 precious litre of petrol will cost 80bucks & if diesel prices are hiked then a litre of petrol will cost 78 approx.all of this from friday onwards.
