P.S. just for trivandrum guys, the SVC i mentioned in the last is LOGTECH TVS.

Havent tried any control oils. Shell ax7 and ultra are awesome. Ultra is FS, hence costlier. Ax7 does a good job too.

Use Shell Advance AX5 10w40 premium mineral oil till 5000kms (replace every 3 months/2500kms along with oil filter).

Post 5000kms, shift to AX7 10w40 semi-synthetic oil. Till the warranty is over try changing oil at SVC itself even if oil is of your choice.

                      • As Shaby said, Shell Advance Ultra is a superb Full Synthetic engine oil. But, one has to wait at least till 7000kms before trying as it is a FS engine oil.

                        P. S. This oil's level will drop a little faster so frequent checks and required top ups are a must. There should always be a spare bottle at your home (won't be that easy on the wallet for many). Cost in Trivandrum 780INR.

Isn't ax5 a mineral oil? TVS tru4 oil is a SS oil. Why would you downgrade to mineral when TVS is itself telling you to use SS from the word go?

                          • Hi guys,
I have a query or issue to discuss here. Hope you guys can help.

I own a TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS which I bought last month. Received the delivery on 31st October. The first servicing is done.
Whenever I ride the bike, there is some krr sound from the front. It comes when the bike vibrates, and sounds like some part is loose. I took the bike to the service center and they said it is the fairing and suggested that they tightened it. However, the sound is still there I am new to Apache, so I am wondering if the sound should be there? If not, what can be the possible reason? I have been hearing this sound since the first week.

Also, another question I have is that when I ride above 60kmph, the moment I release the accelerator or reduce the acceleration to reduce the speed, there is a kach sound at the bottom, which is more like the sound that comes when the bike goes through a pot hole. I informed the service center about this too but just like any service center, they did not fix the problem.

Throttle response will be much better and 0-60 will also be quick, but it may damage some of the internals. diaphragm got punctured when I was using it, mech said it was due to un even air flow, not sure if filter alone was to be blamed.
Better stick to stock paper filter, stock engine oil. They do their job well.
