Vijaynagar!! :O Damit. I'm all the way in yelahanka. :P N yes, I'm a avid LOG fan And a big metalhead!Originally posted by Prithvi R View PostI stay in RPC Layout, Vijaynagar.
And about the fuel indicators, I fill up my tank completely once in 20-25 days. The indicator bars starts to go down only after 150 Kilometers. And also keep in mind that it won't show the exact reading all the time. The reading varies from time to time. But i can manage around 410 - 425 Kilometers until the reserve indicator lights up. BTW, where do you stay mate?

That too on a new bike. :P Something is wrong with the fuel level sensor right?
@Prithvi thanks man!
Ur another in bangalore!
Where you at?Originally posted by madhav766 View PostOkay. Now I'm Really worried something is wrong with the fuel indicator. Damit. 160kms done. No change in the fuel indicator.
This is a common problem with all digital fuel indicators. I face the same issue with my RTR 160. I filled my bike with 9 liters of fuel, the bar showed full, for the first 200 km i lost only 1bar, then for the next 50 km i lost 3 bars.
Whenever you are starting the bike, don't switch on the bike when you parked the bike with side stand. Put the main stand or sit on the bike straight, and switch on the bike. Wait for the self check, the bike will show appropriate fuel indicator.Last edited by hemnath; 09-19-2012, 11:06 AM.

Bars display's on the Console are dependent on Floater level & Resistance (ohm), and because of Tank's shape, strips doesn't provide very accurate information always....

Well, theres a lot of discussion about air filters going on here. Im getting very tempted :P. Can anybody please explain me the things that has to be done after getting a K&N or Cosworth etc etc. I've read a few things like up-jetting and all, but can you guys please be more specific and explain what is up-jetting and things like that? And also the pros and cons of it. (If there any)
Thanks.

Jetting is done to get a proper air/fuel mixture, A/F mixture plays very important role in your bike performance & plays bigger factor in mileage too. Bike should not run Rich or lean anyhow (it can be fatal). there are way's to understand Rich & Lean the most common one of Rich A/F is in air fuel mixture carb get's more fuel compare's to air (black smoke from exhaust) & when in lean its opposite. now how to identify if its lean or rich practically? look for your Spark plug (though its not easy), ride your vehicle use clutch, Brake & Rev/throttle (at gears) & after few kilometer's check Spark plug if its white it means Lean & Black means Rich.Originally posted by Prithvi R View PostWell, theres a lot of discussion about air filters going on here. Lean may burn the engine & rich may damage spark plug or some of internal parts.
So come to air filters now. Combustion engine need air to work with air dirt also enters inside carb which can damage bikes engine, when you install aftermarket air filter it allows more air to pass to the carburetor & resist dust particles, so it means it will lean out air fuel mix.
Coming to your next Air Filter waala question, After market air filters are installed to allow more air to pass to carburetor, that means it makes A/F mixture lean so you have to install larger Jet (Up Jetting/Rejeting) to increase Fuel ratio (as simple as that) .
If not habbitual/ Mechanic then go to Expert mechanic .Last edited by shahbaz63; 09-19-2012, 08:59 PM.
