I have heard many people esp buyers talking about the Next Gen RTRs 180 and ABS will get every thing looking the Same with very small changes but with a Whole Damn Bucket of Improvements from BMW on the Inside. They are saying the RTR will get EFI,4 Valves,DOHC,Twin Spark Plugs,Knock Sensor,Oxygen Sensors,Dual Cradle Race Frame,Swingarms,6 Speed Gearbox,Water Cooling Loop Block,Complete NVH Improvement and Better Parts Quality and Much better Fit & Finish. But what I need is eh... Re: TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS led light beast eyes
Hi, it seems that the previous owner has already replaced one of the DRLs with a new piece, probably because the old one fused off. This can be noticed by the bluish white glow of the new piece from the white glow of the old one. (mine is a july 2012 model but currently has a new head assembly including the new bluish DRLs which i replaced due to a long storyOriginally posted by Shahryar Khan View PostHey guys i brought this Apache 180 abs second hand for 50K nov 2012 model the problem is with the eyes one of the eyes is bright and the other one is little dull I had shown to svc guys they told me the headlight and eyes are one piece n it will cost me around 3000 rs foe the new one is it true they are one piece..............n i am uploading the pic of the eyes can it be restored to its original form

)
each single unit was previously available as a separate component and cost around 500 bucks or something don't remember the exact pricing though, do enquire with other SVC too. its probably an "on order" spare part.

Go to any car accessories shop and ask for Teflon polish. Then wash your bike throughly. Then use a soft cloth (not too soft but also not abrasive) to apply the Teflon polish on all painted surfaces (minus the engine as the heat will cause the paint to crack) with a circular motion of your hand (like making jalebis). Once done allow it to stand a minute or two and then if you have a buffing tool use it or just use a clean dry cloth to wipe the bike. Its like polishing your shoes, the same principle applies. The more gently and thoroughly you rub the better the shine.

No, no particular brand but I bought the waxpol polish I think..........can't remember all that well.
But read the label on the box and check if a soft sponge for rubbing the paint is provided in the container. Also don't buy if its liquid polish or spray on coat, they are ineffective and may cause damage to the paint.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hey all, after 3 months of (not so) patient waiting, my White beast with ABS was delivered to me today !
Why 3 months? Well, here is the deal -
Shortlisted the ABS as the bike I want to buy, so paid an advance of 5000 at a dealer in Hyderabad in the first week of September . He promised it will be delivered by October first week.
But it wasn't to be. so after waiting patiently for a month I wrote to the TVS Customer support and I immediately got a call back and was provided with the number of the regional coordinator.
he was a nice guy but he was apparently helpless as he mentioned Hyderabad hadn't received an ABS model in 3 months!! After some more back and forths, he got transferred as well.
In comes the new guy, who was also a big help, and he mentioned that it wont be here until at least december . Finally, I decided to go for the NS. I was planning on having a test ride in the next week, and hence gave the guy a last call, and hey presto ! He said that he has gotten in a "Special" delivery just for me and I can collect it on Friday (yesterday) .
So I went to the showroom today and after completing the formalities, I am now, officially, a Beast rider !!
Loving it already

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hey, Sorry but I am real bad at clicking photos and yet to take a good photo.
And my experience so far (covered 100kms in 2 days) -
- Bike Vibrates a lot around the 5k RPM band, since its in Run in , I am yet to exceed that.
- The gear shifts are very very hard, especially from 1st-2nd, I literally have to yank it with my legs
- Filled in a good 7 litres but the Gauge is already on the last Bar, I guess 2.5 went to reserve, but mileage seems bad.
I agree that the first service will solve most of these issues. And it just hit me that I did not get a name plate or any free goodies from the dealer! For waiting 2 months, they should have given me something at least
