Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Its going to be my Last pictorial post in this thread. Saying Good bye to the ever reliable War Horse(I named it Chetak).
I had sold it to my friend 2 years back, today he sold it, and booked a RTR 200.
Bike was so well maintained, I sold it to my frnd at 38K and he resold it after almost 2 years for the same price ( bought on Eid day, 2009).Last edited by sambit; 07-23-2016, 05:33 PM.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Go for it! I'm using the 15w50 since a month or so now. Feels a little sluggish at low RPM's. But man it PULLS!Originally posted by pranav_salieri View PostHere is a pic of my ride, planning to swap the front tyres with a MRF zapper 90/90 17 and also thinking of pouring in Motul 5100 semi synthetic oil next week.

Wax will fill in the scratches and make them invisible. You can try Formula 1 wax. And no, it will not lose shine, will enhance it rather.Originally posted by HeartBreaker View PostGuyz help me with how to remove scratches..... N if I used wax will my bike lose its shine ? If not which wax is good ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Motul 5100 comes in 10w30 as well since it's the recommend grade by TVS.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View PostHere is a pic of my ride, planning to swap the front tyres with a MRF zapper 90/90 17 and also thinking of pouring in Motul 5100 semi synthetic oil next week.
Also try to get Zapper FY1 for front. It's 90/80 but grip is phenomenal and bike leans more easily. Using it on my monsoon rides in Sahyadris and I must say it's just amazing.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys I have completed 2000km+ on my TVS Apache RTR180 ABS, second service has been done 10days back. Have followed the run-in i.e. riding under 50kmph till 1000km. I have been facing few problems lately.
1. Everytime I need to shift gears at 5000rpm or above, I thought Apache was short geared. Have ridden Uni150 and Gixxer, found that they can easily ride at lower speeds with higher gear engaged but my bike has to be ridden in 2nd gear at speeds of 20kmph or else it'll start lugging.
2. Burning smell after few km ride too.
3. Gearshift till 3rd gear seems to be hard.
4. I am not able to feel 17horses lately, there's seems to be loss in power.
Please help me out on the above issues.

1. Change the gears at these speeds and the bike will not stall.Originally posted by aditya.prasanna View PostGuys I have completed 2000km+ on my TVS Apache RTR180 ABS, second service has been done 10days back. 1st - 7kmph
2nd - 18kmph
3rd - 24kmph
4th - 28kmph
5th - 32kmph.
2. Coz new bike.
3. Getting used to takes time.
4. The horses live on the 6th floor and higher, if you search them on 5th floor you'll never be able to find it.
Get a better engine oil too by the way! And trust me these aren't any issues, these are not knowing the bike well. I hope your queries were answered.

Get your carburettor (Air-Fuel Ratio) checked. Your bike seems to be running on rich mixture.Originally posted by aditya.prasanna View PostGuys I have completed 2000km+ on my TVS Apache RTR180 ABS, second service has been done 10days back.
