You can buy any of them whichever suits your needs.
    Thanks a lot bro.

Should we buy a 900ml one or a 1 LTR product for our RTR180?

Booked Shell Advance AX7 through Amazon today. Costs ₹337.

Is it mandatory to use a chain cleaner before using a chain lube?

Pls suggest me a good chain cleaner and chain lube..

My friend owns an Apache RTR 160 which is around 2 years old and has run for 22000kms. Currently he uses TVS fully synthetic engine oil. Since the servicing date is near he wants to change to a different brand of engine oil. He has shortlisted the following engine oils:
            1. Shell Advance AX7
            2. Shell Advance Ultra

It will be really helpful if someone could suggest which one to use. Also if there is a better option other than those two mentioned above, please suggest.

People say about vibration issue in the bike, is it that bad and intolerable? Is there any fix to it?
Its the only ABS equipped bike which falls in my budget and above issue is the only thing stopping me to get one, please advise.

              Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for triple digits ride vibrations are too nasty. Its bearable till 85 Kmph for me.

Price is reasonable. I got an offer from the showroom people itself to exchange with RTR 200. My angel was 1 year old and done 16000 Kms at that time. They offered 52-55K. Even the showroom guys offer such a price i think its reasonable for 60K. But check thoroughly for complaints.

Tell him to go for motul 7100 fully synthetic oil. I found it better than shell in my 180.

                    Hi Apachians,

My TVS Apache RTR 160 Hyperedge 2013 model has clocked 47000km ODI. Now my bike starts to show reduction in mileage- reduced by 10km/Ltr. Could you provide any methods I could follow to increase the efficiency.

I'm a city rider with 50km trip every day. I use shell AX7 (semi-synthetic) engine oil.
                    Proud Apachian !! ;)

                      Hello guys,
Is there any performance or long lasting brake pads for apache?
I heard that semi-sintered(also known as semi-mettalic) are good and durable. Are the stock brake pads made of organic or semi-sintered?

Get your bike carburettor retuned from a mechanic. That's the cheapest way to achieve mileage. If that doesn't work, try cleaning out the carburettor and air filters. Also you may try shell petrol for a few 100kms and check the mileage( not promoting the brand). Also adjust your chain slackness to specifications. If it is worn out replace it. If the chain is either too tight or too loose, it affects the mileage.
Hope this helps, I'm not an expert, but I've read a few blogs and watched few videos. All these are easy and cheap so no harm in trying them. Cheers!!

Yes, yes it's kinda cool to hear. Even my 160 makes that noise. But I've not seen on anyother bike. My bike makes humming kinda sound (like vhummm) when i accelerate and let off the throttle. I don't think its a problem. My assumption is that sound comes from the magneto spinning.

Do you feel any pick up issues also?? Did you do the carbon deposit cleaning?? Carbon deposit has to be removed at 30k Kms usually. May be its the reason.

Hi friends,,, my Apache 180 abs had completed 20k ka and 3 days before I gave bike to servicing. And after servicing i was traveling from mumbai to pune and after 40 kms my bike stopped with giving piston sound. So I stopped and checked the i noticed that bolt which was used to drain oil was not in the place and all oil got spilled on road. And now my bike is giving strange noise first i thought it was due to tappet settings but local service engineer says that it has block piston issue and has to open the upper compartmentof engine... Should i proceed or should show first to tvs authorised service centre guys.

Note: plz suggest good service centre in pune

Dude if you are still on warranty period its better to show in the showroom. They may repair it under warranty.

Got my bike serviced at Lakshmi Motors Hebbal as suggested by Madhav 766 and i am happy to say i am really satisfied with the work done by this Service centere.bike revvs much more cleanly and i could feel the smoothness.

                              Big Thanks!

The Mech however mentioned that the Sprockets have worn out and need to be replaced and i told him that i will get it done during the next service. the current sprockets have about 12,000 kms on them and if i am not wrong sprockets should at least last around 18-20K Kms right?

The apache sprocket usually lasts around 15~16k kms. And it also depends on how you maintain the chain, and how often you clean and lubricate. We have to clean and lubricate every 250kms, and now as there are heavy rains, the cleaning interval should be shorter, as the mud sticks to the chain and sprockets.
