Hi pankaj...dont worry even i bought my bike in the 1st week of june..even i have such black spots under the petrol tank lid..mine is also a white rtr..it looks like some kind of air bubble..Originally posted by pankajsingh5k View PostOkay guys i am very worried...

Naaaa. it cant result in hiccups. As long as you physically damage it.

Date of Purchase:13/2/2010
Free services completed : 2 (Any other small niggles corrected at service center only)
Parts replaced : One way clutch under warranty,
RTR Emblem sticker on handle bar(stupid design..this was stolen twice..could have been a screw type)
Final conclusion:
1. The bike had the one way clutch problem from the beginning...nearly begged the svc guy to replace it under warranty before it failed but he bluffed something about company policy.And at last the inevitable happened...one beautiful evening in middle of NH road while in heavy traffic..tried to start the engine and there was a loud bang and the one way clutch shattered.The bike did not start even with kicker.Had to push the bike about a KM to the SVC guy who asked me to wait two days for the part to arrive...
Anyway at last got it changed and I don't think the problem is fully solved with new replacement either.
2. Then there is the engine/Electrics on-off switch...doesnt work properly often..have to push it twice to start.Although small..really annoying
..
3. There are some points in the chassis/frame which have started rusting.I don't know what to do!
4. The carb was not tuned properly at delivery and the mileage was constantly 30 Km/litre.When I asked them to tune it at 400kms,they said its not good to tune carb till at least 1k kms.
So at the second free service (at ODO ~1200 KM) they tuned it and then got mileage of 35 km/lit and also with it Hiccup problem..The guy at SVC still doent know what to do
...this is most annoying when in city traffic and i feel the has lost some power and i really think the bike has more to offer in mileage terms...
4. Handlebar locks are hard to activate with the key getting stuck...
Questions:
1. Is it Ok to ask for a second replacement of oneway clutch and also a new carb under warranty??
2. Is there any other solution for the hiccup problem other than replacement??
..and please tell me in a way so that i can pass on the method to the SVC guy..
3.Is it okay to pour lubricating oil in the keyhole..or is there any other way to loosen the lock mechanism ??

Tune the carb with an experienced mechanic, this will solve the problem easily. Both the idle and main jet screws needs to be adjusted properly to solve this problem.Originally posted by harish619 View PostApache RTR 180

Just use a chain lubricant to free the keyhole. It will penetrate and clean properly than an oil. Never park your bike in an open space/rain. This is the reason for rust and key hole problem.

I've applied teflon coating over the bike. At 10krpm it was some 114-115km/hr and yes it was a slope too
But later on the day i hit 11krpm in 3rd gear. the speed was 91-92km/hr!!
I wonder if we can hit 11krpm in 5th gear(with slope).The 180 should be hitting close to 150km/hr, if that's possible.

That's really scary. TVS should carry out a recall of some sorts. It would be a shame on TVS part if they dont do so.

Replace the whole switch gear-assembly if the problem persists.

New carb is unlikely but you will get the one-way clutch under warranty. But i think the replaced parts warranty period stands valid for 1 year.
3.Is it okay to pour lubricating oil in the keyhole..or is there any other way to loosen the lock mechanism ??

What does TCI stands for? Is one way clutch is related to electric starter? TCi stands for Transistor Controlled Ignition. Yes the one-way clutch is related to the electric starter.
