[thought of flaunting it bt realized that this is an impossibe figure for any indian bike to achieve :P ]
it has happened to me as well....whenever i go above 100-110 the hi speed shows the speed+20 or +40....for now i just reset the hi speed counter....so is this a problem with the speedo???.....i figure it will not be possible to explain it to the svc guys unless one takes them on a ride above 100.....

    • @satyenpoojary - the grip is really awesome when dry.., but when its wet its kind of annoying :P ... try riding in rain for 4 hours without any kinda gloves (heavy rain)

Sorry to interrupt your discussion .I just wanted to get help with a few things .
I booked my apache rtr 180 white few days ago and delivery is expected to be this week .What all things should I check before giving the TVS guys a green signal ?
        Thank you .
Make sure the bike is scratchless and doesnt have more than 10-15kms on the odo. Also make sure they carry out the PDI(Pre-Delivery Inspection) before they deilver the bike to you.

        Motul300V Update:
Normally i judge an engine oil after some 200-300kms of usage but the initial impressions after having switched to Motul is not that great. The feel from handlebars(judders/vibs) at 5-6k rpm has increased and so is the bike's acoustic levels(which i like ) Still will have to see how the 300v fares on the 180 in the long run.

bro... did you have it from the beginning or after the service...

          here is how this happens.
The RTR180 and 160, uses the same console, only with diff backlight colour. Now, the console (designed for the 160) had a small feature, where, when the speedo cable is disconnected from the console, the high speed resets to 160!.

This happened to me at my last service... proving that the SVC guys messed with my console!

And dont think ppl wont believe... I've a practice of posting my highest speed on orkut....and when I saw this, I simply posted this... and there were lots of comments asking what sort of downhill ride it was etc etc...

I own a RTR 180 . . its just been months since i bought it. .well ...i am a big fan of stunts and i have tried a couple of them. . what exactly i wanna know is, whether the stock tyre provided by TVS can be counted upon or do i need to change it.. if the change is required, then pls suggest me some tyres tat can provide good grip and at the same time do not affect her performance. . .. .

                        • yesterday a strange thing happen. on redlight i pulled full throttle in first gear and while changing to second gear i miss it and the bike comes in newtrl but the throttle goes full and taco climb to nearly 11.5k in notime. i manage to shift to second gear but what i see the taco is on 2k while the speed of bike is above 40 .went to 5 gear and speed of 80 but the taco showing only 4k. i start thinking its gone.taco is dead but when i restart the self check the taco went up. i rip the bike and the the taco start working fully and showing right rpm on right speed like 4k 54, 5k 62

                          its working fine now
has any one has also gone thru this on their taco.
                          .................................................

                              • Guys i am getting some weired metal crankling sound while i accelerate my bike. The sound gives a feeling of like the engine is not properly tucked to the bike frame. And it is not the one way clutch problem as i have already got it replaced in the very beginning and hope it has not resurfaced agian. Is it the tapping sound as i have not got my bike's tapping adjusted and it has already clocked 10500kms? Any idea guys.
