  • Hi Guys,

Just completed 2years on my bike(3rd July). Bike had covered 29700kms till that date. Wanted to cover 30k by that time but got sick last week and so couldnt go on a ride for which I was planning( Yelagiri ).
    Feedback:
    1. Awesome acceleration.
    2. Didnt faced any major problem with the bike.
    3. Got disc pads changed thrice and disc plate once for both the brakes.
    4. Got chain set changed once at 20k.
    5. Many people complained about the tyres. I didnt faced such problems. Tyres performed well. Though I had two accidents, but both of the times I was on full sand covered area (1st accident - thank to Volvo driver, 2nd accident - thank to a FZ owner, one minor accident ( thank to myself ). Still on stock tyres but gonna change them now.
    6. Got Joel's FFE for the bike. Using it for past few months.
    7. Some loss in power, maybe the mixture is not proper.

Overall, a great bike. Going to get some engine upgrades also from Joel.

You're lucky that you've been able to complete even that much distance in just 2 years Ask the thing from people like me and you'll feel special

Anyways, any review on Joel's FFE? I mean, how much change in power and other characteristics can one expect from installing the exhaust alone?

      • Guys,

Juz wanna share my RTR experience to you all. I am new in this forum. My bro bought RTR in Jan 2011 but he left to the US in month of may. Till date ODO is ~7000 and i personally did ~2000 in more than a month.

To my experience this white beast is juz amazing. My bro had it all stock and didn't do any mods, but as soon as i got her in my hands the first thing i did is changed the rear tyre to MRF zapper 120 vyde. This serve my purpose a lot. Better road grip in corners but i am still scared to take corners at high speed on little slippery roads coz of the front tyres. Thinkin of change it as soon as i can.

Other mods i did are fitted COSWORTH air filter. Lot of ppl say K&N but i opted for this. After this my bike sounds amazingly beautiful, also fitted with Iradium plug with zero tolerance cable. Performance in juz amazing now. I went to local mechanic and he helped me in getting the jet hole little bigger than stock as well. Now I am quicker on roads then earlier I could say.

I could finally say than I am in love with her :-)

            • all i know is that the tvs guy put something in the exhaust and checked the details on the computer screen to check the co2 emmisions and the settings for the carb no need to rev the engine and all.Im getting an average of 45to48kms using normal fuel and tyre pressure is 25 front and 30 rear.i ride mostly without a pillion and i usually change gears around 3.5rpms, so at the speed of 20 im in 3 gear then at the speed of 30 im in 4 gear and at 40 kms im in 5th gear.i rarely rev my bike bcos it dosent make sense in this mumbai traffic and i love the engine kill switch which i use at every signal.i even dont like to reach the signal and wait so if i see a red signal i slow down and come to a halt by changing gear.I rev my bike only when i get an emty road or some smart ass is messing around just to show the bikes power

You mean you used to get 48-51 from an RTR180?

Is there anyone else who's getting that mileage?

You've been either so damn lucky those days or mistaken in calculations

Yea!! once upon a time...i got 47-49kmpl when my babe was new and i drove carefully without exceeding 65 km/h and with indian oil premium petrol...now she gives mileage of around 43-45 and the speed i touch is 80-90 on open roads...with same indian oil premium... ..but i feel the mileage is going lower...last time i got around 40-42 only...or maybe bangalore traffic is getting worser

                    I always keep 25 (front) - 30 (rear)...mostly i drive single!

                      OMG!!!! ...cool budddy!!!

                      ok...now my questions!!

                      1. To get fitment of Vyde...did you have to make any other mods as it is 120 and stock is 110 or it got fit without any issues? Some say Vyde is heavy and may result in loss of pickup!! .. did you feel any?
                      2. Crossworth air filters - did you get it only for "nice sound"??? ..and how much did it cost you?
                      3. HID lamps!!!! so you got your electricals converted to DC? how much the whole thing cost? where did you buy the HIDs?? Which brand?

                      THANKS!!!

                        To answer your questions:

#1 To get the 120 vyde fitted you don't have to do any mods, it absolutely sits well on stock rim. The shop guy told this is the best broader tyre which suits RTR without any alteration. Yeah I know its a heavy one but can be made lighter on road with nitrogen gas :-) This costed me 2.8k. I got this fitted in Chennai when I was there.

#2 Cosworth is doing wonderful job apart from sound. My RPM needle is in free flow mode after cosworth. My RTR became Q(q)uick T R... I got it for 1350/- after negotiating and it also came with one year warranty!!!

#3 HID projector with blue angle light. I seriously donno how it works. What I saw was it came with an unit which also went inside the light doom. Now i can get my light on even before the ignition is on. The whole projector HID kit costed my 2.6k and fitting another 300 bucks.

I got all my mods done from JC road, Bangalore. More over before getting my up-jetting done i got top speed to 131 kmph but i noticed there is no fuel flow beyond this point. My engine started chocking. But later got the jet hole carved to bigger size yesterday and haven't done top speed after that. need to try this weekend.

Inside the cities I really doesn't realize when i am hitting 100+ speed. Only when i see the speedo i have OMG feeling! LOL
