In my experience if you keep a avg speed of 80KM/h you can cover 600+ KMs with in 9-10hrs(From my Bangalore to Kerala ride experience) at that speed, covering more distance is a easy task for both rider and machine.

Update: Yesterday got the bike after the 1'st Service,Now bike is running very smoothly,No tappet sound,Gear shifts became smoother,Now bike starts with single kick/crank.

Total Service charge was 1150 including Teflon coating.
Very nice. Keep using the bull. I reduced the frequency of using the bull and now I have to give atleast 3 kicks on cold start. Previously 1 Kick is all it needed. The Tappet sound annoys your for atleast 3000Kms, later the sound blends into your brains and your ear drums will learn to ignore/filter it out.

      • Post-servicing update of my new Thunderbird 350

Well, I got my first servicing done 2 days back. Due to a variety of reasons, I was able to give my TB for the 1st servicing only after around 800 kms of running (instead of 500). Anyway, post-servicing, initially I didn't feel any difference in the performance as compared to pre-servicing. If any, the TB seemed slightly sluggish after the servicing. Also, the gear shifting had become much more harder than before. I decided to wait, watch & observe the performance for a couple of days (and not rush to the ASC immediately). The sluggishness in the pickup & overall ride seems to have gone now (at the most, I would say it shows up very rarely). However, the gear shifts were irritating me quite a lot. Kept getting a lot of false neutrals when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. So I finally went to the ASC today. The mechanic rode the Bull and said it was a case of the clutch being a bit hard. He loosened it and things are back to normal.. Gear shifting's fine now.

Experience wise, owning and riding the Bull has been like living a DREAM. Literally. Just sitting on the saddle, grasping those handlebars and looking at the massive 20 litre fuel tank in front of you gives you a feeling of immortality. And then, actually riding the beast takes the feeling several notches higher. What should I say.. Riding the Thunderbird gives so many varied emotions: Immortality, immediate stress buster, solitude, instant blanking of my mind from the outer world.. It really has to be experienced to be 'experienced'.

850 kms done till date. Thousands more to go

After riding the TB 350 for about 70 kms the slow running of the bike increases by itself to 20 rpm (reading) while in idle position which is abnormal. At first I didn't notice this, but the guy from the RE authorized dealer inspected the bike and told that the slow have to be immediately adjusted otherwise fuel consumption will increase. Took the bike to the service centre, as it was free check up camp for TBs, the guys from the company did the job well done. Number two problem, the front disc starts to make some irritating sound like metals cutting one another, this too was rectified by the mechanics. Took the bike home with big grin in my face. Well for sure, I really like the comfort of the bike, my neck pain has been reduced miraculously in these few days. One thing I realize with age riding low handle bar bikes tends to strained the neck part of the body (with no offense to fellow brothers who loves riding low handle bar). This is just a personal experience. The bike really makes you like a Rajah!!!.

          • Hi,
I have a 2011 TBTS, and went in for a glasswool goldie exhaust. the performance is better but there has been a popping sound everytime i close the throttle. this was clearly a sign of lean running so i set the carb to rich mixture but the popping is still there. so I guess the only thing left for me to do is to go in for bigger jets, but how big? Has anybody here upjetted their carb. I'm planning to go for 17.5 pilot and 117.5 or 120 main jet. Any suggestions?

Thank you MAK sir...I am finding difficulties to inflate the Air in rear Tyre,All the petrol stations are using the lengthy filling-valve to inflate .In local puncture shops they are using the small valve but the air pressure gauge is lengthier one so unable to gauge the pressure..how to fill the air...?

Initially I had the same issue filling air in the rear tyre. Shell petrol pumps used the long probe to fill air and once instead of filling the guy deflated the tyre fully. He had to hold the probe with both hands and press it into the valve to fill air. In local puncture shops or Indian/HP pumps they still use traditional probes, (small ones) so filling air was easy there. Yes the air pressure gauge is lengthier though. But it takes some time to get used to. Try from the left side or right side to fill air, and use both hands to hold the probe to the valve, it should work with Lenghier probes.

Note: After replacing stock tube, Im able to fill air easy with any probe, I guess issue is with Stock tube valve design.

                • I have done 3500 km in my TB350 and first 2 services are done. My bull is just 28 days old and I love riding it daily. Thumping sound was seemed to be increased and the tapping noise has beed reduced. BTW I get mileage around 29 to 33 in city driving condition.

                  • My TB's service reminder starts blinking at every 450KMs.As per manual it should blink just before 100kms of each service interval.First it started blinking at 450 Kms(50 more KMs for first service),after the 1st service it stopped blinking, then the service reminder started blinking at 950,next day i visited the service center to check whats the issue is. The service center person stopped the reminder indicator by pressing some button on the cluster (not in front of me) after that again it started blinking at 1850. User Manual says that the service reminder will start blinking at 450,2900,5900,8900 so on.... but dont know what is happening with my TB's cluster.. Is any body else here facing the same issue?

                    • I've done only 200 kms on my new TB350, i like the bike a lot, however, I face a lot of problems while starting the bike in the morning. I was told to start the bike by pulling the choke and kicking. Generally, it took me nearly 7 - 8 kicks to start the bike with choke on. After the bike start I kept it running for about 1 - 2 minutes with the choke on, but the moment I switch off the choke the engine too stopped. Will somebody out there with much experience help this poor guy!!! URGENT!!!

I think the issue is with your Idle RPM setting,There is no need to pull the choke to kick start the bike,Try this method below.

1.Before turning on the ignition key just pull the clutch and strike the kicker(In neutral)do 6 kicks .

2.Turn-on the ignition key and kill-switch then do a swing kick with applying little(just one turn) throttle.

3.After engine starts give more throttle and same time pull the choke if required(When the choke is on the engine RPM will rise to 2K RPM),after 30 secs release the choke

Once the engine got warmed enough set your Idle RPM to 1.1 by turning the Idle screw(Clockwise) that located in the left side of the carburetor (Bike). From next time onwards you may start your bike with just one kick.

Hi there. During cold start this is what I do, although there is not specific rule how to start your bull. Switch on ignition, pull choke and swing the kick slowly up and down 3 to 4 times. This allows piston movement. Then I give one hard kick. Usually if I used the bull the previous day one kick would work. Other wise in 3 kicks. Once the bike starts, release the choke and increase throttle manually to let engine rev between 1 and 1.5k RPM for 90 seconds. If you let the engine rev with choke on, in my bike the engine rev's at 2K RPM which is not good for cold engine. Your bull should not stop after 2 mins of warming up like you do. If that is the case, check your engine idle settings. If you are not confident how to setup the engine idle speed, please take it to your service station.

Mate, few things you forgot to mention. What kind of battery is it, Maintainence free? Hold old is it? If the Battery is 2 years old its time you replace it. Even if the battery is less than 2 years old and you have a habit of cold starting engine with self start, your battery life will reduce. The self starter litterally strains the entire system.

On the other hand if your battery is not that old then current leakage as you have mentioned is possible. However the click click sound of the relay was an issue I faced day 1 of purchase. The A.S.S did fix it day 2 however they shrugged it off stating as a loose connection. Im pretty sure it was either a dead battery of the relay blown. If anyone here knows the symptom mentioned by Loner, please share your wisdom.

Dear Loner, there are a few bull owners who had electrical issues on their bull and A.S.S was never able to rectify because they were never able to identify. (Unfortunately this is not Skoda where you plug the vehicle into a computer and the computer will do an analysis of the entire electrical system and tell you exactly what is broke and how to fix.) RE had to replace entire electircal system. It is a ready made bunch of wires something you see in an alien movie, if you are willing to pay the cost, I suggest you do this as your last resort. First and First, check the battery.

its a non-maintenance free "exide freedom" which came along with the bull and is barely 9 months old.
yes, i was using self while cold starting, but ever since this issue started some 3 months back, i'm using the kicker for cold starts most of the time.
                                thanks a lot
