Also there is a very small spring inside the kick shaft-joint assembly. Most people don't know it. Even I was not aware what was the significance of that spring. My old mechanic, when I went to him with loose kicker, removed that spring right in front of my eyes and convinced me it is actually not required in there and tightened some nuts to keep kicker in its closed position. But then later on I realized it is also an integral part of the kicker, to keep the kicker at its closed position. I'm now in search of that spring, but even HH SVC cannot help me with the same as it is not in production any more. So, take care of the same when you approach your mechanic.Originally posted by sibun View PostThe kick boss which is fixed to the kick shaft is worn out. Just change the boss and the pin and balls. Iv noticed in the last few days i hit 60kmph at around 4.7-4.8 rpm instead of the usall 4.5 rpm...I noticed this after a recent clutch adjustment .The thing is the clutch plates are about 12-13k km old... and they supposedly karzima ... how can they wear out so soon? Im quite sure i change geares reasonably well.(If there is such a term).. or is it signs of the pending engine problem i have.. (Loss in compreesion issue)... The bike is going next week end for service of the engine and chahing of cones set etc... Would I hv to change the clutch set?

well i wont go over board but trust me she looks far more beautiful than the pic as the other two bikes were clicked recently .. cbz's pic is from a phone cam and a old pic.. will update a better one soon for diwali while i go to jaipur..
new battery and upjetting planned for last year i added the conical RC1060 K&N however in the box. itself.. not a direct bolt on carb...
a big battery with a relay for 55/60 w.. the headlamp is weak for a bike like that.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

The Silver Steed
The real mean 150 cc bike that ever hit the Indian roads. Still a force to reckon with. The CBZ Classic is not a machine that you simply park in the corner. It can still put new bikes in an embarrass position.
1. O CBzian can somebody help with the head lamp. The power illuminated is too low.
2. My bike have done 1 lakh + kms, any suggestion what to do with the engine. As for now, no engine problem.

I had a K&N air filter installed 4 years back (still there)in place of the usual foam filter but couldnt get the CARB settings done from the same shop as i bought the filter from Pune and got it installed from an ASC in bhopal .Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postwell i wont go over board but trust me she looks far more beautiful than the pic as the other two bikes were clicked recently .. cbz's pic is from a phone cam and a old pic.. will update a better one soon for diwali while i go to jaipur..

my experience was that apart from the sound and might be a slight difference in mid range
no other apparent changes ..
Please do post performance difference after a proper carb settings.
As for the headlamp.. i always wondered if the headlamp for the new ambition would make a good fit as that was of clear glass unlike the CBZ.
Yes as the alloy wheels are from the CBZextreme/HUnk family so is the disc.no did not face any issues on front braking and as luck would have it ..did had to change the brake calipers and shockups to install these alloys.Originally posted by metalghost View PostBuddy, I can see your disc plate is not of original CBZ. It is of either Unicorn or Shine. Does that disc give you problems? Does it function properly?
My friend had Karizma alloys and (front disc too
) installed on his CBZ and had to install the front shock ups also from Karizma to make a fit.

Guys, someone here suggested to try synthetic 4T 10W50 on our baby and see the difference. My girl's oil change was due and I decided to give 10W50 a try. Man, I must admit...She's booming now. Engine sounds different now, even the firing has become smooth, I feel. Give it a try and see the difference.

Has anyone tried using a Karizma piston on a CBZ ? I remeber reading a tread where maxx had tried mods on his cbz engine. I cant seem to locate it anymore. Joel doesnt seem to have stock of the big bore kit.Another question anybody running a second oversize piston (0.5) how is the fuel consumption ?

Friends, please help:Originally posted by joshdsy View PostHas anyone tried using a Karizma piston on a CBZ ? I remeber reading a tread where maxx had tried mods on his cbz engine. 1. Lately my CBZ classic, while climbing uphill at 50 kms - 60 kms speed it gave a misfire, as if the flow of fuel is block. Though the engine neve stops. This happens everytime after riding for 20 - 30 minutes on uphill climbs.
2. I have not clean the carb for about 5 years now. I am getting mileage between 25 - 30 km a litre in city. (i guess!!
).
3. Today while cleaning the bike I noticed one of the pipes on the Carb had broken in two.
4. My rear disc always make a sound even after changing new pads. To make the sound go away, I used to pour water on the brake pads and the sounds stops. But I can't afford to this everyday.
5. My front forks and rear shocks are becoming very hard, and sometimes riding offroad makes the body very tiresome. I read somewhere in this thread, that one can cange with ZMA fork spring in the CBZ. Is this alright.
6. Any suggestion with what rear shocks to fit, so that I can get a comfy ride. (Can gas can rear's shock be fitted in CBZ?)
7. Which tryes will best suit for a CBZ beside the stocks: 1. Michelin Sirac street or Dunlop Monster. (right now I am using Front Ceat Secura and Rear Dunlop Geo -Cruiser. Secura vibes too much because of the buttons grips. But off-roads are just ok.)
8. My steering always makes a noise "tak, tak, kdak" in speed breaks and while going offroads. I have changed the bearings/balls maybe 4 times, still the problems persist. Sometimes I feel like the handle bar is going to fall off!!! Oh! yes, I have changed the 'T' also.
9. Last 3 days I thought of selling my bike. Due to the remoteness of my place, and nearest authorize dealer 100 kms away, this really hit me hard.
10. I would love to restore the bike to its lost glory.
Please help this is very urgent.
Thanks to you all."on eagles' wings"

1: Spark Plug replacement is needed.Originally posted by adzeals View PostFriends, please help:

2:
3: Go to your mechanic ASAP and have the pipe refitted (and also post a photograph for our reference, perhaps someone with more knowledge will be able to advise you)
4:The drum might be worn out, have that checked, as well as the liner springs. Check for free play from the brake foot lever onwards to the screws that connect at the end.
5:Have the rear shocks adjusted to a softer setting. The oil might need to be replaced as well.
6:Keep it stock, I guess. IMO, the CBZ is very comfortable to ride with the stock suspension.
7:I had the Geo Monster - sort of skittish, but a hard wearing tyre. You could go in for an MRF zapper to suit your style. Refer to the tyre thread. Zapper FS for the front and Zapper Q or Y for the rear. Other people can give inputs regarding Michelin as I have no experience with those.
8:Can only be the Cone set bearings or the fork oil seals. Have both checked.
9:Unfortunately, that's the reality of owning a CBZ, parts are hard to get. I sold it off and bought a used Karizma instead
. However I do love the flickability of the CBZ as well as its riding comfort in the city.
10:Nothing like it. The original CBZ is an amazing machine and while parts are hard to get, if you can get them and restore it, it'll stand out even among the newer bikes.Last edited by AK3D; 10-05-2012, 05:34 PM.

You are right mate,,,,,CBZ is a Bike with super engine,,,,Its an asset to have,,,even one to compete with newer bikes,,,Originally posted by sibun View PostVery few people retain their old bikes when they get new bikes. Now a days most people after riding for 3-4 years just buy new bikes and forget those times when their old bike stood with them be it rain or sun shine.
Some who retain old bikes keep them in such shabby condition that you will feel pity on seeing it. While they will be taking extra care on new bikes but their old bikes will be lying in a pity state.
You are the person who is still retaining your old bike even after buying a CBR. Take good care of the CBZ and it will always be ready to help you.
Remember my words one day your CBR will be standing and your CBZ will come to rescue.
As you can see my signature i have kept my Joy even after buying my CBZ extreme and still keep it like my baby. every other day i alternate between both bikes and i like to ride my joy more than my cbz.
So please post the photos of your cbz after washing and give her a polish. The first model cbz was my weakness and still if i see one standing i just stop and gaze at it. I was requesting my friend who has a old cbz to sell to me as it was a well maintained bike and run very less but he didn't sell it.heres my master,,,
