i wanted to ask you guy about choosing a bike for me. i been using bullet 350 and RE thunderbird. now i want to change that...
i have three options and a;; of them are with my friends.
1: pulsar 200(all new engine parts, wiring kit and most of the body parts)
2: old hero honda cbz (moded with alloys and tires 15" 150mm rear and 16" 120mm front)
    3: yamaha fz 16(stock)
i would like to know your opinions about the ride quality, performance and durability of these bikes. so please help me out here. i am in a total confusion over which one to choose.
    Hi Hari,

It seems that you are downgrading. Hence you had bullets you won't get those perfomence in these short listed bikes
If for performance go for 200 oil cooled which is hard to get by these days and very good engine as well , also consider yourself as lucky

If you are going for beauty go for the the legend cee bee zeee ,those muscular looks and good performance, I am an owner of cbz star. Here you are again lucky because its handled by your friend.

Fz - Personally I won't go for it , I will give an average rating , very small bike .

and above all those bike are your friends, go take a ride on all three and see the differences yourself and take a good decision. Moreover its riders comfort ! to be accounted for

    Ride quality
    1) 200 & fz
    2) cbz

    Perf
    1) 200
    2) cbz
    3) fz

    Durablilty

    1) CBZ
    2) 200
    3) fz

Is this true ? I still not sure! I got an email from xbhp saying that xbhp.com is shutting down , what the ... Is this , why they are winding this up man. We all need this site, everyone need this , we need to raise voice shouldn't we ?
Buddy, we cannot raise our voice. What we can only do is to humbly request them not to shut down because we all depend on this blogsite heavily. Everybody has received the mail. It seems they're shutting it down.

Crap stuff! 99% of the content is user generated. Taking such users for granted is a definite bad idea!!! For a simple site redesign!! Quite peeved with the entire approach honestly
If you are not afraid, you have probably chosen too easy a mountain to climb!!

            • Hi Experts,

I have come up with something . My cbz star tachometer is not working. Can someone guide me
Is there an option to manually test tach meter itself to test whether it is working ?
I checked the cable which goes to ignition as well as CDI , it seems there are no any loose connection or even a wire cut at a glance .

Pls tell what all things to check

              Thanks

I was run out of options and time there are many threads I needed like ac/dc conversion, DIY led, then i shortlisted CBZ classic thread bcoz its much more important. i believe that while they re designed the site they should have the change the name from xbhp to xprankies.com.

They even didnt approved my thread against shutting down the site under news section.

And hopefully they had retained everything moreover they never intended to shutdown the site they need their users to see like clowns or buffoons thats they needed even they sent email with a short notice just a day before their prank .

                      • hav cbz star with 41k kms done.. 3 weeks ago, I changed air filter with original one (Hero Honda) at that time sound remarkably changed. I feel bass when I pull throttle, it was awesome sound. But 4 days ago the bass is surprisingly gone & sound becomes changed to the old one . I cant detect the reason for that. what are the factors that affect the sound?? I just want to restore the bass.. help me to do so.

Seems the bass effect was due to the air filter you had on the bike earlier. Same thing happened with me also a couple of weeks back. My CBZ's engine was in bad condition even after continuous service by an authorized SVC in Pune. And pretty soon, the cam-shaft and rocker screwed too. Then I had no other option than to give her to a better SVC. They changed the cam-shaft and rocker and along with that they did something with the air filter and the noted CBZ firing was gone. It now spits out firing of a muffled Apache. Engine has become quite smooth now, but the firing is gone. I wanted that old CBZ firing back, but at the moment, I don't want to mess up with the filter/engine again. So kept it like that only. Firing note is a combined work of filter and the smoothness of engine, with air filter playing a major role.

                            • Is K&N helpful in this case??
I think exhaust also plays an imp role in sound...

K&N will definitely boost the bass note of firing and will also give some pick-up boost, provided you perform an equal up-jetting. But I'd recommend you first go to through the xbhp thread which discusses air filters. Everything you need to know about air filter mod is discussed to the end in there. But bottomline is - stick to stock. They deliver one machine as a result of research of 100 brains. One brain trying to do 100 mods on the same machine will ultimately screw up the machine.
