guess the rubber bushes have gone hard with time.. get new rubber for the tank nut under seat and fit rubber bushes in the front as well.. also i have seen the leg guard making vibrations. get it opened and put rubber/gasket bushes and get it tightened.. though CBZ's vibes would never go away but can be reduced to certain amount..Originally posted by metalghost View Post"A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

CBZ Classic TB Green... Only a few left running on the road
Hi Guys..
I have a CBZ classic... Drum Brakes... 1999 Model... First Lot Chassis No 00066...
Clocked 75K Kms on the Odometer but still runs like a whip... Am doing a lot of road trips around Mumbai... amazed to find even after 14 years of running, the bike is easily pulling the Maharashtra ghats on 4th-5th... the insane steep climbs need a downshift to 2nd-3rd...
Problems... Well nothing major till now.. Engine untouched except a busted exhaust valve... Getting a mileage of around 42 Km/l in the city and similar on the Highway...
Biggest problem.. Headlamp seems too too dim these days compared to the bikes emitting brilliant bright headlights...
Recently got an electrical mod... connecting the headlight directly to the battery... replaced the stock 2.5A battery with a new 5A battery... With standard halogen lamps the headlight still is not as bright as it should be... Can anyone suggest a place in Mumbai/Pune where may be I can get a Plain glass multi-reftector headlight assembly? I dont want to instal HID coz I guess the wiring will give up with the electrical load...
Body parts have now become a pain to fetch... especially in Mumbai.. so once the original fairing broke I HAD to get an aftermarket one (that keeps breaking if I wrench a screw a bit too tight). Hero Honda just refuses to acknowledge the bike's existence and denies to take any special orders too...
Need a real good mechanic in Mumbai/Pune who does not believe in replacing the original parts with the aftermarket parts... any help would be highly appreciated...
Cheers

Faced a similar problem sometime back... Bizarre firing and jerky rides at cruising speeds... nothing was happening when I was revving or riding at high speeds... Tried for weeks getting rid of it but ended up in a minor replacement job. There is a rubber coupling between the carburetor and the cylinder that had leaked due to ageing... replaced it and it was like magic.. It costed me me some 50 bucks for the repair...Originally posted by satya_3d View Postmy 1999 CBZ is having some serious problems with her engine. bike gives hicc-ups, or say jerks while cruising from 10kmph to onwards.. in fifth gear while at doing 40~50kmph engine gives jerks. dont know what ios the exact proble. till date havent changed anything from engine except valve timing chain and its pads. can anyone help me out understanding the problem. i am from pune any refering to mechanic who has good skills to deal with such problems?

Buddy, first of all, that's a wonderful pure CBZ you've got. First lot chassis..!!! That honestly gave me goosebumps.Originally posted by anujeet13 View PostHi Guys..

Now with parts..yes, it is next to impossible to fetch original body parts of CBZ and any HH dealer conveniently denies to touch this bike with authority as even he doesn't want to get into unwanted trouble. But there is one shop in Pune which still stores body parts of CBZ, which they claim are originals - Geeta Auto Agencies, Nanapeth. Even HH service center redirected me once to this merchant. Considering the fact that parts are no more available in market easily, Geeta Auto Agencies sell these parts for exorbitant prices I heard. I've never been there, but heard several mechanics also recommending this place. So, if you are interested, you can try this one.
Now regarding the headlight..even I'm facing same problem, but still not able to find a proper solution for the same. You have to check with other veterans around in here for a permanent solution.

Regarding the headlight i've seen a couple of pics on the net... One of them has the Xtreme's clear lens reflector headlight installed inside the original CBZ visor... and the other has the reflector in the original headlight replaced with a projector lamp for HID....Originally posted by metalghost View PostBuddy, first of all, that's a wonderful pure CBZ you've got. But I didn't go too deeply into those.... However my mechanic did assure me that the original headlight can be replaced with a clear lens one without having to change the visor.....

Hi guys,
My bikes engine turns off while running and doesn't start for few mins. Had this problem 1 yr back when they checked the electricals and it was fine. but same issue coming up again. and this time very often.
Electricals checked, spark plug & cap changed, wiring kit replaced, coil rewinding done, but still it happens once in a month. Does any one know why this happens and what is the solution for this

Does your engine gets overheated before stall?Originally posted by pradeeme View PostHi guys,

Buddy, I checked with my mechanic who confirmed lens of Classic cannot be replaced with that of Extreme. There's a slight difference in shape between two due to which the new one will not fit into visor of Classic. He suggested to check aftermarket for new Classic-lens, but I'm a bit hesitant to let go the original lens even though it only emits some candle light nowadays. Even I'm a bit confused here. One of my friends who replaced original with an aftermarket one is receiving good bright light with it, but I'm still on my backfoot. My mechanic also suggested to try HID but I'm somehow against that concept of milky white light.Originally posted by chand_cbz View PostRegarding the headlight i've seen a couple of pics on the net... Thanks man for liking my pics... It took a lot of effort to keep my machine up and running and maintaining her good looks... given Mumbai air just keeps bringing out red patches of rust anywhere the metal is exposed to the air... Now that she has turned a teenager, I do expect some teen behaviour from herOriginally posted by metalghost View PostBuddy, first of all, that's a wonderful pure CBZ you've got. Great!... Was in Pune yesterday itself... checked the post a day too late... anyways will go and visit Geeta Auto the next time I am in Pune
Lets see what can be fetched...
Regarding the headlamp issue, I got a local mechanic to mod the wiring... installed a 5Ah battery and connected the headlamp to the battery directly. Also with some mods inside the reftector, got the Avenger 55w/60w halogen headlamp installed... it is now definitely a lot better than the the stock headlamp kit but I need to keep switching off the headlight in stop and go traffic coz it is draining out the battery way too much... on the highway I did not face the draining out problem as the battery though... I am somehow not in favour of HIDs coz I have heard extreme mixed reviews...

Did not find any clear glass multi reflector headlamp for the classic even in the aftermarket... and the Extreme unit does not fit onto the classic fairing...Originally posted by metalghost View PostBuddy, I checked with my mechanic who confirmed lens of Classic cannot be replaced with that of Extreme.
