Re: Hero Honda CBZ Classic
Hey guys.....
Just got my ride moved to hyderabad
As soon as I took it I found a few new troubles..
Somehow the engine revs as high as 4.5k rpm without me ever touching the accelerator.... huge pain in the stop and go traffic!
Then I just checked the choke switch and it was off (lower most position). The revs went down after I fiddled with the switch but the same problem started again after I rode a few kms..
Another thing I always ovserved was that there is a slight revving whenever I turn the handlebar to the right. The reason for this, I assumed, was that the accelerator cable being a bit tight was getting stretched when I turned the handlebar to the extreme right position.
Thus issue took the joy out of riding for me all through yesterday

Help me CBZians!
I'm new to the city so I'm also in need of a trustworthy mechanic.. hopefully around the dilsukhnagar area.
Thanks,
Chand (:The thirst for knowledge never ends........

Re: Hero Honda CBZ Classic
Hi Chand,
You may be correct. Visually inspect the throttle cable for crack/damage. If you've not changed it since long then not a bad idea to do so. Also check if the cable is being obstructed somewhere (assuming you have not changed the steering to a straight one)Contribute to the environment.

The revs only go upto 2.5~3k rpm when steered to the right.. but the actual problem is that the engine is revving upto 4.5k when in neutral or when I pull the clutch lever completely back.. almost as if the choke is on!!The thirst for knowledge never ends........

Re: Hero Honda CBZ Classic
Take the bike to mech and ask him to set idle rpm..then start the bike..put it in neutral .then turn the handle bar from lock-to-lock to check for revving..if the problem still exists, try adjusting throttle cable for play..if it happens even after that u might want to replace throttle cable..in each step you have to check for revving by turning the handlebar..I do not suspect it is the problem with choke lever..all the best..Originally posted by chand_cbz View Postnirvaana
