Does that have anything to do with the weight difference between alloy and steel? I am just asking, I do not know the true reason. If the reason for mileage drop has to do something with the weight difference between alloy and steel, then wouldn't the same reason affect the top speed also?
^^^Mileage drop on switching from steel to alloy apart from weight increase (if any) is hard to imagine. Maybe those guys would have gone for a change in rubbers too (stickier/broader/heavier tyres) which resulted in a FE drop.

On paper any increase in weight will affect top speed and mileage but what i wanted to stess was that this alone by NO means will drop the top speed from 105 to 90kmph. There must be some other variables causing/adding to it.

The statement that alloy is heavier than steel is still inconclusive.

Yup, quite possible. They might also have fiddled with the tire specification to enhance the looks after they installed alloys, and messed the fuel efficiency. Anyway, after going through several websites on wheel weight comparison, I agree alloys are lighter than steel. Apologies for posting wrong information.

In case of my CBZ the tyres were same stock ones. Replacing clutch plates too did not give expected results in terms of top speed. Waiting for some suggestions to solve the problem completely. Probably modifications are not completely perfect like original fittings on a vehicle. But the fact is even with minor drop in performance CBZ is complete fun to ride.

        • All Super Sprinters out there, please be informed, I received the CBZ work-shop manual yesterday by courier from Diffuser. As mentioned by Diffuser, the manual spiral bound and is in good condition even though it is not an original print. A few pages are illegible due to fading of copier ink. But still, I'm sure this is a good news for all of you all out there. I will start uploading the manual part by part as it is a very big book of more than 100 pages. Lol...I was under the impression it would be a small handbook kinda thing. I will start uploading the same by Wednesday (14.11.2012) as my office has chutti till 13.11.2012. If somebody wants any particular pages only, please IM me. I'll scan those page(s) and mail you. I also received a users' manual along with the work-shop manual, but it seems some pages are missing from it. But anyway, I assume work-shop manual is more important and I will do the job shortly. Have a nice weekend and Happy Diwali and Prosperous New Year ahead all Super Sprinters out there... Take care.

CBZ with 3 spoke alloys. These were pretty heavy though.

Plz check your fueling too as you say there's a performance drop noticed. If you have the spoke wheels still with you then you can try to switch back to confirm if top speed getting a hit due to them.

I think you can upload to a file sharing site like mediafire, then post the link here.

                      • You can check this by going to a place where bikes are dismantled and sold as used ones,,,there you can see all types of alloys ,OEM ones, aftermarket ones, and spoke ones.Check weights of all and see,,,OEM will always give priority for mileage and strength then only looks come. You can see in oem the leafs wont be full shaped rather a grove will be there at another end to make it light weight compromising looks,,,5 spoke is also good in looks dear,,,just see these pics,,,Click image for larger version

                          • Guys, I scanned 60 pages till now and total file size is 35MB..! It took me more than an hour to do till this. Yet, I think it is just 25% of the total number of pages. Manual is of more than 250 pages, it seems. Can't sit more in office now, they will screw me for sitting late without valid reasons. I will scan resting pages soon and upload all the scans together. Request, please be patient, all of you. I WILL DO THE JOB.

Guys, done 80 more pages yesterday. I believe only 50-60 pages left now. Will be uploading the manual by this Saturday, hopefully. Till then, keep revving...

Buddies, as promised, IT'S DONE! You can find the complete workshop manual for Classic CBZ in the link given below. I couldn't merge the scans/files into one big file. All pages have been scanned separately. But I have named all files neatly for your convenience, starting from front cover till back cover. Total file size is 105.33MB and there are 209 files/pages. Kindly check and let me know whether any of the pages are illegible. I will try to rescan those pages and upload again, or may be Diffuser will do it for you. He said that...!!! Honestly...!!! Hehehe.. Anyway, all you have to do now is download, un-rar and print (if required and please print back-to-back so you don't waste paper) and then make your CBZ look like she's just out of the showroom and make others stare at her with jealousy eyes... Hehehe.. And please do not forget to update more info about your CBZ here again. Please keep the thread alive, everyone. Keep revvvvvviiiinggggg.............!
