It also has an inverted suspension in the front, which again, technically speaking, is little too much. Its a perfect show off vechicle. Having all these mods done, can one expect the standard performance to be dropped?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Something interesting that I want to share with my fellow Ninja owners. I hope you all find it useful.
Speedworks
I have used the OWS engine oil, the Engine Protector (engine oil additive) and the injector cleaner in my esteem and found the products to be good.
My next oil change will be from Motul Semi Synth to the OWS 600 Series Fully Synth 15W50 oil with the engine oil additive. Will also use their coolant and post a review on the performance (cooling area). I found the prices to be reasonable compared to Motul's synthetic oils.
Order online if interested.
P.S. I have no commercial or any other vested interest in this company or their products. Just sharing this piece of info for the benefit of others.
Edit - One more link I came across but have no experience with products from this store : http://www.pro10.in/Last edited by n_aditya; 01-19-2011, 04:23 PM.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

One query
I own a RE Thunderbird.
Last month i decided to buy R15.
But before i put down the money i asked my friend if i can have his R15 for couple of days.
I kept the bike for two days. But after riding it in city and highway i find out that R15 is not my taste.
I just love torque at low RPM but R15 lacks torque (may be because of my current bike i feel so).
Also i did not find any major difference in R15 and other 150cc available in market until i cross 7K on odo.
No doubt acceleration i amazing but after 7 k R15 is a rocket
. And the city i am in i rarely find any occasion to cross that number.
So my question is does ninja provide good feeling of torque at low rpm?
I rode GT250 once and just loved it.
Does ninja provides the same(or even more
) pleasure of riding at low speed or one have to make it scream for that?
My max speed of riding is 60km/h.
Thank you
PS: No offence to R15 owner

Please dont compare the torque of the bullet to that of the ninja. The Ninja has linear acceleration where peak power is at the higher revv's. Upto 6k RPM it is very sedate and pottles around in traffic without knocking. I have accelerated at 45kmph in 6th gear without any issues on my ninja but dont expect it to pull like a train... err bullet.Originally posted by amandeepkamboj19 View PostI own a RE Thunderbird. Since you ride only at double digit speeds you wouldnt be doing justice to the ninja. The bike feels great once you step into the higher part of the revv band, till then its like a normal easy going bike.
Why dont you test ride a ninja? Maybe it'll answer your queries better.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

@aditya:Hi dude,on the topic of synthetic oil,i tried on Motul 300v fully synthetic 15w50 for the 2nd service oil change. It costs INR 825/litre here in chennai.
The upside for synthetic oil, slicker gear shifting even after a prolonged run at top whack, the engine is still smooth against a tad roughness with castrol 20w50.
Was glad to change from those ridiculous bajaj dtsi oil,the freaking oil didnt even last 1000kms.RINGADINGDOO!!!!

Sorry to barge in here uninvited, but both Ninja and R15 are more or less the same bike except that Ninja has a bigger heart. The power band for both the bikes start after 6K. And its no fun riding Ninja at 60 KMPH. Add a 1 before it and thats more like it for the Ninja. Like Aditya has mentioned that wouldnt be fair on the Ninja using it for puttering around the city its a real highway mile muncher.
IMHO you are better of with cruisers or FZ/Fazer , sports bikes are not to your taste from what you have described

in theory using fully syth oil is not good for your engine at least for about 10,000 kms. its better to use mineral oil for 10,000 kms atleast and then switch over to fully synth if required.Originally posted by rajivenky View Post@aditya:Hi dude,on the topic of synthetic oil,i tried on Motul 300v fully synthetic 15w50 for the 2nd service oil change. It costs INR 825/litre here in chennai.

if you are keen on details see my post in the oil thread or search net on danger of using fully synth oil on a new engine.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water
