Absolutely agree with it. When time comes to sale your bike, you can say that it is a 2012 model and not 2011. Even if both the models may not have absolutely any difference, it shows that your bike is newer.Originally posted by kiran_borra View PostIf you are planning to take the delivery in December, why not wait for 30 more days and take the delivery in Jan.... The year of registration has an effect on your resale
Normally later year versions are announced 2-3 months before the year actually starts. However, as of now, no one knows whether the N250 sold in India in 2012 would be any different than the one currently sold.Originally posted by vinbex View Postso,i have to book in january only?or,is it possible to book the 12 version in november or something?Never argue with an idiot. The hyosungs are only gonna come in by end of 2012Originally posted by kiran_borra View Post100% for the Plastics !!!!
Eagerly waiting for your answer Aditya
Nice Stuff there...
The frame sliders look good.
I suppose the KRP Frame sliders are designed the same way.
What I learnt from this forum is that everyone following the regular run-in as per the manual hardly have seen any metal flakes in the oil
Presently I'm following the regular run-in and my speedo is at 500...
Regarding the registration, normally it just takes a week's time to get the permanent number.
The Temporary Registration number provided to you is valid only for one month.
If you are planning to take the delivery in December, why not wait for 30 more days and take the delivery in Jan.... The year of registration has an effect on your resale
Also Hyosung GT250R (The real competitor to N250R) is expected to come by next year.. You can wait for that bike if interested

Ah, well, maybe the flakes are just my motorcycle, then. I'll come to know with time. Will harass the Probiking fellows for my number. I want to do a highway run! Thank you for the information.
I haven't ridden the Comet, but I've been told that it feels big and heavy because the chassis is built for the 650cc engine. Will come to know in a few weeks when I get to ride the bike
I'm expecting big things in a year or two from the Ninja 250 - now that the CBR's here, Kawasaki can't afford to give its customers all-analog dials etcOriginally posted by trustvishwas View PostHowever, as of now, no one knows whether the N250 sold in India in 2012 would be any different than the one currently sold.
Has anyone tried a hugger-type fitment like the R15's? Any success? And I've managed to get the service manuals. I'm not sure what the copyright laws are about them, so if you would like them please PM me and we'll take it from there.

Green looks the completely mean, because of the contrast of black alloys over the green frames...Green is the colour to go for..Anyway when you pay such a price,it should definitely command the necessary attention..Its a pity cos black doesn't.Originally posted by pushkarb View PostWell IMHO,
Black is for
1. People who don't want much of attention.
2. People who want to look good any day on whatever they wear.
3. Black being an universal color.
Green is for
1. The History behind it. Respecting the bike's legacy.
2. Of course, all the attention on the road as well.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I did quite a bit of research and decided to continue with Oriental for the second year as well.Originally posted by xionite View Post@aditya: a couple of months ago you mentioned something about an extra that you paid on your insurance premium for your ninja where plastic parts were covered 100% incase of a claim. how about a few details please.
I opted for nil depreciation top up cover which means in the event of a claim the insurance company pays the full amount of the claim (no depreciation is calculated for any part, plastic or metal, meaning total cost of the part is paid). The owner only has to pay the mandatory deductible which is 1% of the IDV or 250 bucks whichever is higher. Of course there is no cashless claim feature if someone wants me to clarify this as well.
Example - fairing to be replaced after a crash. Cost 11k (assumption/guesstimate). Normally only 50% is paid by the insurance co. In the above top up cover they would pay the full amount of 11k and the owner only needs to pay 1% of the IDV or 250 bucks whichever is higher. Here my IDV is 2.49L and 1% is ~2500 bucks. Therefore all i pay irrespective of the claim amount is 2500 bucks.
P.S. They dont divulge these details as the ninja is considered an accident prone vehicle
and its financially no benefit for them to offer this cover.
Oh yeah, i forgot, the top up cover costs 500 bucks over and above the premium amount. I managed to get a discount and paid only 200 bucks for it in addition to the NCB on the Premium.

how are you doing now Harsha? dont worry, you and your bike will be reunited soonOriginally posted by harsha645 View Posthai everyone..had a crash on my baby yesterday..no serious injuries to me thanks to my gear..but ninja took hard beating.right now i am having oriental insurance which will expire in a week..due to the crash i am planning to continue with the same insurance plan...
regarding the damage to my bike...right and left fairing, front cowl need to be replaced.front alloy is broken would like to know how much does the insurance covers on the metal parts because i remember that 100%coverage for the metal parts...and the exhaust had a bent and the mechanic at pk said that he need to check the bike to tell whether there is any need for the replacement for exhaust or not..would like to know..would like to your inputs regarding the cost of exhaust and what % of the cost of exhaust will the insurance cover??..would be happy if replied soon as i am going to visit the pbk showroom tomorrow to claim insurance
! regarding the oriental insurance cover %, 50% is for all the plastics and electricals. the inspector also said that we can't claim 100% of the metal parts as they'd factor in the depreciation value
my bike is 10 months old and apparently i'd get a maximum of 87% on the metal parts!
i got the xx10 purely because of it's bulk (i know it isn't absolutely necessary but stronger the better) and read few complaints about the xx6. if i were you, i'd buy few spare batteries too! btw the xx10 has served me well and its loud too!Originally posted by kariznin View PostI planning to get Xena Disc Locks for Ninja. Looking at their product range on their websites, they have many series for that. I read on the thread before people here are using XX6 model. Can this one be easily fit on to the rear disc also or they are just for the front ones ?
If I get XX10/XX14, what they have extra that XX6 doesn't? Anybody using these please give in your suggestions.
I am confused for which model should I go for ???

I'm also VERY eagerly waiting for inputs about different insurance policies from our ninja seniors! mine is due in august for any suggestions are much appreciated?!Originally posted by kiran_borra View Post100% for the Plastics !!!!

i wasn't there for the 1st service but i hope they serviced her well! (specially the pathetic state of servicing at pbk hyderabad). btw i've stuck to 4krpm till 400km and then 6krpm till 800km and afterwards i've done the hard run-in!
yes the registration does take about a week's time

My pleasure. No other company was offering this top-up for 2 wheelers.Originally posted by therealabhinav View Post^^^ THANK YOU Aditya! looks like you've made the job of choosing the cover and company much easier! i wanted a near enough 100% cover and i don't mind paying even a couple of 1000rs extra!
ICICI Prudential and Bajaj Allianz were very close on the premium amount and the IDV but they weren't ready to cover the ninja, top up was out of the question.
So went ahead with Oriental itself.

Any idea if I can upgrade my insurance plan to the one you have menitoned?
Btw, my Insurance plan is just 2 weeks old
And one more question is even for a brand new bike, Oriental gave me the IDV of around 10k lesser than the ex=showroom price...
Is this as per any rule or I'm the only Lucky one here
