You can visually see whether brake pads have worn out or not. I changed the first pair around 7-8,000 km.Originally posted by sreehari_r1 View PostThanks for updating. How will we know the brake pad is worn out?

Vishwas can you tell me what is done in servicing ?Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostUpdate : Did 18,000 km servicing today. Cost was quite reasonable. Of course, I had changed engine oil earlier so the cost of engine oil is not included here. Main cost here was change of front brake pads.
Like in ordinary carborator bike SVC peoples do (1) Clean carborator (2) Clean Filter (3) Set Average by moving carborator screw (5) Changing Engine Oil Depends on owner (5) Oiling chain (6) Oiling Clutch (7) Oiling accelerator wire (8) Washing bike .
What SVC peoples actually do in Ninja Servicing ?

5) Clean and oil air filter element
6) Wheel alignment
7) Check/adjust chain slack, chain lubrication.
8) Headlamps level adjustment
9) Spark plug cleaning/replacement x 2
10) Clutch/accelerator cable play check/adjustment

This is what I remember from memory - for more details I can check up the manual and let you know.

Inputs needed
This evening, while riding the bike, when I shifted the gear to 2nd, suddenly the bike stopped. It stopped exactly the way it stops when the gear is shifted from neutral to 1st or 2nd while it is still on side stand.
I started the bike again and tried to 'recreate' this issue by riding slowly and shifting gears but the issue did not occur again and the bike rode fine.
Any ideas why this could have occured? Impurity in spark plug? Or something else?

Could be a possible sensor issue. It is good to have it checked once. Did the FI light come on at any point?Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostThis evening, while riding the bike, when I shifted the gear to 2nd, suddenly the bike stopped. The 'Wheel alignment' part was done for your bike sir @ 12k service?Originally posted by bluevolt View Post18,000 kms is a minor service, but during the major service of 12,000 and 24,000, here are the some of the things which are done during the service:

As, I don't think they wouldn't be able to provide this here as no tool/machinery I found in PBK SVC, Delhi for Wheel alignment.

Ah.. no 650R man. That is a practical bike, and I already have a fast, practical bike for my touring. I was thinking something more exotic - lets see who comes on top; my head or my heart. My head tells me I have all the bike I need for the Indian roads, and my heart says something else. The problem with being 35 years old is that you start looking at the practical side all the time, and indulgence does take the back seat. Let's see how this turns out. But in no hurry, will probably wait it out till end of this year and wait for some more options to start cluttering my already jumbled head. By the way, I have outgrown my HD XR1200x fancy and probably the monster 796 too!Originally posted by TenHut View PostHaha..coming back to this thread feels like coming back home.

New job, but luckily that is just down the road from my old office, so problem there at all, still in cool Bangalore! Let me know when you are in town, lets meet up again my friend!
Adiboy is omnipresent - I am sure he will reply to this post before the sun is down this evening!
When I meant wheel alignment(not balancing), I meant only the rear wheel. That is done when they loosen up the rear wheel for adjusting chain slack, and when they tighten it, they make sure that the notches match up.Originally posted by kariznin View PostThe 'Wheel alignment' part was done for your bike sir @ 12k service?

Awesome !!! Great to hear that you are coming to Blore. When? When? When?Originally posted by TenHut View PostCatch up with u soon..gonna be in bang lore for days together soon. Does n_aditya frequent this thread still ?
I'm still here, at least on the Ninja thread.
Is a trackday on the cards? If yes, i'd love to track my ninja, infact waiting for an opportunity to. Do reserve a few days for us so we can show you around in Blore.
Monster 1100? Streetfighter? Triumph? BMW? A lil birdie also mentioned that the MV Agusta is going to be launched, no info on the date though.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostBy the way, I have outgrown my HD XR1200x fancy and probably the monster 796 too!

P.S. Anyone know why the Ducati Hyper retard.. oops hypermotard
is not as popular as the other models?
