Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
The bike met with a small accident. Teenaged nephew fell with the bike and it skid for 10-15 feet. Right side front fairing has taken the brunt. Scratches on the front mud guard, right handle weight, brake lever, and the muffler guard.
The cone set seems to be damaged too. The turning feels wobbly and there is that 'thud' over every bump. Even the fairing is vibrating more.
Will try and do a DIY for the cone set as I don't trust the SVC guys. Will also open up the entire fairing to check for any internal damages.
Anyone with any gyaan on a DIY for cone set replacement would be appreciated.
Also anything else I need to check after a crash like this?

My bike had met with an exact type of damage. Please check if your bike is covered under INSURANCE. If yes, please go for it.Originally posted by Harvinder View PostThe bike met with a small accident. Teenaged nephew fell with the bike and it skid for 10-15 feet. Call up your insurer and go to the ASC accordingly. Much lighter on the pocket. In my case, my bike was just about less than 3 years old. The total cost came up to 11,000. Out of that, I had to pay only 1500. Just don't tell the insurance guys that your nephew was on the wheels. Tell them it was you!Current: Hero Karizma ZMR || Royal Enfield Bullet CI

Adding to what Raaj posted above, get the front forks, handle bar checked for bends. Get the damaged bar end weight replaced for sure.Originally posted by Harvinder View PostAlso anything else I need to check after a crash like this?
Hope the rider is not badly hurt.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Thanks guys. I guess I'll give the DIY a miss this time and head for the SVC as a lot of critical parts are involved.
I wonder how much the insurer will compensate for plastic parts. I'm insured with National Insurance. Will check with my agent.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
While cleaning my front disk pads yesterday, I noticed that one pad was far more worn out than the other. In fact, one was practically new while the other was worn down to the metal. Is this normal? Aren't they supposed to wear out evenly? If so, is there a problem with the brake pistons, or fluid? But the brake is working fine with good bite and no lag. Somebody torch-maro please.

Open the pistons, clean and lube them. They're not moving freely. You should have even wear on both pads.Originally posted by Harvinder View PostWhile cleaning my front disk pads yesterday, I noticed that one pad was far more worn out than the other. And the lines are backOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostNice to know it helped.
Do share before and after pics so that members get an idea of the whole thing and they may use it when needed.
, I read somewhere that one should be careful to NOT use any nail polish remover which has any type of oils in it(thought i should share here). And yes I read this after cleaning my bike :P
I'm taking the bike for service tomorrow as I think the disk pads have worn out and I hope the cleaning guy removes those lines

Sorry to put it this way, aren't they also humans.. don't they have the right to buy something they like? I mean, going by what you are saying, then all the REs should be sold off and in Dehradun, they use RDs for milk delivery..Originally posted by zeeshan300975 View Post

Dear rreneav ... Your apology is accepted. I think that you must stop going to big hospitals & famed doctors & start going to unregistered doctors whose signboard says "Bangali doctor-Hamare yaha purana se purana bimari ka ilaaj santoshjanak kiya jata hey"...(they are called jhola chaap doctors by the doctor fraternity).Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostSorry to put it this way, aren't they also humans.. don't they have the right to buy something they like? After all, they also are humans ... They also have the right to do things that they like.
My attitude was in terms of fun, but your comment was full of arrogance...!!! A true biker must never be arrogant coz u dont know what kind of person you'll be showing your arrogance to, on the road...this is just a biking advice...!!!
Moreover, I don't care whether you got offended or not. My post was a general post, it was not pointed towards you. So before you show your arrogance on my posts, use your grey cells & try to think rationally & logically.
Dear mods,
If you think that posting a funny pic & sharing my personal thoughts on a public forum is somehow not right, please do let me know, I'll not waste even a moment to cancel my membership of this forum or you can cancel it on your own...!!! Thanks ...!!!
