  • bro its the same thing connecting black wire to ground or -ve terminal. ground is indirectly connected to the -ve terminal of battery.
u just do one thing connect that black (ground wire) to the -ve terminal if the battery if u have confusion forget about connecting to the ground.

    Thanks Maverik!

and i guess your warranty has also expired? By machines they meant the charger of MF batteries? Well what's in so special there .

Anyhow since ZMR has 6aH battery i think the battery case will be smaller than that of even zma-r, so check if 9ah amaron is fittable or not

yes it is good and better than HH oil. go for honda 20w50 oil. 10w40 semi synthetic will be better than 20w40 mineral.
im using motul 5100 15w50 semi synthetic finger crossed that it doesnot give any trouble in future, however in lko even 15w50 turns out to be thin due to very hot climate. i wonder what will happen in june-july....
imo change the oil asap and move to 20w40 or 10w40.

on contrary, AFAIK if any 10Wxx oil is semi synthetic then it loses its viscosity very early so 20Wxx will be better then it..

m getting confused among these ratings

Sorry to differ but here the W30 or W40 or W50 matters a lot. 10w or 20w is the lower temperature viscosity. 10W is absolutely fine but don't go below that unless you stay in areas where the temperature is very low always.

I would say stick to W40 grade max unless you stay in Rajasthan to put W50 grade oil

Yes with W50 grade engine gets butter smooth. Only thing is engine doesn't revv high easily. When the oil gets older (say 800-1000kms) your top speed will suffer.

so from your post what i am getting is that 10W40 will be best for our bike(in normal conditions)..right?

                  • Thanks for the welcome Neeraj , Anmol.

                    To begin ..........

I thought its time to get a new bike cause the one i have is 8 years old Just checked which bikes are in market performing well. Come across Pulsar 220 & Apache RTR 180 got confused in both , asked my mechanic which will be good. The mechanic is good friend of me ,
"he told my that PULSAR is not good one as i uses bikes for several years then don't think about PULSAR cause after 1 years its engine will give up , its like china mobile everything in low price but with no quality . Apache is good but now a days its a common , there are lots more in market . Why don't you go for ZMR ?"
At that time i first time heard about ZMR . I asked him that whats it ? He told me its a HERO HONDA KARIZMA ZMR , not the new bike launched in 2009 but as our city is not big , so there are very few ZMR here thats why haven't seen it yet. One of his friend has it so we go to visit him where i drive his bike. And after driving i was amazed with it , it just a perfect bike.
Also as it is of HERO HONDA , its really great one ( As my previous bike Hero Honda Passion which is 8 year old still has no problems in it , no problem yet . will tell about her later ) as Hero Honda is trustable. So i stopped my search on ZMR . Next day i visited Hero Honda showroom in dhule & amazed with their answer's
"Sorry sir but we haven't SOLD any ZMR yet. You have to get it from dealers in Metro Cities."
So while i was left the showroom one man about 40 years come to me & said
i am a broker , you won't get bike anywhere as your not residance of that city . But i will make you ZMR available . You just have to pay 20,000/- rupees extra to me. Ask the main sales manager they will tell you detail.
At that time i was amazed.
I got to garage of my mechanic told him about that , he said its happening now , why don't you ask another city dealer on phone about bike ? I come to home , opened HeroHonda web got dealers numbers from their dealer locator , called the nearest city ( JALGAON ) dealer . They said they have ZMR available in three colours White , Black & Red . And i dont have have to pay any extra money , just the price of bike.
After celebrating the Valentine Day with my first love Hero Honda PASSION , next day i go to Jalgaon HH showroom , checked the 3 ZMR colours they have , The white looking amazing so decided to go for it . They have 3 white ZMR , checked each for crashes , tyres of MRF & selected the one . And get back to Happly to home.
My first experience about ZMR is , its a typical Hero Honda bike having problem of Weak Head Light & no engine kill switch.

But now guys i was facing some problems in it & i need your help for it.

                    1) Petrol Tank is heating , when i drive in evening . I can't able to seat on bike with my legs touching tank , there is a lot more heat. Shown the problem to service center , they said after 3rd or 4th servicing engine will be completely free so there will be no heating.

                    2) Disc of rear disc brake got heated , even though i drive just 4 or 5 km with very few brake use. When i shown it to service center they says it will happen in every disc brake bike the linears are very close to each other , even front disc will be heat but as it get air so it become cold quickly .

                    3) The water out tube joined to petrol tank is twisted below the tank so the water entering through tank cap remains their , though they got it fixed by refitting the tube , but due to that water remained my petrol tank colour is removing .

                    What should i do ?

first of all congrats for your ZMR..you must be feeling special while riding ZMR in your town
& the problem you are facing of tank getting heated up will get automatically solved after couple of services or even before, as your bike's engine is new so its normal for your bike..no need to worry about it..

                        2) yes mine bike's disc also get heats up a lot but it cools down instantaneously.

                        3) regarding paint removal change the tank under warranty.

and congrats for the new bike.

                        • great buddy. Even i rode LML freedom 125 Prima (Disc) for 6 years, and Karizma being my dream bike since then.
                          Nice to hear your story.

Yeah i agree with you that the Headlight is quite dim for night riding. I was thinking of fitting a Night breaker bulb or a LED Bulb(low power consumption) as the headlight.

And it's been 9 days and my shadowfax clocked 515km. . Heating problem is not a much issue on my side. i.e there is a little bit heat but not that much which is unbearable in your case. But the problem with me is of the fairing noise and some chain noise. It becomes sometime unbearable.

                            • my zmr had a fall today!!!

I forgot my mobile at home and thinking about that I was trying the bike in the parking lot.. The side stand was not kicked out properly and the bike fell down

There were minor scratches on the handle, left side fairing and on the back saree guard foot rest part...

Will there be any problem because of this minor fall?? Do I need to get it checked??

Its just 10 days that I had got the bike and I'm very unhappy

Excepting for the scratches, no harm can come to the ZMR,due to stationary drop. The bike is solidly built and can withstand this kind of bruising without any problem..
