hi sharan...i need to clarify one thing. i own Hunk now. i am planning for ZMR. but i have a doubt that whether ZMR would be a considerable upgrade when compared to Hunk. if there will be a minor difference in terms of performance, then going for ZMR from Hunk will not make much difference. I could wait for HX250, but the real thing is all the latest tech will not be much useful for me and in my city since iam not a such kind of rider. even though i have latest tech bike, if iam not using it , there is no point in buying it. that's the reason i opted ZMR over HX250(another reason ZMR engine is Proven while HX250 engine is yet to be proven.)
I asked you this since you have TR ZMR'14

    Thanks in adv.

ZMR is a proper upgrade for you specially if you are on budget as ZMR 2014 is retailing around 1.15 lac on road in delhi whereas hx250r will retail around 1.65 to 1.75lacs. As far as performance is concerned, ZMR is in a totally different league in comparison to hunk or other 150cc bikes. If you are a torque lover than you will love ZMR more than R15 which is a 1.1 lac segment king. R15's power delivery is like squeezing juice out of orange whereas ZMR is more like a jug of fresh juice, pour it and enjoy it....

But let me add something which you may or may not feel useful. Upgrading to a ZMR from Hunk is a very good upgrade as not only it is a bigger bike but is more comfortable. Moreover ZMR is the king of torque. Ride one and then you can feel it. It just pulls like a locomotive. And when the contest is in between horsepower and torque, i like torque more than power. In the Hunk/extreme due to lack of low end grunt you either shift into lower gear or open the throttle and wait for revs to built. Once it enters into power zone it suddenly pulls like turborcharged engine. But in ZMR due to torque it pulls from any rpm as long as engine doesn't lug. An the biggest plus point is the FI. These CV carbs do not have the throttle response nor crispness. My biggest grouse in my extreme is no FI. After riding my Joy which has a direct slide carb CV carb just doesn't have the feel. So the FI is the biggest plus point of ZMR. Also you can cruise at 100 kph both in hunk and also ZMR but the difference is how you can cruise. On hunk engine will be busy reving at 8750 rpm but in the ZMR it will be cruising at around 6000 rpm with the engine feeling super relaxed as if on a song. You know what i am thinking of upgrading but what to do cannot think about selling the CBZ extreme and also the salary feels like a pity. And to both the owners of new ZMR, no photos, no delivery experiences, no feel, no riding experience, no first feelings. What is this? This thread has become only posting ground for we some old timers with no interest from new members. If you all will not post photos, experience, performance how will new persons take decisions to buy the same bikes. Come on post all.

You can scroll back few pages where i toured on my hunk back in chennai. I changed the clutch plates recently and i loved the acceleration and smoothness of the engine.. i am an owner of both ZMR and a Hunk (my bro owns it and he doesnt it these days). I felt my ZMR was not as smooth as the hunk and i felt the acceleration of my ZMR was much less.. i even thought the Clutch plates needed replacement and later after studying about Engine Flush. I tried it and it did wonders.. my ZMR was smooth.. much smooth.. i was cruising at 80-95 kmph on the hunk at above 8000 rpm.. loved the exhaust note at those rpms.. but the engine strained badly and the FE was pretty poor.. less than 35kmpl if I am not wrong.. and go back few pages and read my review on the zmr when i toured to Coimbatore from New Delhi.. crusing at speeds above 100 constantly with minimum breaks.. when i say minimum breaks.. i mean just 2-3 mins break every 200-250 kms.. the bike only got smoother and smoother to ride.. Least FE was 35kmpl and highest was 43 kmpl.. completed 5200 kms ride in 5 days time with 3 days city riding included.. i never had issues with overtakimg any vehicle.. ZMR topped 131kmph..

Now the new ZMR has a better torque and power figures.. i had a TR of the new ZMR the day they started displaying them in showrooms.. the bike is definitely as refined as the old bikes however post 5000rpm. The engine roars.. the mid range adds to it and it will help in touring.. added advantages.. better over takes.. the top speed must have increased for sure by an extent hoping 136 +-2 kmph.. the bike looks better in flesh than in pics...

thanks for the reply guys....i have been following this thread for quite some times. gone through many pages and finally decided it is correct to clarify my doubts here.

if ZMR has high torque, i guess it will be like REs. but whether the torque will affect the riding quality.? my hunk will deliver more torque at lower gears, but post 60kmph, the torque becomes less but feels like very smooth. the thing which i feel uncomfortable in hunk is the short gearing. @42kmph i have to shift it to the 5th gear for comfortable shifting. so i cant rev more in each gears. i heard ZMR is have taller top gears, which i am most looking forward to it.

P.S here in chennai TR is useless sine they allow us to ride in traffic.

No. i never got a chance to ride one. i tried but dint get any. thats the reason iam trying to express everything in words.

This ZEEMR, if i buy it now will serve as my basic commuting bike also, since i have a plan for Real Super Bike in couple of years. This is also one of the reasons iam staying away for HX250R which i feel would not be suitable for commuting like ZEEMR. in short i am trying to stick to my needs.

So i guess ZMR is way better than Hunk during long rides.? with some relaxed engine.

Like they say, there is no replacement to CC.. the bike did its job.. heating was never an issue other than when the temperature was really high.. I rode the bike in all possible conditions in those 7 days.. no roads, straight roads, curvy roads, up slopes, down slopes, rain, dry conditions etc.. the bike was performing pretty good..

the engine doesn't strain and the vibes on the engine is pretty less and the engine is smooth.. No words on how much I enjoyed the ride
