I am a Proud Owner of my Black Pearl.. no where she gave up on me.. This was my First Solo ride.. not a Short one mind you a ~5200 kms ride from Indirapuram, Ghaziabad to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

I completed 1200 kms in 1 day.. i.e in 15 hrs.. continuous ride with minimal breaks.. Luckily, the climate was a bit favorable except today which gave me a big headache.. speeds ranging from 80 kmph to 126 kmph and a top speed of 131 kmph..

I always had a feel what if she gives up on me.. what will I do in the middle of the Road.. no mechanics available on the Highways.. even if any, they have no clue about this bike.. many things striking my mind.. and On the other hand.. I had faith in my Black Pearl..

The best part of the Ride was.. everyone had their eyes on me.. errr.. I mean my Black Pearl.. with all the gears.. people kept asking me.. are you going for a Race.. I said no.. I am going for a tour.. just roaming around :P people even stopped me asking me if I am riding all the way from New Delhi.. People were even more surprised to see that it was a Solo ride.. when they asked how? I just said.. I Trust my Bike and God When I say everyone.. I mean everyone.. every time I overtook a vehicle, the only sound they possibly heard was the chain sound which I personally Love to the core..

I had to hurry back as I applied for sick leaves and my friend was covering up for me and yeah.. No One knows.. I didn't tell my Parents so I had to turn back safe and sound else my Fiance would be in trouble..

Here I am.. safe and sound..

On Open highways.. the bike flies.. when I say flies.. I mean it FLIES.. cross winds.. disaster to ride a ZMR at high speeds.. at one point of time, the wind pushed me and my Black Pearl towards the right side when I was doing 100s.. i had to apply brakes and apply extra weight on the front to bring it back to control.. I seriously wish they did something to the fairing to let the cross winds pass-by.. never the less..

I had wrist pain when I was returning.. that too on the last 2 days.. maybe because I was riding in rain yesterday and the today due to heat? Not sure but this was something new..

I did have a Sore behind when I reached Salem.. but on my return.. I didn't have any pain on my @$$ i am still perfectly fine except my right wrist is paining..

I had a Tough time in Hyderabad and Bangalore with no direction boards, had to use my trusted Nokia Maps to get me to Hosur road and Hyderabad was even worse.. no one knew the way to Bangalore.. again, I had to use the GPS and it took me safely..

On my Return, I had a tough time in Nagpur.. accidentally I entered into the City and phew.. my GPS was showing me en route Bhopal and I didn't want to go via Bhopal so I had to recollect a city from my mind to reach NH7/44 and in Agra.. I hate those useless Direction boards.. I could have just gone the way I knew..

The tires.. they are just perfect.. I am using Michelin Sirac Street up front and MRF Zapper Q at the rear.. perfect grip in rain i must say.. especially the Sirac Street in front They never gave up on me.. I always had a fear for Puncture and I reached safely

this is seriously Ultimate Ride bro Hats off because most of the times people plan tours like this for months and then it doesn workout well.. but sometimes Brave attempts like this clicks off since you wouldn have much expectations right from the start..
And by the way unknowingly you have given us a great Option of using Zapper Q tube as Tubeless by superbly Test driving it in all terrains of India for more than 5000Kms !!

PS: do not try these Daredevil stunts often

Hahaha.. 200+ kms in rain at speeds of 80-100kmph.. the tires gave me confidence.. i applied brakes.. fish tailed a little.. but nothing like the stock or the rear tire of michelin sirac street.. on the other hand.. the front tire i am using (Michelin sirac street) is simply perfect..

By the way.. almost 50kms of no roads towards Hyderabad after 75kms from Nagpur.. tires did their job perfectly.. i am gonna get the sirac street fixed up in front again.. have completed 18000 kms on it and it still has enough rubber to complete another 2000+..

      Touchwood.. no punctures til now

Well said.. the fairing is a bit high.. had they reduced the height.. they have a winner...

@Guys. Can we replace our fairings with the new ZMR ones? I'm saying as they are really much lighter compared to ours.

Bro i think it wont be possible as the showroom service incharge had told me -

" the fairing mounts are completely different in both the bikes. And any alterations with our bikes fairing mounts will result in more vibes"

If they were much lighter than ours.. why does the bike weigh just 2kgs less than ours?? They have removed the Chain Guarda which contribute almost 2kgs..

I feel the headlight assembly of the new bikes are heavier adding to the weight which was reduced..

yeah...you are right. Headlight assebly is heavier than before because new karizma r is 4 kilos heavier than its previous version even after removing the chain guard.

Yes, but considering the beefy tires at the back end..

also, the weight of the bike should have reduced more.. look the rear section of the bike, it has less plastic and tail light is much smaller than the old models.. so the extra weight comes from the fairing and this is just my guess..

but yes, a good point about the weight added to the Karizma-R. If they managed to reduce the weight of both the bikes by 5-8 kgs from the previous generation bikes, it would have been a delight.. but for ZMRs, Crosswinds would be a disaster... saying it out of experience

I feel new karizma brothers are much more aerodynamic than their previous versions which will make things better.

Sporty riding posture kills it according to me.. people preferred Karizma twins for the comfortable long rides.. again. Cant comment on it till one rides it for ling distance.. my back survived the 5000+ kms ride only because of the comfortable riding posture of my bike..

Riding posture is slightly sportier than the old zmr. On the positive side throttle response, low end and mid range is better than older version. Front fairing and tail panels are also much better in terms of quality and finish.

Yes, I noticed. The quality of plastic is far better than the old generation ZMRs the vibrations from plastic have reduced tremendously.. the mid range is far better and sitting posture is more sporty.. I had a test ride and I found the difference but then, after riding my Black Pearl.. I didn't like the new ZMR

I loved the new ZMR in every aspect (except the tall windscreen).
I have been practicing riding in a sporty stance for over a year now to prepare my back for 'that' bike in the next couple of years and the new ZMR felt at home.

Moreover, I love the R15 for its stance. Makes you feel closer to the bike and its handling IMO.
