  • Hey guyzz... 4000 kms on my odo in 3 months...... Just love the ride.
But two problems I am facing, and dont know if any of you faced it too. First of all let me tell you i am a new rider. My bikes been overheating for the last 10 to 15 days and its making a lot of noise. After 30 kms, the bike gets too much heated. Even 4 - 5 buckets of water cant cool it down. I dont think that should happen.
Again, a few days back my friend noticed that the clutch is not disengaging properly. Even if i press the clutch fully, the rear wheel does not rotate freely. I tried adjusting the double nut arrangement in every possible way, but to no avail. Could you please help me out??

Now THAT'S SOMETHING i would LOVE to see in the next TRANSFORMERS movie.....

get the cable checked.. it might be getting slacked.. and never ever pour water over the hot engine.. you are killing it in a very torturous way...

Killing it??? I thought I was helping it out... But you got my point right?? I mean the engine was not so loud before. When I cross 50 kmph, the sound gets a lot rough. Plus there is the overheating. I think the oil needs to be changed. At the first service, the Service Centre guys sort of forced me to put Bajaj DTSI 10000 in the bike. Told me otherwise the warranty would be lapsed. Which oil do you think I should go for??

valvoline 4T Premium.. PERIOD. u should use semi synthetics till maybe 10000kms before you can experiment with synthetics like motul.

It seems that all are happy with their Pl 135 except myself.
I don't know why but sometimes I feel cheated by bajaj.
Firstly the digital fuel gauge is a mess(and by reading different posts it seems that many have faced it), don't know why they had to put a cheap quality sensor(or whatever it is that gauges the amout of fuel left) in the bike it is better not to give it and be old skool than give a bad one.
My gears are also causing some problems sometimes they just get jammed(I have rode 1225kms till now) and I have to use lots of force and it happens around the Netural i.e. sometime at 2nd gear or the 1st gear.

But the main cause that I am writing this post is,

in a month my bike has stalled 2 times,
the first time it stalled was when I was just coming after getting my bikes first service than I thought that the petrol tank would be empty so I drag it to the station and got it filled and it started.
But today it happend again(and yesterday only I had got Rs 300 fuel) I was waiting for the signal the bike was in the 1st gear as soon as the signal went green I released the clutch and the bike went about 1 meter forward and than stopped... I than tried to get it started with the self-start but for no use...
Than I went to a quite corner (there was lot of rush on the road) and tried to start the bike using the self start and the kick start... after 3-4 try with the kick it got started but as soon as I revved it it stalled again it happened 2-3 timed than I just started it and let it be like it, the ODO showed 1k rpm and than started dropping and and the bike stopped again this also happendd 2-3 times and with both self and kick start....
After about 10min of continuous trial the bike started like it should have earlier and I rode it for full 11 km without any problems.

Please can anyone suggest what might be causing this problem, because this is a major problem if it happens during the middle of a heavy traffic.

            Thanks
            1. no fuel guage is perfect as you have liquid splashing inside as you move.. you can be accurate only to a certain extent.. do not expect milli liter accuracy.. we all have teh same problem.. you get used to it..

            2. gear problems could mean one thing.. you dint change your oil in the 1st service (mineral oil is in the engine when you buy your bike so the first service is at 500-750 kms cause minerals dont last long) or else your SVC used a different grade oil.. if you go through this thread its not uncommon to find people complaining about car oils being used and wrong oil grades..

try changing your oil to valvoline 4T just costs 280-350 bucks..

3.you might have your idle speed lowered ( another common problem when people take their bike out of SVCs) go to a decent mechanic and ask him to increase the "idle speed" to 1.2k. see to that the engine is hot and has run quite a few kms

            • hey guys anyone here use 10w40 grade of synthetic or semi synthetic oil in their pulsar 135 ls whos recommendation is 20w50 what is the cons of this in your bike thanks

              Comment

              • u will have engine heating problem at higher speeds

                for a 20w50 recomendation

u can easily go below the figure of 20 or above the figure 50 (eg 10w60,10w50,20w60)

but never try to go above the figure 20 and below 50(eg 10w40,20w40,30w50,etc)

it wont cause much harm if its just normal riding but why take chances?

do u want a very thin oil in ur engine while speeding around and messing up ur piston and cylinder?

                  • Guys I have been watching this thread since a long time

Now the time has come for my first bike.
                    I'm confused between 135ls and p150 ug4.5

My daily need is 8+8kms and occasional 200+kms trips
I need a tourer in 150cc which is strong on the highway .

Regarding 135ls there seems to be many problems in it.
Also comfort is my main priority .Thats why neglected apache

So how good is p135 compared to p150 in comfort and also pillion comfort (for my mother ) ??

Please help a fellow bike enthusiast in this
If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be.

                    • comfort wise 150 cc is better,if you are looking for 150 cc mile-muncher with comfort better opt for unicorn or gs 150 r

Yes I rode p150 few times .And its really comfortable
Regarding unicorn..it felt it very heavy for me .I couldn't control sitting on it with one leg down

I'm yet to try gs150r .As per the official site it weighs same as unicorn.
should I test drive it ?
Ps: I need to travel 40kms for test drive as there is no suzuki showroom in our area.

                                Pulsar 135 top speed @135kmh - YouTube

Guy does a 0-100 run in a little over 11 seconds.. it does sound like it's revving faster.

Thoughts? I don't believe the top speed but the acceleration seems solid.
