They used Motul Chain Cleaner and Lube for me this Monday... but had used white grease when I gave the bike for servicing last week as they didnot have the Motul then... and even if we buy the Motul chain cleaner n lube it will be tough job for a single pesron to apply them without a center stand...Originally posted by riazmomin View PostYamaha R15 | Merida SUB 20MD

Buy a set of degreaser and lube. Motul costs abt Rs 900. OKS costs Rs 650 and is the recommended one for all super bikes. You get in RP Road. De-grease the chain and lube it every 500 kms odd and when the bike is drenched in water or pressure washed. It is expensive but not very expensive.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostAnd, What about chain guyz. I think it needs lots of care. I see Motul Lubes are doing pretty good work, But cant afford them regularly.
They used to charge Rs 50. If it is Rs 100 then no use.Originally posted by synergizer View PostPearl Yamaha, Hyd.. is charging Rs 100/- everytime for the lubrication
Riaz, they use Motul degreaser and Lube. They don't use the normal grease. Cleaning the chain is with degreaser. U can probably apply an old tooth brush lightly after the degreaser is applied (wait for 10 mins and brush).Originally posted by riazmomin View Post100 is too much, And they use only the normal grease.
And I need some technical help here.
How do we clean the chain, Can we clean it with diesel? Does it have any affect on the O-Seals??
Harsha, every horn has a small screw and turning it slightly tunes/detunes the horn. You can take the kit screwdriver and try it yourself. But then, this doesn't fetch much result as the horn itself doesn't sound high. BTW, I have noticed that the R15's horn is not loud but is heard pretty long (it is sharp). I have my Swift's Stebel horns on the attick and shall put them on soon.Originally posted by harshaguduru View Postand if anyone can find out about 'tuning' the horn i will be grateful.
Also, you can buy a TVS/Bajaj (bajaj is the loudest) OEM horn. The Genuine Part packs have either Minda or Roots and they are very good and compact. If you go to Metro, there are a very good range of Bosch horns also. These horns cost between Rs 100 and 150 based on model and place where u buy.

Think indegenously.... Find a piece of wood, pile up stones and place the wood plank on top, lift the bike from the rear grab rail and make it stand on the plank. I did this twiceOriginally posted by synergizer View PostTand even if we buy the Motul chain cleaner n lube it will be tough job for a single pesron to apply them without a center stand...
Also, if the service center is not very far for you or if you get ur bike washed at service center, carry ur lube and ask them to put the bike on Paddock stand. They'll help.

Get some snaps of the stand and measurements. We'll get it made. I spoke to them abt this last time and they were ready to help me with this.Originally posted by synergizer View Postnow thats indegenous thinking

The sound is common. It usually happens as soon as you upright your bike from the side stand or jerk it.Originally posted by thy View PostI am hearing a mild sound from the tank, sounds like a train horn hearing frm long distance. Its coming once in every 10-20 mins, even the bike is idle for many hours.
I asked YSS guys, they said most R15s having this sound coz of FI pump. Any ideas ????
Maybe the bike does suffer from flatulence and needs to break wind once in a while.

i had tried something similar sometime back.. i n my pal used a sand bag n few brick which were available in my parking area thanks to my houseowner, also we put a sand bag to support@ the side stand. it worked fine but it to two of us to do it.. now i prefer just tilting it over the side stand and rolling the wheel with the help of my foot ....
but still taking help @service station is best idea.

This is how i lube my chain,
1. Start the bike
2. Lean the bike on side stand.
3. Put the bike in first gear, accelerate
4. Tell your friend to lube the chain.
