My tyres are hopelessly pathetic right now, i've strated dfawdling about town at 35~55kmph, because the tyres are constantly scaring me with their grip (lack of it), and also the other thing i noticed is the the steering has started feeling light in comparison to earlier times, where at slow speeds the bike was a handful, but now it's as though it's riding on a cushion of air, scaring the living daylights out of me!Originally posted by Insidious View Post@ELD: I tried out what you said. I've set the pressure at 26, and I tried turning while braking. It still seems to be perfect. I think I will experiment a bit more on the pressures before I go in for Nitrogen. Let me know when we can meet up so that you can try it out for yourself.
PS - I would want to head to Padi soon. I wanna try out some stunting.

Should not be problem as i've already changed my whole fork assembly at 8KOriginally posted by silver_falcon_46 View Post1.) Cone near the handle bar bolt. Life is about 10k.
Same replyOriginally posted by silver_falcon_46 View Post2.) Cone is replaced along with the Fork oil at around 15k usually.Makes that weird noise from the handle bar main bolt when you brake as if the bolt is loose, signifying that its worn out.
How do i know when to change the sprocket?Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View Post3.) How's your chain sprocket doing? Mine was replaced at 17-18k.
How long can i delay this? It's already ~17K so i'm sort of worriedOriginally posted by silver_falcon_46 View Post4.) Spark plugs. 10k
NICE!!Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View Post5.) My tapets were replaced twice. I dont know how yours is doing. Tappets usually get damaged due to continuous high revving. Not a problem with the 220's but quite common on the 200's. Some high speed cruising and you maybe prone to this damage. Its ok, its free for 5 years and unlimited warranty.

there is a bolt(big one) at the rear sproket..u can say..just below the saree guard...If that is shifted completly to the right then its time to change your sprokets. How do i know when to change the sprocket?
Spark plugs should be changed ASAP coz the stock ones last not more than 10K..check your plugs...there must be a lot of carbon deposits. How long can i delay this? It's already ~17K so i'm sort of worried
try out with NGK G power...it will last easily for around 20Kits all about CC...

Rs. 130/-!!
What is today? "Surprise-me-day"??

I think you missed a "0" there (Hoping you did'nt),
Does this mean the normal plugs are Rs.65/-?
Then why are the CR9 Series so damn costly? and
BTW How long do they last?
Sorry for the barrage of queriesI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

How much was the CR9E's cost?
As per the NGK distributor here only GPower plug that costed more than Rs 30 was that of Unicorn/Hunk/CBZ-X/Acheiver/FZ-16. All use the same plug and MRP is Rs 200. Others it is Rs 130. Call up the distributor in your area (check at ngkntk.in) and find out.
For most plugs in the market the approx price is like - Champion - 55, Bosch - 65 and NGK 70.
Platinum plugs are very long lasting. Can't really say how much but are full paisa vasool in more ways than longer life.

Here the CR9E's.........last time i checked they came with a Rs.550/- MRP!! But will check up once again just to make sure
EDIT: And in the partfinder for the NGK spark plugs these is no G-Power available for Bajaj 150/180/200Last edited by EL LOCO DIABLO; 04-17-2009, 11:23 PM.I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

That should be CR9E-IX - Iridium plugs. They are expensive at Rs 550 and I really don't know whether they are worth that money. Just my opinion though and I use one in my R15. I use a GPower (Platinum) plug in my Victor.Originally posted by EL LOCO DIABLO View PostHere the CR9E's.........last time i checked they came with a Rs.550/- MRP!! PS: CR9E would be regular Nickel plug. CR9EGP would be GPower plug.

MAte.. you captured my feeling exactly!!! and even worrisome is that my bike has barely crossed 6k!!
i dont know what the f*ck to do to get the handling behaviour back!.... its soo scary.. it feels like im on marbles all the time man!

^^ As far as i observed the tyres are not really capable of handling bad/dirt/rocky roads, and where i'm coming from there are virtually no roads to write home about, right now the contact patch has grown by about 30mm and due to this running on 40psi pressure to keep the bike balancedI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Depends if they changed the cone as well. If its an accident replacement, then they would try to minimize the replacement. So I doubt if your cone was replaced.Originally posted by EL LOCO DIABLO View Post

Dont worry, you'll know it yourself. Heavy chain noise. Feels like it would fall of when its in the last stages.Originally posted by EL LOCO DIABLO View PostHow do i know when to change the sprocket?
Replace it now. The spark plug may run some more, but its better you replace it. The spark may have gotten weak along with some good deposits.Originally posted by EL LOCO DIABLO View PostHow long can i delay this? It's already ~17K so i'm sort of worriedsigpic

Yeah right now the chain makes that horrible grating added with a heavy "Thunk" whenever i shift to first from stanstill, eventhough the chain and the sprocket gets a clean (with diesel) and lube every week (SAE90/Chain Spray)Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View PostDont worry, you'll know it yourself. How much percent drop in acceleration do you feel with the smaller 220 sprocket for city rides? Is it practical for 90% city and 10% highway riding.Originally posted by silver_falcon_46 View PostAfter my first set of sprocket kit wore out, I replaced it with the 220 kit. About 4kmph increase in topend.Topped out at 132 speedo. Black speedo. (2 years and 2 month old bike. One of the first 200's in Bangalore.) Slight improvement in cruising ability but now im searching for a front sprocket that is about a teeth more so I can swap it when I'm on the highway. Increasing one teeth in the front should make a difference but I hope it doesn't drag too much and end up frying my clutch. Not like there's too much life left in my clutch. Do remember that changing to the 220 rear sprockets will cause some friction b/w the chain and the rubber bit on the swingarm.
One thing is weird about this thread. Everyone has their own set of problems and the next post is a new problem by itself.
Any increase in fuel efficiency after this mod?
Do you suggest this mod for me?
Be careful with the front sprocket mod, because if you increase a teeth with the same 37 teeth, you will get a theoretical topend of 143
@ ~9750RPM and 131 @ 9000RPM (redline), most probably it will feel like a 100cc bike in the city
As you know the acceleration is not that amazing, given its a 200cc engine
If there is more friction than before, then that itself will cause drag and reduce mileage
, not good news. Should check how 220 is setup then.
Thanks for sharing this info
You are welcome mate, keep us updated if you do change it.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks CSSK,
