After owning the bike for one and half years, I replaced the air filter on its last servicing. For the record, all the servicing has been done on every 1000 kms just for the peace of mind. So, I did this 400 kms trip with my brother twice on this bike and reached a max of 100kmph on a slope. While returning I noticed a tik-tik sound from engine on idle, but it went away after riding.
Now since last servicing, the tik-tik sound has returned and it seems getting louder. When I asked my mechanic, he told me that it is from camchain. Is it possible that the bike doing only 6600 kms had such problem? All confused. Suggestions highly appreciated.

I remember having this sound in my bike too when I stop it after a ride. I think it's the catalytic converter. It seems to come from near the exhaust area.I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

It's not that kind of kit-kit. This comes from the engine itself. It is as previously stated by Pinaki a tappet. I am hoping to get it done this week.Originally posted by Horror View PostI remember having this sound in my bike too when I stop it after a ride. I think it's the catalytic converter. that sound is most probably of tappets. It seems valve clearance has increased and the service guy has not adjusted the tappets.as per the user manual the valve clearance needs to be checked and adjusted at 6000km.this is to be done again at 12000km. procedure for this is given on user manual page 51.Originally posted by lineinfire View PostAfter owning the bike for one and half years, I replaced the air filter on its last servicing. Tvs will have tough days ahead unless they bring all new bike to take on bajaj's P200NS and Honda's CBR series. Tvs fans will soon forget the Apache RTR and turn towards Bajaj/Honda/Ktm if they bring this kind of cheap sticker job. Actually the Apache RTR engine is based on old suzuki Fiero engine and Tvs seem to have done nothing much to develop their own R&D. Bajaj is in much better position in that Respect as they have owned 50% of KTM.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View Post
By the way I feel there is a strong possibility of Honda bringing a new Twister 250cc soon after their partnership with hero moto corp ends in 2014. It will most likely have CBR250 engine and will be roughly cost around 20k cheaper then CBR250. Honda' second bike fitted with CBR250 engine has been named CRF250L which is an on-off road bike similar to hero impulse and i think third bike could well be Twister 250 commuter.

Am totally loving this bike even after 11000 kms on it. But the only place it lacks is power... :P but a very good bike for the city. I might most probably be upgrading my bike to the new pulsar. Then this bike will be out for grabs to anybody intrested.

Hi
Hi everyone
I bought a twister 6 months back. Just spent 4 days to read all 198 pages. lots of useful info.
I would like to know if it is possible to tune carb without a tach. I dont have one. And btw I bought a black one and also a cramster colt saddlebag for those long tours.
I used to get a mileage of 70 earlier but now get only 65. Any suggestions what to do ? (the driving style and distance are same)
Regards
Ankur

The 5kms mileage drop is not a big deal try to adjust your Clutch & Engine oil.Originally posted by ankurkaul17 View PostHi everyone

Hey it's having the best power in 110cc bikes. Even after 25k kms my bike is till good in power like new.Originally posted by Horror View PostAm totally loving this bike even after 11000 kms on it. Better go for CBR150R instead of Pulsar.

welcome to forum!! Tuning can be done without Tachometer but since you are getting 65kmpl....its seems bike is well tuned already and most people getting 60-65kmpl.i would suggest not to change the factory setting.there will be some drop in mileage over a period of time and then it will become stable and tuning may not help.I am getting 60kmpl in city compared to 65kmpl when new.keep the chain well cleaned and maintain maximum tyre pressure as given in user manual and stick to 10W30 oil for better mileage. How many km bike done so far and whats the cost of cramster?Last edited by sachin1111; 04-24-2012, 02:52 AM.
