I don't excatly remember when the nail got into the tyre, it was a rather small nail. Not much air got out till the nail was inside. Now the problem happened when I decided to take one of my friends home when he sat the tyre it almost flattened(i weigh only 60 kg and he was 80kg's) so the bike could easily take my weight. I later went to fill air into my tyre, that's when I checked my tyre and saw the nail. The stupid guy there just removed the nail and in the beginning not much air came out but later on when I inflated the tyre without the nail the air started whissing out. The guy over there then said that they didn't have a kit to repair a tubless tyre, and I got pissed off with him....Remember never remove the nail unless u get to a tubless tyre repair kit. I later drove the bike around a km's to the next petrol pump. Even with a hole(It was a very tiny one) the tyre did have enough air in it, like 10-15psi... In the next petrol pump he got it repaired for me, cost me a 100bucks in mumbai, might cost less outside, but the repair only took a few seconds and it was good after that...
-Always check your tyres for nails every few days
-Never remove the nail unless you are going to repair it immidietely
-Always maintain tyre pressure, it might effect your effeciency
What about the bike cover? And one more thing how often do we need to change the disk brake's lining? My friends has a pulsar 220 and he changes the disk linning every 3-4months. My disk brake gives me screeching sounds when I brake even at low speeds, and I use only disk brakes in traffic because I tend to keep my right foot down so I cant use the back brake. Is it ok?I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

me too looking for green seat for my green bike.regarding the cover,i always cover my bike bcoz pigeons shit on bike in my apartment and also dirt etc.only thing is just put cover hanging on front two mirrors so that it just forms like a shade on top of fuel tank thus easy to remove.otherwise every time you remove cover it will rub fuel tank loosing its shine.Originally posted by Horror View PostYa I would really like my green bike with the green seat....One more doubt..My bike stays in the open so is it ok if I cover my whole bike with a bike cover when it is parked? It stays under a tree and loads of dirty things fall on it.lol...I had my tyre punctured recently.....Got that repaired for a hundred bucks. Kinda costly. Is it OK if I use carnauba car wash on the bike? or car wax?

regarding disk brakes,i think in the user manual they have given some instructions to check wear yourself.somewhere on page 65 i guess.

I would suggest that you stop using the disk brakes.. They should be used only when absolutely necessary (like braking suddenly from high speeds to avert accidents).. I used have the problem of keeping my right foot down, but now with practice I have been able to get rid of that habit.. IMO the fewer times you use the disk brake, the better!!Originally posted by Horror View PostMy disk brake gives me screeching sounds when I brake even at low speeds, and I use only disk brakes in traffic because I tend to keep my right foot down so I cant use the back brake. Gear Problem in Twister
Yea guys, I am Jayakrishnan and this is my first post to the forum..
I bought a twister 3 months ago and it is now more than 3000 kms.
Its a nice bike but from the beginning itself it is giving me gear shift problem..
When ever I had to stop my bike suddenly like in a traffic signals or something like that I cant shift my gear from neutral to first. It keeps on slipping until I repeat clicking 6 to 7 times and moving the bike back and forth a couple of times. The other gears are fine.
Its actually freaking me out. I went to the showroom (Aadi Honda, Malakpet, Hyderabad) a number of times and those freaks are not even paying attention to this.
Please suggest me a solution, I have adjusted the clutch a number of times. So clutch may not be a problem, but I am not sure..Last edited by jk.l.hcl; 10-09-2010, 10:40 AM.

WHat I do when I get gear slippage is leave the clutch a little and accelrate(like while starting the bike from first gear). The chain will slip into neutral gear or first gear.I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

@ R2CRAWFORD, thanks for the welcome man.... I will post the pics of my bike its a red twister.
I consulted with a local mechanic.. He told me that there is some kind of screw and spring inside the gear box, and it could be creating the problem. He told me to check the spring and tighten the screw properly. I am going again to the showroom, this time aadi honda's different showroom. Let me see if they check it or not...
@Horror, thanks for your trick man....

Thats what I do too...Originally posted by Horror View PostWHat I do when I get gear slippage is leave the clutch a little and accelrate(like while starting the bike from first gear). The chain will slip into neutral gear or first gear.
I just finished my 3rd free service. Odo reading was 4250. No real problems so far with the bike other than the relatively low mileage.

Yup the milage seems to bother me too, I've clocked 1100. I asked the service guy about the milage and he said the milage will set in slowly and steadly...let's see...I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

What mileage are you getting?Originally posted by Horror View PostYup the milage seems to bother me too, I've clocked 1100. I asked the service guy about the milage and he said the milage will set in slowly and steadly...let's see...
I complained about my low mileage during all 3 free services but they don't seem to have done anything about it.

As per the manual 10w30 oil can maintain oil viscosity when atmospheric temperature is between -10 to+35 degree Celsius.where as 20w30 oil is able to maintain oil viscosity from 0- 45 degree Celsius.so in summer when temperature shoots up above 35 degree,20w40 is more suitable whereas 10w30 is likely to give engine overheating problems in summer.but if you live in cold climate such as kashmir then 10w30 is recommended.Originally posted by HellsFury View PostA question to all fellow Twister owners...What engine oil does your service station put in your twister? In my case they put the 10W30 oil and not the 20W40 one.
I never asked my mechanic as temp.at my place at this time is around 25-30 degrees so both 10w30 and 20w40 will do the job.I think they are using 10w30 in my bike.but iam in favor of 20w40 anyday.will ask my mechanic for next service.
