  • hi guys...this is krishna...
i am planning to get a dazzler..
i have a few doubts regarding it!
how are the vibrations on the bike?
what is the mileage expected in the city(speed limit-40 to 70km/hr max)
    and in highways too??
how is the pillion seat comfort?
how r the suspensions and braking?
how is the maintainance of an open chain case? is it tough?
    what is its top speed?
    Biking is in my Blood!!

Cant help but think I should have gone with TVS or Bajaj, at least their parts are cheaper
Aren't these things in warranty? Why you paid for it?

I got the CDI replaced under warranty yesterday

Actually, the first time around I did not opt. for that because, I had not conducted my 3rd free service (they did not accept the coupon at the time) because I was a few days over the "time limit" (so they directly used my 4th service coupon).
Based on that, I sort of assumed that they may not honor my warranty.

P.S I still find it surprising and a little disappointing that a CDI would conk off @ under 10-15k, but @ least they had the decency to replace it without any hassles.

Vibrations are least as far as my experience is concerned. Only the vanilla Unicorn is smoother than Dazzler. I have rode almost all bikes in this category (Hunk, CBZ xtreme, Unicorn, Pulsars, Apache 160) and can tell you based on that. Vibrations are there near 4.5K RPM (every bike vibrates at its maximum around this spot) but lot lesser than other bikes and they disappear as RPM goes on.

In city conditions, expect minimum 50kmpl maximum 60kmpl. My Dazzy (1100km on odo) is giving me 56-58 kmpl in mixed conditions. On highways, expect slightly more average but all depends on riding conditions. Still, I don't think it will give anything less than 50kmpl. Considering the power of bike, those figures are surprising for me. I think its achieved because of lesser weight of bike.

Pillion seat comfort is good. Those who sit behind me never complained about it till now.

The mono suspension is bit stiffer at this moment but as per the experience of many xBhpians, it gets smoother with time especially after 1.5-2K kms. Front suspensions are awesome! No complaints at all!

Braking is great as well. Front disk is very responsive yet does not cause any instability. Rear disk braking is purposefully not very strong to avoid skidding. Still its very responsive and any time better than drum brakes. Overall stability and handling of bike is just great! I mean it.

I have not gone through chain maintenance as running of my bike is not that much till date and chain was well taken care during first free service. More experienced folks will able to comment on it or go through previous posts in this thread.

Top speed should be around 125Km/hr. I didn't check myself as its in run-in period but heard many Dazzler owners reporting around same figure. I have taken my dazzy to maximum 87Km/hr only once and that too just for 1-2mins and it was very stable and unstained at that speed. I felt like I could very easily take it to beyond 100.

Nothing like that mentioned to me at least (by Honda or my mechanic)

As I mentioned, I did get its cone-set replaced from a local mechanic whom I did think of as trustworthy.

I know they remove all connections to the handlebar while doing the replacement.

When he checked my bike on the day it broke down he said there was one wire that came unplugged very quickly. It was the continuation switch wire I think. We initially thought this was the reason why the bike stopped.

However, plugging this back did not fix the issue.

I have observed that both the issues I have had (cone-set as well as C.D.I) have occurred after I started getting it serviced from outside. For the period of time that I took it to the service center for my free services, I did not have a single issue with the bike.

Does anyone think its better to stick to the service center while the warranty is valid?

I'm not sure whether it is fair to judge my mechanic based on those two things (cone-set and C.D.I)

              Any thoughts ?

If you service from outside mechanic,Stay with the bike till the service is completed.

Yes, that seems to be the common opinion. However, in this case the question is not of trust but of whether they ensure that the job is done right and with the right tools etc. Something which I may not know even if I'm there

                  • I want to know from owners of Dazzler who undergone through need of spares, how is the availability of genuine spare parts for the bike? Considering Honda's delays or non availability in providing spare parts, fairings for other bikes, I want to know about this for Dazzler.

In my experience, like most Japanese bikes, you can obtain spares from the authorized service center but not through external dealers.

The same is said about Suzuki and Yamaha.

There is no 100% guarantee that every part in a bike will lost longer. Honda bikes will have problems, but to a lesser extent than others. That is why, there is a two-year warranty.

Cone set wears out or gets damaged depending on the usage. My bike's coneset is also gone (and I don't complain as I have ridden on many potholes for extensive periods) and I am searching for the spare right now (I replaced cone set for my karizma three times in 38k kms).

Regarding CDI, as I said above, there will be failures and you got it free in warranty.

When you service outside, be with the bike. Nobody fiddles with CDI units and internals in servicing. They just check if everything is working right or not. They just do wash, clean the spark plug (if needed), clean airfilter (not needed in our case), change the oil, check if all lights are working, adjust/lube the chain, adjust clutch, check brake pads, replace any required parts, etc. If your bike is running fine, do not allow anybody to fiddle with carb tuning (and nobody will generally touch it).

I am servicing my bike at Honda Service Station because of the warranty. Otherwise, I will take care of general servicing myself, with the help of a known mechanic to me. I generally replace the spark plug and air filter at recommended intervals. In the last service, I even got the oil strainer and centrifugal filter cleaned at service center. After the warranty period is over, I will say good bye to Honda Service station; I can take care of the general servicing myself. Will go to service station only if there is a complication. My Karizma never went to service station after the warranty period, and I never gave my bike for general servicing anywhere. I just took care of engine oil, spark plug, and air filter; only when there was a specific problem, I took it to service station or my known mechanic.

                        • Yesterday, my bike refused to start. When I was coming to a halt, the bike automatically died. After I had my dinner, I tried to start the bike and it refused to buildup the rpms. Checked the horn and lights and they are working very much fine, indicating good health of the battery. Switched off and and switched on the ignition and tried to start and still it refused. Did this a couple of times with no result. Waited for another 15 min and still the same. Then, I put the bike in second gear, and asked my cousin to push the bike. Luckily, it started immediately and no problem till now.

Previously this happened once, but the bike started after 10 minutes. This time I had to push start it. Anybody has this experience??

Have to find out whats the reason.

Alos, the fork cone set is gone. The bike is swaying left and right when steering, and there is a 'tak' tak' noise with hard braking. Unfortunately, no spares anywhere in hyderabad.

Regarding cone set, i have one doubt........dazzler's fork & cone set seems to get damaged very easily or say early compared with other bikes! what do you all have to say on this........

I too had similar starting trouble with my Dazzler. Then the dealer solved the problem after changing the Relay in the bike. So far no problems (2 months after Relay changed. Also with chill climate here, the bike starts in one press). Before changing the Relay, he checked the battery and the battery was just fine. Go to your dealer and get the Relay replaced at Free of cost :-)

                              • help pls

                                hi all,
bought dazzler 1 month back, but accidentally it kissed the ground really hard last week, there are scratches on the top of the headlight in the right side and leg guard also has a thick line of scratch(its rusty already due to rain)...., also there are scratches on the silencer too

when contacted the service centre, they told need to replace the front plastic but they dont have it and dont know when it will come if i order(there where else can i get???)
also since it is raining they wont paint the leg guard but will do it after the season is over, which will take minimum one month as it is raining daily here in chennai...

                                please suggest me?
                                i) do i cover the scratches with sticker as of now, as it is looking really ugly on the front and the leg guard has a brown rusty thick line as of now
(p.s: it should not look like stickered after it is done)
ii) does anybody know how long it will take for my spare to arrive?

1st service got overly only a week back my odo is only 1150 and still a long time left for my second service
