  • Guys,

I am having problems with the stock battery. I want to replace it but I called up some dealers and the only option he quoted (besides the stock Excide) was a Rocket 12V, 4Amp battery with 18 months warranty. Has anyone heard about this company?

Amaron has a 5 Amp battery with 48 months warranty. Can that be used with the Dazzler?

Right now the only options I see are batteries from Excide and Rocket, both having 18 months warranty.

    • Heel and Toe shifter

Yesterday I rode an Unicorn for sometime in the city. I realized only at the end that it had hell-toe gear shifter, and all the while I used only the toe shift out of habit. Its no different for Dazzler at all. I immediately bought heel-and-toe shifter of Unicorn and fixed it to Dazzler. The price of the spare is 177 bucks. I did this to save my shoes while going to office. I use heel shifting only with shoes and the rest of the time it would be toe-shifting. And I am happy with it. Below is the pic.

Never heard of Rocket company. Amaron is a good brand and its Amaron which introduced MF batteries to two-wheelers. Obviously, Amaron 5 amp battery with 48 months warranty is better than the unknown Rocket brand which is just 4 amps and has only 18 months warranty.

EDIT: Just checked on the net and this is what I found:

'Rocket' is a word class brand manufactured by Global Battery Co. Ltd. Korea (Formerly known as Global & Yuasa Battery Co. Ltd.

M/s Global Battery Co. Ltd. was established in the year 1952. It has entered into a capital & technology associating with the Yuasa Corporation of Japan, a world famous battery manufacturer.

Today Global produces over 11.5 million storage batteries for use in automobiles, motorcycles and various industries as well as VRLA batteries. Technologies accumulated over the past 46 years within Global and the most advance technologies from Yuasa have been successfully integrated into Global's products to earn worldwide respect. Over 50% of the local market share now belongs to Global. Over 7 million units being exported to more than 140 countries around the world.

Yuasa battery is a reputed brand, and hence it can be reliable.

          Thanks, Ravi.

Yes, I understand Amaron is better than the other brands on the market. My main query was, can the Amaron 5 amps battery be fitted on the Dazzler that has a battery specification of 12v 4 amps?

Still waiting to hear something on this ? Any inputs ?

After a lot of search, I managed to get a petrol lock for my dazzler. You need to change the fuel pipe to a smaller size. Dazzler's stock fuel pipe size is larger in dia. so it wont fit with the new cock(petrol lock). There wont be any problem in fuel delivery after this smaller dia. fuel pipe.

Thanks a lot bro for this information. I guess we belong to same city (Pune) so can you tell me from where you fit new pipe and petrol lock for your dazzler? Also any single side effect or change in behaviour if any noticed by you after fitting this and effect on warrenty?

I was almost about to give on this petrol lock thing after frustration. I encountered with petrol theft two times since I own Dazzler (less than two months old). Got relief knowing atleast its possible to fit on dazzler! Thanks again.

                • @dazz_xbhp - 'Bombay Scooter House' Nana peth. This is a very famous shop, anyone in nana peth will tell you where is it exactly located.

There is no change in vehicle's performance after fitting this, its exactly like the stock. I don't think this should have any effect on warranty, & if at all.....its a very simple fit.......you can always revert to stock fuel cock & fuel pipe which will remain with you.
Also, do we have any choice? Petrol theft has become very common In Pune city also there are no tailor made petrol lock for this dazzler.

Thanks a lot bro! I will fit it soon. One friend did tell me that I could get it done in Nana peth but he was not very sure and I didnt pay much attention because Nana peth is too far from my home. Now I will surely go there and will fit ASAP. Petrol theft is actually very serious issue in Pune. My society and nearby area is comparatively safe but its a daylight robbery in my college parking. Those are students only and institute management does nothing even after complaini again and again.

                    • Folks,
One quick question. I am planning on buying a Dazzler to replace my Splendour. I intend to go to Leh in 2012 season and attempt to reach M-top(Marsimik La Top). Hence I wanted to know is someone has attempted to reach M-top on their Dazzler???

                      • Starting Trouble?

Guys anyone having problem while starting the bike shouuld first check if there is any loose items under the seat (cloths papers etc.) Because dazzler has air intake under the seat and these loose items tend to get sucked and cause a blockage. It happened to me once and It took me about half an hour to find what went wrong (It was my PUC paper).

Is there a way to change the plastic handle bar-ends to a metal ones?

Thats right. While taking delivery, guy explaining me about bike told me about this and adviced not to keep anything under seat, not even papers as they might came out of place. Since I carry a bag almost all the time, I didn't keep anything under seat. My bike is absolutely fine while starting. Single push to self start button is enough even in cold start most of the time.

                          • Hii folks...I have bought a Dazzler 6 months back and done 3.5k+ kms . Last free servicing to be done in December. I am planning to do some performance mods on my bike. Planned for:
                            1. Air filter( K&N R-1060)
                            2. NGK Iridium spark plug.
                            3. Full DC setup.
                            4. HID headlight.
                            5. Switch to semi synthetic engine oil.

                            Query:
                            1. Will the air filter enhance the lower end? What will be consequences on the higher end?
                            2. Are there any other mods which can improve engine and torque?
                            3. I don't know why I am getting mileage 40+ km pl. Expected to be 50+. Can you please highlight on this? Any suggestions?
                            4. Is it the right time to switch to semi-synth?

                            Thanks in advance....

K&N is waste of money, its not going to make any performance improvements in your bike, just a roaring sound only and it will kill your engine earlier.

What is your riding pattern? Please tell us.

NO,You have to cover atleast 6000kms to change to SS or FS oils.

Also any of these mods will void your warranty,so better run stock till the warranty is over.

                              • Thanks for the response...
Usually I ride in city(stop n go traffic). Speed range is 0-65(Rpm 0-6k) . I ride a bit rough. Guess I need to change my ride habits..to get good figures...

Please tell me about warranty....will it affect even if a install a DC setup/spark plug? I need to change lights asap as night riding in highways feels too unsafe!
