Any recomended handlebar to make the ride comfortable?
      Pulsar 180/200?
      CBZ extreme/Hunk
      or something like
      Gladiator/SZ-X or old unicorn.

Please suggest the best handlebar for comfort considering my height and dazzler's saddle height?
Pulsar handlebars as well as SZ handlebars are flatter compared to the stock Dazzler handlebars. I don't know about gladiator handlebars, so I can't comment about that.
Aren't the handlebars of Dazzler and Unicorn same? Try to find thunderbird handlebars for your bike. You might not like the looks, but they offer a comfortable posture for your height.

since you already used 160fi for 3years and now going for dazzler or espically gs150 you will feel bit low on power AFAIK..but between the two you have mentioned dazzler is the better one considering low end torque, however gs 150 has better styling, but i would choose cb-unicorn even though its looks bit aging.

Thanks for replying. I am not sure about that.
Thunderbird handlbar looks huge..will it be comfortable as we have to compare the saddle height of dazzler also.
Another option i have is Yamaha gladiator's handle.Need to check which will be comfortable.

                • Need help on mileage in Dazzler

                  Hi guys,

I live in Bangalore and my dazzler (bought in June 2011) has completed all 4 free services. Since my office is near by, total kms ran so far (in 9 months) is 2500 kms only.

My major problem with this bike is mileage. It gives 35 kmpl only. I tried all steps at Honda service. However I drive (rash or smooth driving), it gives only 35 kmpl. From the day 1, am using Shell petrol only. 1 or 2 times I used HP petrol but still the same problem.

(I met few Unicorn owners at service center and they say they get 50kmpl solidly and one guy said he purposely ignored Dazzler for its mileage problems and went for new Unicorn (instead of dazzler) .. I checked with the same showroom if I can exchange this bike for Unicorn... they said they can buy my dazzler for Rs. 50,000/- only :-(..... very bad decision I feel now as the on-road price of my dazzler at Bangalore in June 2011 was 79,000/- .....)

I checked with Dream Honda, whitefield and they did mileage test and they said my bike is going 5 kms for 100 ml of petrol (so it is 50 kmpl). No WAY !!!

My idling speed is kept at 1.5 rpm

Can you guys help me out to get decent mileage (say 40 or 45 kmpl).

Note: The wheels rotate tightly in neutral. When asked at service, they say it is because of disc brake at back side. I had shogun (sold recently), the tires rotate freely in that bike but Dazzler it is not.

                  Please advice.

Hey i bought a 22000kms used honda Dazzler and even that is giving 50kmpl.
So surely your bike needs some thorough checking. It will definitely give good mileage.

Regarding the 100ml test,Ideally it should give more than 6kms,so that i can give atleast 50 in the actual riding conditions.

I remember doing a 100ml test in my suzuki fiero in 2002,it went for 7.7kms where as the actual on road mileage was around 55km/l.
So that itself shows mileage to be on the lesser side.

Idle rpm should be around 1300.some people here mentioned it can be 1100-1200. try to reduce that.

For the wheel rotation problem,Take it to a outside mechanic and get his opinion. If possible you can get second opinion or even 3rd opinion also.

Please enumerate your riding style and conditions so that we can know about the actual scenario. Or better still, try to get a video.

The idle RPM when cold could be around 1000-1200 RPM. Check that out.

Next time you opt for a can test, ask the mechanic to let you ride the bike.

As far as I know, most of the yamaha bikes have straight handlebars which will only make you bend forward. Since the footpeg placement in the dazzler is a little forward, you need higher handle bars. Just check the Avenger handlebar once. Its not as big as the Thunderbird bars. Some people have used it for Unicorn and GS150R too.

Do you fill your fuel from the same station? If so then try some other. My friend has a stunner and once he had filled his tank from one particular fuel pump to the full and guess what, he filled in "14 liters" in his bike which happens to have a 12 liter(As I'm told) fuel tank. And the most funny thing was when he made it an issue he was offered the money back!
This might also be the reason for mileage drop for many of us. Keep an eye out for this kind of trickery.

The wheel should rotate without much resistance. The rear should free rotate much like front wheel but with more resistance due to chain and gears.

I had similar issue when i purchased PUlsar in 2006 and Unicorn in 2010.

I did a lot of R&D by riding many other bikes and have come to below inference:
                            1. All 150 CC bikes where usually the Tanks are huge and short handlebars will have this wrist pain and back pain problem.
                            2. If the rider has couched(forward leaning) sitting posture with his hands stretched to hold the handlebars, then his body weight will be transferred to his palms and hence he will experience back pain and palm/wrist pain.

To reduce this, not just increasing the height of handlebar will help: But,

                            1. Difference between saddle height and handlebar height should be lesser. The lesser the difference, the more "upright" is the riding position.
This means having handlebar having more height.
                            2. The distance between the handlebar and shoulder should be minimised so that arms need not be stretched to hold the handlebar. All 150cc Bikes will have huge tanks - These tank length(Distance between front fork and seat) is longer compared to 100CC bikes. Hence, the distance between rider shoulders and handle bar will be farther compared to 100CC bikes. Hence, even if the handlebars height is more, people have to stretch their arms to hold the handlebars and hence, need to lean forward. To avoid this, the handle bar needs to be bent towards rider.
                            3. The third point is related to bike design flaw which does not exist in Honda bikes but exists predominantly in Bajaj and TVS bikes(Bajaj and TVS Bike owners - please excuse - I dont work for Honda company )
The design flaw that i have found is,
when the rider sits on the saddle,
                            A. the angle between his body(Chest+Stomach) and Thighs should be >70 degrees,
                            B. Angle between Thighs and legs should be >80 degrees. and <110 degrees

if these reduces, then, the person starts feels like he is sitting on the ground rather than a chair.

In Bajaj and TVS bikes, because of relative positioning of the gear and rear breaks these geometry has gone for a toss ! ! Because they advertise this posture as "Sportier"
(This term "sportier" is a misnomer - why should sitting in a bent posture should be termed sportier ? just my personal opiniion)

Hence, we experience all sorts of pain on hands/wrists and back.

The solution to this is (Purely personal)
I used Bajaj Discover handle (Longest handle i have seen except Enfield's stylish expanded handle)on Bajaj Pulsar and pulled it towards my side.
This modification had an impact of changing the front disk break cable.

After this modification, i could ride pulsar comfortably. However, i sold it off because of other heavy maintenance problems after 1.5 years of this modification.

Even in Unicorn, although people say it is very comfortable, i used to get back pain because of the same two reasons stated above. I changed the handle to Bajaj Discover handle bar and i had to change clutch cable because it fell short in length. Now i am highly comfortable in riding Unicorn as well.

Another advantage that you get by changing the unicorn handlebar to Discover is:
The slight vibration that you get during 4000 RPM Engine speed in unicorn is vanished to a large extent ! ! ! (This is a common problem in all Unicorn bikes caused because of Engine resonance with handlebar vibrations. This is very high in PUlsar, TVS Bikes and a slight vibration is seen in Unicorn as well )
Reason being, i have fixed two discover handlebar weights to the handlebar which is not there in unicorn. Honda people have just inserted two plastic cups inside handlebar and there was no provision for handlebar weights.
Now, after this, i am fully enjoying the smoothness /upright position of riding and comfortable drive.

Others can try out this and post their experiences

Thank you. Yesterday tried many places in chennai to get Dazzler handlebar but in vain. So out of desperation bought a Unicorn handlebar.
It feels very much upright when compared to dazzler's handlebar.
unicorn handlebar is not the same as dazzler's handlebar as many ppl think. Its slightly wider and taller.
Did not drive much,so as of now not able to tell how good unicorn handlebar is for my back.
I got this unicorn handlebar in Honda showroom near adayar. That gentleman gave me a sweet news , dazzler production is stopped so spare parts availability will be less.New bike CB150 is going to get launched.
                              Price of dazzler handlebar(if available)-500rs
                              Price of unicorn handlebar- 325rs.

it would be so much better na
                                can someone pls advise????
