I went and tried my luck today at the service centre they said the cells are weak and is not able to recharge, was adviced to change battery and they were out of stock so took to known battery guy he said the battery is fine and charging itself while on the run...
on idle the battery read 12.2 volts and while acceleration the readings were aroun 13.xxVolts,I dint change battery will visit a local mechanic in mulund near santoshi mata mandir...
Also the rpm incicator feels stuck or dances at the end...

The SVC at bhandup panalal industrial estate is become crap..

A healthy fully charged battery should read about 12.38 volts on its own without the engine even started and somewhere around 13.8-14.02 roughly on acceleration, give or take some..

Thats it then. Your bike is charging the battery properly but the battery is not being able to hold the charge. That happens when a couple of cells in the battery are weak. Only remedy: replace battery with a new one. I'd suggest Tata Green/Speed/Amco/Exide in that order of preference subject to availability

                Hi all.
I know this is an Indian forum for Honda Unicorn Dazzler.
I have a very similar bike called the Honda RR 150 or Honda CBF 150 SF.
I got my machine in June 2011 and I have been reading all your posts since then.
It seems to me that this model is not unlike your Unicorn Dazzler when it comes to difficulties.

                  ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Replaced my battery as adviced by Pixantz...bike starts perfectly
but today a new problem has emerged
while returning frm college noticed that on applying the brakes front and rear simultaneously as well as individually the dials go blank as if the bike ignition key is in the off position...
The RPM dial makes a clean sweep to the top the turn signals start twinkling while they are on, horn seems to have a soar throat whenevr it wishes....
                  Is there wire shorting????
                  anybody faced this problem ???

                    Hi Neil,
                    Pleased to make your acquaintance.
I and my bike live in the Philippines.
Re. your electronics malfunction, let me ask-was it raining at any time during your day at Uni?
This bike doesn't have a rubber grommet to cap over the ignition keyhole and my feeling is that the rain occasionally gets into that keyhole.
I had a similar thing happen not long ago.
Sure it was raining and shouldn't be any issue whatsoever,BUT I was in heavy traffic,in stop/start conditions and I think a big raindrop from a tree above got inside. I turned off the engine for fuel saving, then turned it on again and there was no lights,no tacho swing, nothing.

                              hi,
I own a dazzler, jan 2011 model, and hav 54k on the odo. Contrary to what most long term reviews hav to say. i hav had a pretty smooth time with my bike.
Firstly i used to get the oil changes every 3500kms, now its close to every 5000 kms, and i use simple mineral oil from honda. The engine sounds a bit more clattery then how it sounded at 5000 kms, but its still very silent compared to the like and pulsar and others. No engine or other mods till now.
The only major expenses were a change of chain and sprocket at 30k, a spark plug change at 30k, and the rear tire at 40k. The replacements are holding on good so far. No niggles with the battrey till now.
Also, wud mention that i dont bother much about chain lubrication and all.. just get it lubricated when getting the oils changed,

The only niggles ive faced on it is that sometimes my horn stops working , but thats due to a loose wire i guess. apart from that ive noticed that gear changes are a bit more rough now, its not bad but its just not as smooth as when it was new. Apart from that the washer holding the front bumper has got loose ,, and honda has been pathetic with the spares. They have simply zero inventory of dazzlers parts. My bike is still just on its second air filter, which was replaced at 25k, cos honda simply has no spares with them.

So, other then some minor niggles with horn and front bumper , the bike is holding on pretty well till now.

Just wanted to say this cos so many people were raising concerns over long term reliability of this bike.
