    Hi Umangloriya,

As you had rebuilt your engine, mechanic would have set your carb to slightly richer side, give some time until next service and keep the Revs low to let the valves and piston rings to seat properly.

get the Carb adjusted by Mechanic in next service, you should see improvement in mileage, also keep track on oil level.

Thanks for your quick response bro .
Do you mean i should keep low RPM by keeping Revs low? I don't know about Rev.

So, this is like to get improvement in mileage I have to first change oil at 600-700kms and do first service ... That means rebuilding engine will not give instant difference in mileage ??

Surely I will regularly check for oil level because that is the reason behind engine rebuild ..

Thank you for your valuable input. I will use only genuine parts as I do not want any troubles after rebuilding the engine.

If I am doing the repairs from local Mechanics den what is the way I can get original Bajaj parts?

Mechanics usually use duplicate ones they manage to find.

Could u pls suggest some spareparts shop or online shops from where we can get original Bajaj parts?

          Hi Vinu,

The odometer of the bike is 60000 kms. There is no such colour of smoke. It all appears very normal. Even the engine noise is very normal.

An year back, I used to change the engine oil only once in 2000kms, but now I have to replace the engine oil every 300-400 kms. If I ride the bike for 700 kms then only 100ml of oil would be there when the engine oil is drained.

            Hi Vipin,

If there is No Smoke then you can give a try on the orifice valve in the rubber hose.

if the valve fix doesn't fix your problem and in current condition if you feel that compared to other pulsars your bike has Low pick-up then get the engine rebuilt.

            Hi,

Revs mean RPM only...rebuilding is almost equivalent to getting a new engine so give it some time until all parts bed in.

Mileage will improve after first service.

            Hi,

if you know the local BAJAJ distributor go and get the parts there only, if you don't know where to get the parts, don't take the Hassle.

leave it to authorized service centre, if anything not done upto the mark you can go and grill them, same is not the case with Local mechanics.

              • Bajaj Pulsar 2003 model heating issues

                Hello Every one,

This is my first post on the site and I have a Bajaj Pulsar 2003 150cc bike which I brought a year back and I have fixed most of the problems myself and with help of some local mechanics,

                First things first,

I have changed the below parts on my bike,

Changed the spoke wheels to Mag wheels (Stock Pulsar mag wheels - model unknown)
The Front suspension in order to fit the mag wheels.
The shain and sprocket as the old one did not fit with the new mag wheels
                Handle.
                Petrol Tank
Changed half silencer as the old one was burst
Carburetor as the engine was turning off while at slow speed or at rest.
Changed all the cables and the plug as well as the previous owner changed the piston.
I keep changing OIL at equal intervals every 2000 KMS and use all oem parts if needed.

                The Main Problem

The engine gets heating up so much that I can feel it when I wear sandles are slippers on my feet for a short distance of 30 KMs

I did not have this issue earlier but i am facing it now can any one suggest what is the exact problem.
I have taken it to multiple mechanics showrooms and now body can fix my issue.

Thanks a tonClick image for larger version

Is this the dtsi or the single spark model?
Ask for adjusting the AFR ( Air fuel ratio) locally it is called the vacuum screw. That is, the main culprit when the engine and carb is overhauled.

                      Hello Friends,

I own a Pulsar UG2 2006 model. the fuel tank has shown signs of leakage from yesterday. I asked the local dealership about new fuel tank. But he says UG2 fuel tank is no more available. I need to buy UG4 fuel tank.

My question is will the UG 4 tank fit into UG 2 model?

Do I have any other alternative?

there could be many reasons for engine overheating. proceed step by step
                        1. check the oil level.

                        whats the mileage you get?

He did mention that he checks the oil level at regular intervals.

My pulsar was having similar issue. I am using pulsar 150 UG 4.5 version and have done 60 k kms. There was also some sort of continous mis-sparking sound from the silencer while bike is in motion after releasing the throttle and clutch not engaged.

I got it checked at many mechanics but no one was able to resolve the issue, finally an expert mechanic at bajaj service centre tuned the carb and the noise of mis-sparking was gone, he also recommended removing the mud cover from below the engine to allow proper cooling by air flow, the spark plugs were also changed to champion by service centre itself along with the oil change. The heating problem too went away after this.

My pulsar still reaches 130 kmph without any modification and every part in original, takes some time but it reaches that speed with a single rider.

I would recommend you to escalate the issue to service centre. I know they are careless but have faced more pulsars than anyone else.

I am not sure whether it is the same issue with your bike but hope it helps.

                            Have a great ride.
