hmm in CBR u have single cylinder.. the CBR150R but VFR means Vee-Four Racing

So i don't think you can call it a VFR.. may be you can call it HONDA CB250... or CBR250 which is upgrade from CBR150 single....

    the OLD CB250RS made 32bhp

    • I just spoke to manager of one of the honda showroom in mumbai. His knowledge about bikes availability is same as on the day i booked in JAN.

Although he was able to give me details about finance

Down payment would be 63.xxx ie ~64000

      EMI (24 month) ~ 6000/-

      EMI (36 month) ~ 4900/-

This is for people who booked in mumbai ofcourse.

        • Although I haven't booked the bike yet and planning to do so once I see it in flesh (yes Shiva is not alone, I am also in dilemma of choosing between R15 and CBR) but was still thinking that the 1st thing which I need to get for the bike will be the Bike Cover as I stay in a apartment and need to keep it covered all the time to avoid careless people who do not care about others property and will try to mess around with the bike.

I remmember reading in NINJA thread that some people used Bullet's cover and it was a nice fit, I feel that the same can be used for CBR as well becuase there might not be too much of difference in the bike's size. What say guys?? anyone has some other ideas?

The perfect analogy to your question would be asking what your grandsons name should be when you dont even a girlfriend yet... No offence meant, but seriously, i cannot see why you would ask a question like that, when you haven't even decided the bike? Is the availability of the right size bike cover going to impact your decision of choosing a bike?? That's what i gathered from your post atleast...

My sole reason for asking this query was it will be helpful for other buyers/xbhpians who might have similar query, I did not knew that in order to ask a question you need to have a pre-requisite of booking the bike first.

And what I gathered from your post is that no one should be asking anything about the bike until he buys/books one.

I don't think there is anything wrong in my query if it somehow helps others, maybe it a very minor thing but still would be helpful for few of us.

I presume the CBR150R, like R15, is a real track tool. The CBR250R is not really a bigger CBR150R but it is some "power commuter" "road bike". CBR150R belongs to the family of its elders such as CBR600RR and CBR1000RR. But the CBR250R belongs nowhere - neither to the racing family of the CBR's nor is a little VFR, and so have I called it "better Karizma".

                      and,
The calculations are wrong. Doesnt matter if its abs or non-abs (which you dint mention) they are still wrong. No offence intended.. But for non-abs.. The downpayment is 53xxx and the installments taking that dp are 4226x36 or 5824x24.
And for abs the dp is 64k with 6850x24 or 4941x36. All about mumbai.. I know your prices are approximate but all three dont match.. I have received the quotation from 4 dealers and have thoroughly calculated all the finance options..
i and vineet had posted the pics of the silver one a few pages back.. Have a look.. Or you can visit the kandivali showroom to see it in flesh! Where in mumbai are you from?

Lets drop all this confusion over CBR and VFR and instead call this soemthing after our Stunner, Twister, Dazzler. Hmmm...I can think of "Poser", "EyeCatcher", "HeadTurner" etc How is that?

Yes. Is not this CBR150R a counterpart of R15?

One big question in my mind,, How can you arrive at these thoughts when you have not seen the bike in flesh nor ridden this?
I am dumbstruck at your thoughts and just imagining about you like, Looking at the photos/videos of the bike you are so confused, what would have happened to you if you had seen the bike in concept level.

Just let this bike go off your head for few days, relax a bit and once you see the bike and ride it, you can name what ever u want. You can even call it Barbie

My deductions of CBR not belonging anywhere was purely based on the factual data like the specs of the bikes and features. We need to see/ride it only to get an experience of it.
But yes, you are right. It has been too much into my mind. Let me concentrate on my work. But...I cannot Hari Om..........

                              Honda estimates 77MPG for CBR250 - Honda CBR250 Forum : Honda CBR 250 Forums

Further down in the same page, a user gives the following feedback...

"I'm just back from 2 days of 150kph highway cruising.

Didn't pay any attention to the fuel economy, but it sure wasn't 33kmp/l.

Usually though if pottering about without excessive speed you'll get 30-33kmp/l.

BTW, have 8500km on the CBR and it's an absolute little monster of a thing. I went for a nice 2 day ride and now, from a nice hard break in it has gone on to destroy everything on the highway, not one vehicle managed to pass it over 800km on what was pretty much empty 3 laned highway. The bike laps it up at 150kph (93mph) at 9000rpm and feels completely safe and sturdy in doing so. That's with a normal riding position and not ducking down onto the tank. The bike is still stock, but my word it's a machine and a half.

Don't know about US highways, but if the traffic is averaging 130kph (80mph) you'll be blasting past 'em, just get the engine broken in nice and hard.
