  • All new Pulsars Vs. Pulsars

so friends.... whats all about the launch?
it was when i decided to buy a new pulsar 180 that i saw this thread...
now its a great confusion that i am facing...
plz help me with this friends...
suppose the re-engineered versions of pulsars, say 180, will get launched by Diwali, my concerns are:
    1. Will the price increase more than 15k for 180 with Mono-shock, Fi and Liquid Cooling (if these are present)?
    2. Will the resale value of old pulsars go down by a great margin?
    3. After i heard that upgrades of pulsars use ktm parts in engine, i'm more concerned. If those old models are discontinued, then it may cause a trouble in getting spare parts of those models, will it?
    4. And finally, will bajaj be able to retain its mileage that makes its bikes famous?
sorry if these questions are silly and meaningless. . . thank you all, with expectation of a reply, soon...

From the rumours there are 150 and 200 twins. It is just the rumours.

      2. Will the resale value of old pulsars go down by a great margin?

If the new range is going to be sold in PBKs they will be priced at a premium and the older ones will not be affected. But if the price difference is less, then surely the older ones will be affected.

      3. After i heard that upgrades of pulsars use ktm parts in engine, i'm more concerned. If those old models are discontinued, then it may cause a trouble in getting spare parts of those models, will it?

One thing Bajaj has made sure is the very less waiting period and availability of spares. But if the new range is for the PBKs only then in other parts, the spares and service will be an issue.

      4. And finally, will bajaj be able to retain its mileage that makes its bikes famous?

While it is normal for anyone to expect so, I seriously hope they do not dip below 40. When on tours, frequent refuelling is troubling.

sorry if these questions are silly and meaningless. . . thank you all, with expectation of a reply, soon...

What I have posted above is just my opinion. It is from what I have heard and read in many places. I would strongly suggest you to wait for the launch. Because buying a bike is more than a financial decision. So wait for the launch. Its less than a month away. So just wait for a few more days.

From what I heard, twins means two variants of the bike. Remember when it was launched first, it was launched in 150 and 180cc variants? Something like that.

Rahul Bajaj has officially said that the new models will be out in September. That is this month. Delivery might begin 3 - 4 weeks from the launch. That is not a lot of time to wait for a bike IMO.

great... if its to be launched by this month, there is nothing to wait. . . and if delivered within 2 months from launching its far better than honda and all IMO... thanks buddy for this info . . . waiting for the next generation performance beast. . .

                        • New pulsars will be available in the last week of September. They will have many parts shared from KTM. There will be two versions of each. One with FI and water cooling and the other without either of those.
FI and four valve 180cc engine should be able produce ~19 bhp. (My assumption)
Having based on P135 light chassis and better handling this should be able to knock down the competition from its segment.
There's apparently no delivery period for any current bajaj model. So we can expect same about future models also.

                              • Well, it's really good to see that Bajaj is finally making a mark to improve the build quality of the Pulsars. I hope they will bring some new looks as well...
