well.. two sides of the coin

    My two cents!!

Common perception of people those who don't like Bajaj as a brand & even some of those who like Bajaj is that Bajaj stands for VFM, they give loaded products @ relatively low price tag.. though in reality it may not be 100% correct. Other thing is all the baggage that comes with Bajaj tag.. this is really from people who don't like Bajaj and quickly try to deride Bajaj by saying unreliable, cheap & not durable.

Rajiv Bajaj wants to move away or may be he likes to protect Pulsar & Discover by distancing them from Bajaj and then slowly make them as individual brands. That way he will get significant pricing power for those brands as well.. (I reserve the right to be wrong !!)

guys, i'm in a great dilemma. after so many researches and some td's, i finally decided to go for the pulsar150ug4.5. And here i go, the news about the all new series, put me in total confusion. So here are my doubts.
      1) Is it just a speculation?
      2) If it's not, Will the smaller pulsars(p135,150,180) also be upgraded along with the p220 and the launch of a bigger one?
      3) Will the upgraded ones takes even more time to launch?
      4) Finally, is it worth waiting or should i go for the current p150 itself? As someone said, I don't want a brand new old bike.

Depends on how long you can wait.. as you can see this is all speculation.. of course an upgrade for Pulsar is due, being 10th anniversary adds more credibility to the news. But, nobody knows the nature of upgrade for sure.. Since P135LS came out.. general expectation is that bigger pulsars will get 4-valve head.. and people are expecting monoshock as well.. and some go even further and expect styling changes on the lines of P135.. if you can wait till Diwali.. may be it would become clear or may not!! that's the point.. if you can wait.. you can see if there is going to be an upgrade

            1. According to Bike India (March issue) its not a speculation. A new 200cc is expected around December.
            2. Don't know but according to same source. A 250cc in in line for 2012.
            3. See 1.
            4. Is it worth the wait. Well I don't know whats your requirement. But seems new Pulsar will feature design cues from 135 LS, mono shocks, liquid cooled and so on.

Get the Bike India march issue and decide. But did you know, by december there will be lots of more attractive options . Oh I love free market.

It seems that patience is the best solution here.. But i just can't wait as i was waiting for those 3 long years to make me 18. I was planning to buy the bike in may-june this year. I think i should change the plan.

my requirment is a good 150cc performer, i am sticking onto pulsar since it is a kinda addictive to me. The above mentioned features are really making me restless. I'm worried that after i buy the current p150 and if this serious upgrade take place after a few months, it will be my worst time ever, especially since i was desperately waiting for 3 years. what's your take on this? should i wait?

Its really difficult to have patience especially when you are 18. If possible then I would advise you to wait.

You could get a second/third hand bike at throwaway prices to manage the waiting period.

I will have to wait till may-june to get the current p150. Till then i will wait for more news updates regarding the launch. However, I'm satisfied with the performance of the p150ug4.5.

                      • nowadays there seem to be no difference between bikeindia & vicky-in --this is coming--that is coming--everything is coming/launching/unveiling

A really stupid pic of pulsar is posted in this month's issue

I doubt that the claims this site is making isnt true. There isnt even one single pic of the full bike in showroom. I rather feel that these pics are of the P220

I highly doubt the authenticity on this news & here's the reason why...
                              - All the pics are for Pulsar 300 & not for 250
                              - Pic #2 & #4 portrays a double rear suspension while the pic #7 shows its a monoshock
                              - The rear fenner of the last pic reminds me of N250R, so there're high chances that the last pic might've been photoshopped.
