KTM 390 Duke details confirmed - to be unveiled next month! Page - 1| ZigWheels.com
The interesting details about Duke 390 are worth the discussion. Otherwise, the other big models which Zigwheels mentions are the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 500, and Yamaha YZF R250. Yamaha was known to be working on a 250cc, but now ZW projects it as a larger engine, possibly a 400, so I'm not sure what to say.
A V-Twin layout gives enough space from all 4 sides to each cylinder, so multiple spark plugs are a clear possibility. But 6 spark plugs would be too much. Damn, even the R1 has only 4 plugs.
And its too early to say whether its a single or twin. Even Zigwheels just "hinted", and did not confirm the same.---

And while we are in the mood to break out some inside info on upcoming motorcycles, we might as well hand you some more dope on the next big thing in Indian two-wheeler market – the 300-400cc class. Joining the bigger KTM 390 Duke will also be some interesting new models in the same segment from other manufacturers, namely Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki.[/QUOTE]
@Samarth 619- Thanks for the edit. I got too excited after reading the first pag to realize that there was another page. I just wanted to share it asap.
I think that would be the perfect upgrade for 220 and 200NS owners. Also the fazer and Fz crowd can rejoice. Lets wait and watch. Thanks again. Keeping my fingers crossed for a twin and not a single cylinder.Last edited by JayD; 10-25-2012, 12:42 AM.Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

Breathe easy. Bajaj is just gonna add another "triple spark" technology to whatever KTM breeds and re-sale in an inferior manner to the Indian market. It was, has, and will be Bajaj's mantra.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

@B7ACKTHORN - Bajaj has graduated from a conventional setup and incorporated triple spark, liquid cooling, monoshock, projector lamps. There has been a lot of progress so lets not take the credit away. Yes the current NS is as you said a slightly detuned setup with triple spark. But i dont see why one should complain against bajaj for bringing in such a machine for a very affordable price. I understand where you are coming from but for the greater good and with all due respect i hope you are wrong and Bajaj brings in that long overdue twin.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostBreathe easy. Its been just 6 months that i am riding duke200 and now ktm390 news.
It was pretty tough for me to convince parents to let me buy duke200. And now it will be impossible for me convince them for 390 in just 1 year.:-(
Anyways i am really glad to know that ktm-bajaj will be bringing a 375cc bike at good price point in India.
but 45PS with 150kgs..

I'm not too sure about a complete substitution of 2 strokes. 2 strokes were about both low end torque right from the idle and top end power up there.Originally posted by amardeep2006 View Post45 PS with 150 KG .
The fun of two strokes will be back on 4Stroke. They should come up with ABS version also for handling such power ratio.
4 strokes are a choice- get low down torque like Karizma, or get high end power like R15/Duke 200 or a balance like P220 DTSi. Or you can increase cubic capacity, if you want both torque spread & power in one machine.
Still, this machine should be one hell of a ride! I believe it would be easy to push it to the limit, unlike the Sbks' which have to be ridden sanely, on public roads atleast.Last edited by Samarth 619; 10-25-2012, 11:58 AM.---
