Nope! I posted a wiki link above for the same. Various companies have their own implementations.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post

If 1.5 lacs is the final on-road price here in Mysore, I don't mind postponing getting a new bike for another year or so. . .Originally posted by raging_bull View Post1.5 lakh is beyond my budget

Btw, combined brakes without wheel speed sensors?! Is it safe? I think a combined braking system without abs on a quarter litre bike is a stupid and dangerous idea!

RNT is awesome, not by design but functionality. It can be used as a generator as well. It is going to great rural work horse. With that sort of torque, one can fit after market two wheeled karts as well. May be hero can make 300 cc motor in same line for a small 3 wheeled vehicle.

so instead of developing 1 quarter liter class engines and producing two bikes they have produced 2 new engines(since they have stopped using honda engines)Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Post

Now looking at HX I don't think the improvements on karismas would be just 2 bhps. New karismas don't have Honda engine any more right?
quite a lot of work hero been doing..lets pray the new karizma is a concept bike and the production one will be more sane, ofcourse with better engines

Same here. The mechanics course in the first was about the very few courses which had me actually study out of interest and not compulsion.Originally posted by maadyy View PostNope but I loved mechanics. Well that is actually a part of mathematics and it is mostly about the coordinates.

I sometimes curse myself for having studied electronics, especially when I visit the svc and have a talk with the KTM engineer sometimes
Prince : Just have a small read about trusses(The trellis frame and the Howrah/Hoogly Bridge are the most easily visualised examples). That'll tell you what a stressed member is(it's a load bearing member).
If say the engine develops some structure fault then the entire chassis is compromised. But by how much depends on the location and design.
So every member(in our casthe engine is a member) is connected and play there part in bearing the load(or forces which come into play when the bike is moving, actually event when the bike is stationary). The exact distribution of forces is of course decided by a CAD software(or may be something else)
Aside :
The same reason, even a minor dent in the chassis means a totaled bike everywhere but India, since Insurance folks can't guarantee the integrity of the chassis as they don't have the means. If something goes wrong later then they stand to be sued.
But here in India, the stupid Insurance guys would always offer to repair your chassis, rims, forks whatever.
Besides they even deduct 10% as salvage on replaced parts. This 'salvage' means the bent, dented chassis rims would fetch at least 10 % of their original price somewhere. But they won't tell you where. Because probably they themselves don't know where and hence they just pass the burden of salvaging the spent parts to us.
Perhaps they are just waiting to be sued by a disgruntled customer. I don't have the time and patience to be that disgruntled customer. Yet!!!The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Geodesic is a term which came from applied Mathematics. In simple words a geodesic is the shortest distance between two points. In the plane, the geodesics are straight lines. On the sphere, the geodesics are circles (like the equator). The geodesics in a space depends on the Riemannian Metric , which affects the notions of distance and acceleration. So it is basically a concept used here to built the frame. Different frame uses different concepts like the famous TRELLIS FRAME uses Lattice Girder principles. It suggests a combination of structural sections connected with diagonal lacing.Originally posted by shivakrish View PostAll rit... but the HX250r has "geodesic TUBULAR frame " i suppose !!

well, I wish they give that as an option too.. I mean non combined brake variant too.. the Combined braking and ABS, both as an option too could save a little more money for few consumers..Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostCut the second hydraulic cable that goes to front brakes.

It was posted here and also in some other websites too, it's said that there will be an option for ABS, not standard though. . .Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Postwell, I wish they give that as an option too.. You didn't get my point. I know that the ABS is an option, but if the Combined braking too was an option, it can save some money tooOriginally posted by Rakesh Rok View PostIt was posted here and also in some other websites too, it's said that there will be an option for ABS, not standard though. . .

I somehow feel that it will not be conservatively priced since CBR abs is already costlier than duke 390 and hero has always priced its product costlier than Hondas when they were together ...

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
I feel that combined braking system without ABS is not a good idea since the system works in the same manner irrespective of the road conditions (if my understanding of CBS is correct).
That can be dangerous because there's nothing the rider can do during an emergency situation. Remember, this bike ain't a lazy scooter.Last edited by raging_bull; 01-31-2014, 08:56 PM.The best things in life are dangerous: Motorcycles and Women
