Ya bro, I spoke with him, but it dint workout. Finally I was a bit harsh on him. Now the things are speeding up a bit. but not enough. Planning to escalate it to the next level.Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Post@moto Cmon speak with your dealer this is sbk and they should not do like this...
Apart from that, I think that these guys are a bit lethargic since all my settlements and payment are done."The difference between men and boys, is the lessons that they learn"

1st Service Update :
I took the bike for service at 1400 kms (got a bit late coz did quite a few rides)
For the last 400 kms the Engine was giving out a lot of vibes. The bike was also not starting without throttle input.
The reason for vibes was loose engine mountings , hence all were tightened. The Air filter was choked and needs to be replaced. Since the part is not available I will get it replaced next week. The Chain was also lubed. I decided to go with 15w50 Yamahalube this time.
Service labour =2k
parts + oil =2.4k
cost of air filter =600/-
total = 5000/-
Both the issues are fixed and bike is running very smooth.
Positives of the bike so far -
1.Over the entire 1400 kms running I have got a consistent mileage of 19kmpl. I run the bike between 3-5000 rpms all the time with a short bursts upto 9k rpm at times. Tank Range = 300kms +
2.Stock setting of suspension is very comfortable for both rider and pillion , even on bad roads. My wife says it is as good and comfortable as a bullet for her.
3.Headlights are pretty good for highways at night.
4.Runs smooth and fine with regular fuel also
5.In city traffic , bike hardly ever touches 100 degrees. The frame and seat never gets too hot to make you uncomfortable. During summer day ride on highways at 100-130 kmph bike stays at 87 degrees which is quite comfortable. At night , bike stays at less than 81 degrees.
Negatives
-
1. During day rides on open highways , wind bothers you above 100 kmph. Solution to this is a PUIG windscreen screen
2. The way airfilter was choked in 1400 kms , I might have to change the filter every 3-4k kms. I might even have to do a regular service every 5000 kms(also recommended by service center guy. Wht is the service interval for other SBK's in Indian conditions ?sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

Hey Niks I had stopped reading superbike and import section so couldnt really comment on your thread earlier. sorry for the delay
Buying a naked for inter city and intra city rides was the awesomest thing you could do. Once again...congrats on buying a bike which suits the kind of riding you do. Not the usual 'faired' superbike phobia
A few things of concern tho. There is no way in hell that the engine mounts can come loose if they were torqued well during the assembly of the bike. Atleast not so soon. You aint ripping the bike nor redlining her. You aint doing anything that shouldnt be done on the bike. I think you need to look deeper into why the engine mounts were loose. Its a effin serious thing to have them loose.
secondly...why replace the air filter ? could it not be cleaned ?
thirdly...yes do service your bike at every 5 k interval. I service my bike at every 3.5 k interval. Could be an overkill to some...but these fast toys need to be in pristine condition all the time.
Congrats once again...and do call me for your moto cafe night rides
Ciao

neither the zx10 nor the RSV4 have dethroned the BMWOriginally posted by mav1234 View PostLets see, anyways, there is already one which has beaten S1000RR.. Finally the king had been dethroned.. and the one to dethrone it is None other than Aprilia RSV4 factory...
I am not sure if yamaha can beat the BMW's or not.. but certainly they will try everything like Kawasaki did with their lethal weapon ZX10R, but Alas they couldn't beat the S1000RR..( Mind you it was just by a whisker of second that BMW won..
)
Infact the RSV4 factory bike has the least torque and HP figures amongst all the litre bikes.
It hasnt been rated the fastest on track either.
Lastly...the kawasaki zx10r has failed to make the impact that was expected of it. Its biggest USP is that its very light and its easy to change directions on the bike but other than that it hasnt even managed to be the runner up for year 2011 :/sigpic

There is simply no excuse for engine mounts on litre class motorcycle to come loose, that too at just 1400kms. You need to take this up with yamaha. I own a litre class too and I've used it on dirt more than I've used it on the road and nothing has come loose yet, not even a single nut.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Post1st Service Update :

Also, the air filter is good for at least 10k kms (15k recommended). Why did you change it?
exactly my pointOriginally posted by RabidRacoon View Post

i have a small query about super bikes,,
are they useful as ,, tourers ,,
beocz r1 tank capacity ,, is 18 liters i guess,,
if it gives a milage of 15 - 20 ,, how can we go at a stretch ,, what if there are no petrol bunk for 300 km or so ?
isnt that risky ,,
just want to know wether super bikes can be used as tourers or not
