Fz1 Ownership Thread

Hey guys/bikers/buddies/superheroes
Its been a long time since we spoke. Im really happy that I have u guys as my buddies. We all deserve to be here and I feel proud of it.
And at last my dream is no longer a dream, coz Im living it right now.
And if am not gonna share it with you, then who else am I gonna share it with.

Took delivery of my mean machine on 3rd june 2011 (was in tears I swear). The longest wait ever in the history of FZ1 till date. 85 hard days guys.

Im just speechless guys. Really dont know what to say.

Living with pride along with the motorcycle brotherhood.

Very nice machine.....and very practical....If i would not have been inclined to fully faired bikes i would have bought this.....one of my favorites.....

anyways, the date I have been given for my machine is 24th (another 14 ****ing days ) and its becoming almost impossible to wait. I almost see the calendar/watch/mobile phone 5-6 times a day to calculate the days remaining for the bike. urrggg

Need some inputs i need frame sliders for the bike wanted to know:

1) Where do you put the sliders ???? @niks and other owner a picture discription of the location should be helpful !


2) how much do they cost??

Hey bro, my hearty congrats on your black beast. reg: sliders, Ive installed motovation frame sliders. Got it from Singapore thru my friend. Approx 3000 Rs.

@Niks - Don't know where or how the silders are installed on the FZ1 but believe me they are definitely useful. Of course, in a bad crash, they are as good as useless but at slow speed imbalance or during silly tip overs, they are extremely useful.

Ex 1 - During my recent official trip, I rented a Honda CB 600F. The dealer is around 60kms from my hotel. Had no issues riding all the way up to the hotel but while parking in the hotel garage, I made a right turn on a slope at slow speed and couldn't control the bike. In fact, I could not anticipate the stopping distance and suddenly the bike was at angle and tipped over at the right. The bike had frame sliders installed thus saving my pocket. Had there been no sliders, the tank for sure would have atleast scratched.

Ex 2 - I was at the Ducati showroom yesterday and saw a Hypermotard for repairs. The owner had a bad fall and you know how? At stand still, his jeans were caught in the foot peg and quite unaware when he tried to balance with his left leg, the bike leaned towards the left and fell over. This did not have the sliders and the damages you can imagine.

I guess about 6K verses excess of over 50K
