After the call from Harish this morning, I had a quick word with Yamaha CBU Head. He has assured me again that the bikes (FZ1s) production will complete by 18th June in Yamaha Factory, Japan which was apparently shut down after the Tsunami/Earthquake. The Yamaha global website also updated the website regarding the delay of shipments (Link: Welcome to Yamaha Motor). The bikes will be then air lifted and should reach New Delhi Customs/Airport on 24th June.

Another important note, there are no other FZ1's available in stock with any of the dealers/company. If your dealer delivers you any of the bikes they are probably illegally imported and are of grey market. He also mentioned that there have been 2 cases off late in Mumbai(FZ1 & V-Max) which were caught and have been charged with cases by DRI.

4. Damaged at Nhava Sheva Port, Mumbai - At Yamaha Warehouse, NOIDA

The 4th White Bike has been repaired and complete all checks on 5th June and is being shipped to some dealer in Bangalore. I advised Harish about the incident as he said he is expecting his bike to arrive in Bangalore by 20th June. But the head claimed that the person who is buying the bike and the dealer already know about the incident and repairs being carried out in the bike.

So in short no fresh deliveries are happening before 24th June. And probably mine will be the 1st one to be delivered out of the complete second lot (Advantages of living in Delhi ). Fingers crossed

BTW johnny blaze i know that the stocks are over with all dealers lol there were 2 blacks and 1 white which came to bangalore i know this because i was the last one to get my bike before that i spoke to the other black fz1 owner he picked it up 3 days b4 mine and also harishs friends bike was also delivered at that time i had a small delay in getting the bike coz of loan app issues etc but i had already seen the bike a week b4 in the showroom just got my registration number yesterday

Can u shed some light on the DRI cases because i know no dealer would do this as he faces huge legal issues not only from the government but from the customer and yamaha so in my point of view this should not happen but a few details would help ???

no clue as to where that white might be going. I guess i have to wait longer.
@johny: did u see that bike which was supposed to be damaged??
Because the bike comes in a frame and from what i saw it is difficult to damage the bike even with a fall. even during a fall the frame could be damaged right?
i am curious to know because my friend's who work in the chennai ports say that these automotive shipments are carried with extreme care as they are held responsible for the damages and the damaged consignment shall not leave the port.
And regarding the grey market bikes: grey bikes coming through showrooms are very unlikely as yamaha india (delhi) must approve and certify the bike OK. More over its not possible for the dealer to show his sales and purchases during accounting because he will have to get the bike invoiced in his name from yamaha india and further invoice it to the customer. Also times are no more the same where people can easily forge documents and get away with it for long. Most of us know how drastically grey imports have been curbed now by the customs from 2008/09 (or u cant get away from them for long).
Well this could be only me but just sharing what is going around.
however i feel Times are changing where the customer demands the best of what he is being promised. if he doesn't get it then he can sue companies and get more than what he deserves. one way or the other i know for sure that yamaha india (not dealers) are very scared of goofing up as a case against them will completely spoil their reputation.In fact small complaints for even fz16 if taken through the right route are taken seriously by yamaha india now.

i don't know about the dhoni white is true. nikhil saw 4 whites.
according to me:
1)his own
2)my friend
3) was at bangalore wheels (on display) sold atleast 10 days back
4) the damaged 1 as johny is saying

above information is my perception and it may or may not be correct

@ DIEHARD: I was wrong about Dhoni with FZ1 White, Since none had claimed the 4th white bike on thread I presumed that he was the one who got a new one....haha (My BAD)

DRI Issue: I am pretty sure about the cases that happened in Mumbai. I do not know much about them as the Yamaha Head narrated himself and he seems too much of a gentleman to lie.

@ Harish: Bro, all i saw about 15-20 boxes all brand new CBU's and the entire display collection of Yamaha Bikes(FZ, R1, R6, MT-01, MT-03 etc etc). The guy opened two FZ1 boxes for me, a white and black. At that point all I could think of is a plan to rob that warehouse.

I did not notice any loose bike other than a V-Max which was standing in the middle. I sincerely doubt if he would lie about the 4th Bike being damaged. As he specifically mentioned about being repair completed and being ready to be dispatched.

Again: Above info is what I have heard from YAMAHA CBU Head(India) so it may or may not be correct. Pardon me for my earlier assumptions

Yikesssss ! What is the r6 and mt-03 doing in the yamaha godown ????? i thought they wouldnt launch the 600's coz of the rule ???? pls dont tell me they are planning to launch the r6 ! is the warehouse the companies ?????

@ DIEHARD: I had the same thing in mind. Apparently these were all promotional vehicles and only for display. Apart from the above they also had Yamaha ATV's, Cruiser Bikes and the famous M1 (Copy of Valentino Rossi MotoGP Version)....

It was one of the happiest day of my life. I was running around like a out of control little kid, hanging from one bike to another.

@diehard: don't you worry about the r6. there is no way it is coming to the market (atleast in the near future). so for now just stick your chest to the tank and...... go slow

From what I have heard, Yamaha have all (almost) their BIG bikes at the Surajpur plant. These are for the Management Group, & they can pick ANY BIKE AT ANY TIME for a spin.
The presence of these machines at the warehouse is not to be taken as a possibility of them being launched, as these are only for recreation of the management at Yamaha India.
