Im still finding hard to make up my mind on one of the chambers. The only thing that is eating me inside is if the chamber ill choose will match the barrel fine and wont ruin the engine.
The chamber's pic i posted earlier was from the Zen Motors Banglore(aka power tuners on FB). He is pricing at 3000Rs and says its very precisely done for 5speed barrels.
Though i wish to buy it...but still im thinking is if i could get a pre-made chamber like the DTW or KRP(although i dont wanto go with KRPs either) and be on the safe side away from worries and extra bullcrap.

Re: Spare parts thread 2 strokes Yamaha RX family
at this rate you will never use one , and about worries , my friend you are triying to make the engine do something it wasnt designed to do, you should be worried , untill yu get the setup right, in the world of of engine tuning there is no safe way to squeeze out more power and be free of worries , so if you want to play the game be ready to bear some painOriginally posted by Ankitvile View PostIm still finding hard to make up my mind on one of the chambers. Re: Spare parts thread 2 strokes Yamaha RX family
This might be a fairly lengthy post considering it has some pictures in it. My 2002 RX135 4 Speed has been with me for the longest time. Its been re bored once and has run around 7200 kms since. The two years in 2011 and 2012 that I was in Bombay saw the bike languishing in my garage. Every 6 months that I came back home, I would use it to the maximum just to keep it in shape. The Bangalore weather and the original cover from the showroom that I had bought before leaving were fairly considerate on the machine through all the seasons.
At the time when it was rebored it was also given a mild face lift. This was a time when I didn't pay much attention to the way the bike looked. Mainly the way in which parts were removed and changed. Now I do not want to bad mouth the really popular mechanic who has a garage in Vijayanagar, Bangalore who mostly charged me for the replacement parts while basically taking all the original parts and probably using it on another machine. I have moved on from the bitter experience and I would just want to "keep it real" in a sense when it comes to my bike.
I found almost all the parts that I needed urgently in the Yamaha spares department of Bangalore Wheels, Rajajinagar. Its nice to know that at least some odd original spares are still available.
The first thing that I want to change is the complete lock set including the ignition. The only roadblock to achieving this is that the frame in which the round lock fits, has been cut off (pic inserted) from the main chassis frame itself when the mechanic changed the locking system to a very crappy central locking using a Fiero spare part.
The Original Lock Kit.
The innards.
MINDA
Portion of the sidelock frame which has been cut off from the chassis.
Although my mechanic says that its impossible to put a side lock now, I am determined to find a way out of this predicament. My questions regarding this to you'll is:
1) Can I find a frame which could be used to weld back the round hole back onto the chassis?
2) Which is the best place that I can get this done in Bangalore?
Furthermore, in the quest of bringing back the bike to its original shape, I am going to do the following:
Get the front doom and the Yamaha emblem/number plate fit back onto the bike. (No idea why that guy removed it!)
Get the original chain cover onto the machine. The guy talked me into putting a half plastic one instead to get rid of some "noise" that was coming out of the chain area. (yes, I was that naive then). I haven't got the chain cover as yet, but I've been promised an original new chain cover over the weekend.
Although I have to admit that I really like the comfort this seat provides, it still looks downmarket and I guess changing it back to its original seat would not be overly unfair to my backside. So this seat is also going. Would anyone know of a place in Bangalore where I can get the seat changed back to the original specs?
Change the speedo cap with the original one with a YAMAHA emblem on top.
Finally I would also want to fix a butterfly crash guard as well as a Pillion Hand Grip?? (as shown in the illustrated picture. Correct me if I have named the part wrong) onto the bike.
NOTE: Not my bike. Reference: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/general-...ow-1-lakh.html
I do hope someone here can help me with these simple questions.
Finally, I know looking at all the pictures that you'll would be wondering what I was thinking when these parts where changed but considering the way in which I have come to know the importance of maintaining a bike, I am a little wiser now than before. I am also a little wiser now to only let the right kind of people touch my bike; mechanic and friends included.
A few extra pictures that I took this sleepy Sunday afternoon.
Good day. NakulLast edited by classiclover; 05-11-2014, 04:07 PM.

Re: Spare parts thread 2 strokes Yamaha RX family
Hello buddy,in a way your mechanic is saying true getting that side lock again welded to a frame is quite a difficult task, first you have to grind that hole properly and then find a discarded frame, then again cutting that side lock from that frame and welding it on to your existing frame, and even if you find a frame there is no gurantee that it can be done properly, but still you can give it a go, for frame you can check at the scrap market, the seat matter is not that big you can purchase new seat from the ASC, oe crash guard is still available, even protector footrest(sareeguard) is also available, speedometer is available.
