Good to see that you will sit and get the job done.....No mechanic known to me ,does a decent job leave alone a correct job...and only technically competent mechs can do a decent job on the KB100 ..

Good for you ...My mech is a Dodo, technically and will test my patience even for small things...but does not cheat or tell lies.

            • Looking for a Kb100 mech in BNG

              Hi all,

I am new to XBHP and the primary reason for me being here is this particular thread. As a proud owner of a KB100, this thread was like a treasure chest. Felt very glad to see the rebuild. Congrats KB100 and kudos to your patience and determination. . A pleasure to see so many others helping around.

An introduction. I live in Bangalore and I bought a 1991 model KB 100 in the year 2005 @ 7K to learn to ride a geared 2 wheeler. I did not want to experiment on a new bike. Eventually fell in love with the bike so much that I later got it done up well.

Basically, I had this bike moved to my hometown in 2008 as I was finding it difficult to commute when I travelled back home. Sparing use has almost ravaged the bike. It is back in Bangalore and I am looking to use it more frequently as a daily commute.

I am in the lookout for a good mechanic in Bangalore. If anyone knows about a mechanic who knows his way around a KB100. This bike is very unlike the other bikes and came with many unique features (and differently styled parts) which were way ahead of its time.

If anyone knows a mechanic, please suggest. I am happy to take it to any part of Bangalore but preference would be around East of Bangalore.
              Regards,
              Venky

                • guys ma air filter is all messed up,is there any bike whose air filter matches that of KB's

                  • try and get the filter for kbs costs about 40 bucks apiece if not get the filter element tor ct 100 and make one yourself , its nearley impossible to put k& n filters as the carburettor is in the right side ot the engine with little or no area to fix the filter , though ithink you can fix the air filter of crux (not only the element but the frame also to kbs airbox
