To be honest, am not sure its going to work as both are totally different breeds. And do u think the same will go inside in the pep's compartment? Is the magnet powerful to handle the bigger stator coil? Its like trying 150CC Cyl block assy on a 100CC bcz the specs are different. But nothing is impossible if u r determined to go for that.

I guess it could be dry solder issue else, there's no chance of melting in normal conditions. We all have the same thing and one more, bigger mills will produce more heat than a small engine. Next time when u do the soldering try to make use of a higher watts iron say atleast 40W, if u don't've access to that try with the help of a candle for heating the tip just below the soldering tip for a minute. If the voltage is low, I try this to get the best out of my Solderon iron.Originally posted by rprathin View Post

Its possible, not a straight forward one though.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostIts my friend's glamour,He is now using 9smd leds in it and each led is failing every week due to AC,ie varying current,So planning to change it to dc so that he can avoid failing of led's.
U need to cut the stock switch wires and use relays to separate the AC and DC lines. But I doubt its worth for the effort.Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

no when i got opened my stator then i found the problem it was the winding which i had done was so much that it touched the magnet due to that it was scratched by the magnet.......so again i need to do the winding with all new elements......now this time less round per poles.........Originally posted by sajjt View PostI guess it could be dry solder issue else, there's no chance of melting in normal conditions. not pulsar's coil but got another 7 poles coil and i fitted it in stator of scooty pep and when i started the engine the result was it was working but the performance was dropped too much so my plan changed to be satisfied with my own 5 poles coil.......Give your details help a biker stranded in your city.

u need to do rewinding....after rewinding u should use full wave charger like ape rr...... i u don't know how to rewind then open stator cover and post the images of coil...Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostI want to convert my Twister to full DC. Now i'm using 35W HID.I'm facing little battery drain issues

sajjt yesterday i had tested with a discharged battery but the result was same....Give your details help a biker stranded in your city.

for re-winding use 19 gauge wire minimum 12 feet per pole for best outputs even at lower RPM's. And do use a full wave rectifier like Ape rr..Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostGuys i got the clear idea about full DC convention. I'm going to convert my Honda twister to full DC.My only doubt is what gauge wire i've to use for rewinding. My usage is 35w HID & air horn. On the horn mentioned 5amps.

Won't a capacitor in between solve the issue of LED's conking off ?

and do upload the pics of what you did so we can provide more info to u regarding all DC conversion of your bike....but make sure, your turns on each pole should be neat and tightly winded else it can give you worst results imagined
.and your whole hard work can go vrrooommmmm..
.. best of luck for your Mod..!!!

I guess its the variation in current makes the things worse and cheap regulated LEDs can't withstand this variation.Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostWon't a capacitor in between solve the issue of LED's conking off ?
BTW, I don't think a cap will act as a buffer like a battery does except it can store some current for a limited time.Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

well designed LED circuits can even withstand AC, my custom made LED tail-lamp runs on AC.Originally posted by sajjt View PostI guess its the variation in current makes the things worse and cheap regulated LEDs can't withstand this variation.

Add a resistance having value around 100 ohm in series with those led supply .Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostIts my friend's glamour,He is now using 9smd leds in it and each led is failing every week due to AC,ie varying current,So planning to change it to dc so that he can avoid failing of led's.
