U can go for 19G on all poles for 8A.

If the RR is good, its a fit and forget thing irrespective of the usage it will monitor the voltage across the batt terminals. Once the battery is full, it will go into the trickle mode AFAIK.

What more u expect




Precisely Dont forget to bolt the RR to the chasiss for a better mounting and grounding.

now i came to know the earlier was the bridge rectifier which don't stop charging when the battery is fully charged and i think it only converts the input A.C. to output D.C. .....now i will use ape rr which will stop the charging when the battery becomes fully charged, there r five wires which r coming out from coil two of them r going to cdi and left 3 which r red,yellow & black in which 2 r positive(red&yellow) and one is negative(black)..

First things first Pls use any image resizing tools to resize the images to 800X600 so that the images will fit the screen without overlapping which adversly affecting the viewing. You can download the like MS powertoys Image resizer which will enable multiple images resize with a single click.

Its using DC ignition hence the absense of AC coil for ignition in the stator. Its got a tapping and its being splitted to lighting + batt charging. I guess its the yellow wire is the middle wire which u can leave isolated, make sure that this is the middle wire with a MM and take out the other two wires (black & red) to the APE RR grey wire. Before that, unground the black wire from the stator body. Do the rest as explained in the first pages. Take the current battery charging rates and compare with the APE RR rates. I would suggest to rewind it but u can try the battery condition with this coil, if it can support the load, there's no need of rewinding it.

Low battery can cause misfiring and hickups, so be judicious in using lights in low rpms before rewinding.

I didn't go for rewind or the RR swap. I installed an avenger coil and used rahuldevnath's ckt which had a rectifier to convert the AC meant for headlight to DC and charge the battery using it and connecting the headlight wiring directly to the battery via a relay. It is able to run a 35watt HID flawlessly. I was earlier running a Philips 55/65watt halogen. that too was nice bright and flicker free.
I don't trust my own ckts thats why i have stuck to OEM parts and all. sajan, shreeni and abhijeet080808 are daredevils who push all the mods a step ahead. kudos to you people

u can go for full dc by using ape rr and by doing re winding in coil share some pics of stator coil.... whats your ride??

No, so long as ur RR is in good condition, ur battery wont be over charged, but with a small cap battery can be easily fried on low rpms, so its better to upgrade to possible higher AH.

Could've bit more neat and tight, there many gaps between the wires... Apply winding varnish if its dry type (coil is not immerced in engine oil) hmm.. for the first take its fine... check for any body contact with the element and read the current rates once its connected. Ur target is 5A for 35W HID.

no first i will open it then rewind to make it more tight....

also tell sajjt is it imp to take a weak battery so that the reading comes accurate..or charged battery will work.... as u had said that ape is having smart charging unit then the charging will drop to 1 amps if battery is fully charged....

OK, use fresh elements to wind, do not use the present wire, try to make it as close as possible without giving any gaps as much as possible.

For testing purposes its better to have a used battery as wrong connections can fry the battery. Make sure that its not a fully charged battery, if its fully charged u wont get the actual charging rates as once the battery is full it will go into trickle mode which approx 1A and this applies to all RRs.

d reading with fully charged battery was
at lower rpm 0.3amps
and at full throttle 2.1amps
and volts were 3 - 18 without battery
i will fully test it with the discharged battery and will post it because i need to get the discharged battery......will post the reading after two to three days.......

if the result is not that i expected than can i put the Pulsar Ug3 coil which has 8 poles
