May be you will get the Micro-De much less than 5k at opera, since online it says 5.5K & by my experience above, it should be cheaper @ Opera house than Pune.
    Hi Abhijit,
I`ll be visiting the market on saturday & check out the lights. What I am currently looking at is buying a driving lamp & Micro DE dont come in that version. I`ll check out the prices of all possible lamps & post them here.

The FF200 is available in the driving beam pattern so might go for it. Lets see what I actually pick up on saturday, so kindly bear till then.

One more, have you checked the price for the Comet 200? Or both are same? By looks its almost same. Both have FF glass too
No worries mate. Hella website says comet 200 while online store says FF200. I think they are same since Hella website also mentions chrome version as Comet 200 Chromium.
Also check Comet 200 Xenon lights if it suits your budget, it comes with D2S bulb, clear cover lens and FF reflector.

Bosch bulb seems to be more on the whiter side when compared to the Philips Premium, whose pics can be seen HERE

After reading your comments I was going to get the Bosch bulb, which would be good value for money for a DIY. But the beam color shown in the Bosch pics doesnt encourage me as much as the Philips Premium does.

Whats the color temp of the Bosch bulb?
Actually I dont know the color temperature of Bosch H4 bulb but according to Bosch they say that their bulb gives light just like the sunlight around evening like say after 4 o clock in evening hence this light is pleasent
Also Philips Premium is very good bulb
But I doubt about its genuinity
if you are able to get it from a dealer who gives 100% genuine Philips bulbs then Philips Premium is also better.
It gives some more lumens than Bosch bulb
Bosch 60/55 watts bulb gives around 1650 lumens in high beam and 1000 lumens in low beam
            Bosch - Lighting

whereas Philips Premium gives around 1700 lumens in high beam

Why I recommended Bosch bulb because purchasing it from a Bosch authorized outlet itself guarantees its genuinity
whereas in case of philips bulb even if you buy it from best shop but still its genuinity cant be guaranteed
Atleast I faced this problem with Philips Premium bulbs and Halonix bulbs
Maybe if you get Genuine Philips Premium bulb it is better

When I was running with a 55/60W on my Pulsar, re winded coil which was supporting a 90/100 above 3K rpm, was not giving this intensity below 1.5K rpm

AFAIK, RR= regulator cum Rectifier unit, is basically regulates the supply from the alternator to a safe level of 14V by shunting/shorting the terminals when the voltage crossing the limits in the first phase. In the second phase, the regulated power is routed to a rectifier unit which consists of a bridge rectifier for charging the battery. But how come the RR is getting charged here and whats the use of it? There's no charging/ storage option in the RR like in the form of a Cap/battery isn't it? You meant to say that first it charges the battery and then its powering the bulb from there?

              Sajjt

I actually mean to say that
one RR unit which is stock one works for the electricals of my bike other than headlight
There is one more parallel regulator of scooter which is dedicated only for headlight and is about 80 watts rating
It is just a regulator. It doesnt have rectifier unit hence it just gives output.
This scooter regulator has got only 3 terminals
one for input, second for output and third for Ground
The input is taken from the wire which is supplying voltage to the RR unit
The output is connected to the headlight wire and before that the headlight output is disconnected from the stock RR unit
              The third terminal is grounded
              Thats it

My scooter regulator looks something like this as shown in this website
Two wheeler CDI RR AC DC DTSI Flasher and Buzzer for bike and scooters bt Shreem Auto Products

So the voltage which initially was going to only one stock RR unit gets bifurcated now.Voltage coming from battery goes to rr unit and also the scooter regulator

The stock RR unit does its work as usual it was doing earlier
The scooter regulator takes the voltage from battery and gets charged and gives output to the bulb
The Stock RR unit charges the battery as usual.Since this RR unit is of 120 watts hence it charges the battery very fast hence no problem of performance and no load on the stock rr.
Only around 1000 to 1400 rpm,the alternator doesnt produce that much current hence the bulb starts flickering at that time. But when rpm moves around 2000 the alternator again produces good current hence bulb glows to its full intensity beyond 2000 rpm itself hence speeds nearby 20 to 25 kph also I get good intensity of light.

Because TVS bikes Like Victor GL/GLX/Edge,Star City,Apache have magneto of 95 watts for kick start and around 120 watts for self start and 50 watts reserved for headlight around 1900 to 2300 rpm itself as per specifications of MasterIgnition the OEM magneto coil for TVS
Thus TVS magneto coils develops 50 watts output for headlight at very low rpms
In case of other bikes from Honda,Suzuki,Yamaha,Hero Honda(Except Karizma and Ambition which works on DC)
To achieve this much output, rpm of around 3500 is needed hence if you put a powerful bulb for these bikes, you will have to race hard your bike till speed of 50 minimum then only you will get full intensity.
The scooter regulator stuff also doesnt work well for these bikes.Coil rewinding is the only option for these bikes.

use a single beam HID on the high beam. A 4300k will be perfect .

                • Hello all Pulsar owners

Here is a interesting thread to increase headlight intensity

                  According to this thread
In a Pulsar 150/180 , you can directly fit the magneto coil of Avenger 180.
The coil of Avenger 180 is powerful to support 60/55 watts bulb and straight fit to P-150/P-180
Hence no coil rewindings required for P-150 and P-180

But remember that you have to use Avenger 180 Magneto and not the Avenger 200 magneto

                    Hi Abhijeet,

I finally managed to build the flasher using your suggested circuit. I did a lot of trial n error, to get the optimum flashing timing.
                    I used C1=10uF, R1=10K and R2=68K.

Also this site is also wonderful to calculate 555 values, i guess u must have seen it but sharing it anyways.

                    Thanks again.

Is it possible to install 55/60w headlamp (halogen or normal) on activa without modding the coil.

                          Hey Abhijit,

Its very simple bro. You need not build any circuit or something like that.

Here is what you can do:
You need to pull out two wires from the front two signal lamps. Now when you connect both these with each other & press the turn signal switch to either right or left, all your 4 indicators will glow. If you switch off the turn signal the hazard lights will also go off.

If you disconnect the wires you pulled out from the indicators & then switch on the indicator, they will work normally.

You can put an ON/OFF switch to put the hazards ON/OFF(to complete the circuit).

I have been using this setup from years without any issues.

                          I hope you got it.

                                Which headlight are you using?
I mean to say which bike?
I am using a car headlight 7 inch round fitted in Pulsar dome

Are you using a car headlight or bike headlight.

Reason why I am saying because
Car headlight reflectors have higher ratings of 60/55 watts bulb whereas bike headlight reflectors has got ratings of 35 watts hence the polycarbonate layer on the reflector begins to melt if you use a higher wattage bulb

I used this same bosch bulb on Fiero FX dome.Though Fiero FX round headlight is biggest close to 8 inch but it was not giving me satisfactory results because its rating is 35 watts.
Whereas I am using 7 inch Ambassador car headlight that too non mfr.My current headlight is of polarized glass still I get best results

By the way did you purchase Bosch bulb from authorized Bosch outlet or some car shop?
